adb not ack on debian - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I'm using a debian wheezy, I don't manage to start adb
---> sudo ./adb start-server
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
cannot bind 'tcp:5037'
ADB server didn't ACK
* failed to start daemon *
There is nothing running on port 5037. I checked with netstat -a
Any idea ?
Thank you

:crying::crying::crying:
If you're still not able to root your phone w/ that error, don't connect the phone to the usb cable yet , on flashtool, just click the options first and once you see a new window showing to plug the cable, make sure phone is off then press the back button on the phone before plugging the usb cable. That should do it.
Hit thanks if I helped you!

try that mate, will work 100%,I rooted mine by that way, you should downgrade to gb .58 as .62 is unrootable and then follow the steps for ics :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695514 ( will work for .587 and .431) and for the ftf of ics .587 use this link as his links are for .431:https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B522s-mwpnl0NHVaaERrdGFJUUk/edit or http://www.multiupload.nl/7TYMEM6WNO

If U Wish u can flash a ccustom kernel after unlocking your device
reply if u wish to know
I've tested once on Neo using this method.
1. Flash the .587.
2. Flash the .562 kernel, then root it using Doomlord's emu script. (Make sure Flashtool is NOT running.)
3. Flash the .587 kernel.
Done, a rooted stock .587. Tested and it works.
Check this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2118343 by alokbina. :good:

Hi,
Today wanting to flash Cyanogen 11 to my Galaxy Nexus I completely messed everything.
I got into ClockWork Recovery mode before putting the cyanogen .zip file in the internal storage.
Now I'm stuck in the recovery mode and I can't get access to my internal storage from the terminal.
To give you what I've tried so far ... :
Code:
[[email protected] ~]$ adb kill-server
[[email protected] ~]$ adb start-server
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *

I'm becoming really desperate here, if anybody could just help pleeaaasse :'(
maybe this will work
My situation might be unique, but what I did allowed me to use a previous backup made in TWRP and I'm now able to reboot into the system again.
I was stuck in CWM and could not even get to FASTBOOT with the keypress combo. It would also not boot to system, so reboots just took me back to CWM. I was able to talk to the device with adb and reboot into the bootloader. From there I was able to flash a different recovery. (TWRP)
adb:
adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash recovery "openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img"

Probably a driver issue. What are you connecting to and from? Which version of adb? Do you have USB Debugging enabled on the device?

error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported. andriod 6.0
