[Q] Help Please! Motorola Motoluxe Won't Boot Past Motorola Logo?! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have rooted my device and then downloaded CWM and tried to install Cyanogen Mod, I have tried this before and it just rebooted with nothing happening. This time the device would not boot past the motorola logo. I took out the battery and attempted to boot but again the device got stuck at the moto logo.
Can anyone help?
I am terribly sorry if this has been asked before or sounds like a nooby question, desktops and laptops are more my thing, don't know as much about mobile devices. Also there are not many helpful threads on the internet as apparently this is an underrated phone :/
Thanks for any help

The Motoluxe page suggested I do this
1. Power up the phone by pressing the VOL UP + VOL DOWN KEYtogether + PWR KEY
2. The device will start up with Motorola logo and power up to a little Androidman logo with Exclamation mark
3. Tap the HOME soft key at the bottom of the device (In between the MENU andthe RETURN soft keys)
4. The device will display BLUE Text on a Black background
5. Press the VOL DOWN key till the Wipe data / factory reset is selected andpress the PWR key to confirm the selection
6. Use the VOL DOWN key again to select YES - delete all user data and pressthe PWR key to CONFIRM
7. The device will then start performing the Factory Data Reset
8. Once the Formatting is complete , press the PWR key to confirm a REBOOT
9. The message rebooting is displayed on the phone
10. The device will reboot and start the normal power up sequence
Which does not actually work

1st thing, cyanogenmod has an inbuilt recovery. After installing cm u SHOULD NOT install any other recoveries. For now I believe u r soft bricked. U ll need to fxz back to stock to come out of it.!

Do you think you could link me to a tutorial or something on how to do this please?

I read somewhere about holding Vol down and camera button while plugging in a USB cable so I tried it and this brought up a red screen with text that says
MBM Flash-mode.

using the volume buttons on this screen does nothing, neither do the soft keys but pressing the power button says

then it just gets stuck on the Motorola logo again

[Q] [q]Stuck on the splash screen

Hi all,
I am trying to flash another JB rom the other day.
I just turned off the Prime completely, and try to enter the recovery mode by holding power and down, then up within 5 seconds...
It then showed the Android laying down with the heart opened:silly:
I have to holding power to restart and boot normally into the rom.
I didn't do any wipe or flashing at all...
Later, I restart and now totally stuck on the splash screen with "ASUS", not even able to boot in to the rom I'm currently using...
Any help?!
Thanks
We need more information. What ROM were you using before this happened, what ROM did you try to flash, and is your device unlocked?

He has to be unlocked otherwise he wouldn't have had a different rom on there or recovery before.
Hold down the power button and volume down button for 10 seconds, keep holding them until the screen with all the icons on it appear (recovery, wipe, usb icon etc) look up the top at the writing and at the end of the line with bootloader in it is a long number that starts with 9 or a 10. What number is it ?

Considering he says he got Dead Andy that makes it possible that he was on stock and just tried to use stock recovery to flash a custom ROM. I understand your point, the OP is just lacking details.

Hi McJesus, before this happened, I was using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911024
and I am trying to shift to shis one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982156
I was trying to enter the recovery mode to prepare wipe and flash procesure, I remember I used to use TWRP, but failed, it stopped at the "dead Android" icon, and I could get out only by restarting.
Then I researched and installed Goo and Rom manager, yet, just installed those, not done any flashing or wipe whatsoever.
Then start doing recovery mode, failed, normal boot, totally hanged, on the splash screen with "Asus"...I coudle restart with holding the power buttom though.
The device is unlocked.
Thanks for helping,

Nexus 10 - unlock bootloader didn't go as expected

Hi guys,
I tried to unlock the bootloader of my Nexus 10 before rooting it. Unfortunately, it didn't work and I can't use it anymore (I either have the "Loading X" forever or a dead droid while trying to go to the recovery mode).
I'm used to do that kind of modifications (only on Samsung Galaxy S and S3 though) and I don't know what I did wrong (but I usually flashed with Odin).
Anyway, I used this tool (after enabling the usb debug and allowing unknown sources) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001868
I installed the drivers on my PC (menu 1 in the tool), then I could see my device in ADB MODE (in the tool menu). I tried to unlock the bootloader (3rd option in the menu) and it was written completed. My device reboots and nothing happens. I can access the fastboot mode (is it the download mode ?).
I have Odin.
Can someone help me to get a working device ?
Thank you very much.

Easy fix. Get to the dead droid recovery menu and then press all 3 buttons on the top. You will get into the blue recovery options. Choose factory reset.
Sometimes unlocking the bootloaders scrambles a few things on this device and it goes into boot loop. After the factory reset, you'll be fine. PM me if you still have issues.

Okay, thank you very much. I didn't know I had to press the 3 top buttons again after the dead droid screen, I thought it failed loading the Recovery Mode.
I have to setup my account etc again so I guess it is safe to say it worked.
Additionally, I tried this method after the recovery : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015467
and it worked fine. My device has an unlocked bootloader and is rooted.
hey if someone could help me im stuck myself, after i had the dead android in recovery mode i tried to flash software with the toolkit in fastboot and now when i go to recovery its just a blank screen till i hold the bottom combo again and it takes me back to fastboot

It sounds like you didn't actually perform a factory reset. The key combination to get into stock recovery from the dead android screen is Power + Vol-Up. That will bring up the option to factory reset.
So if your powered off or bootlooping, hold the Power + Vol-Up + Vol-Down until you're back in the Bootloader. Use Vol buttons to select Recovery Mode and tap Power. When the droid w/ the Red "!" appears, hold the Power button and quick press the Vol-Up button. This should take you into stock recovery. Select Factory reset. Reboot. After a few minutes, the device should boot normally.
Good luck.

Ok found a video showing that when you get to that part where there's the dead droid (the red !), you don't press hold hold all three buttons but tap them until the recovery screen shows up.
So finally did that but I still have the same problem.
My initial problem was, I received my N10, open the box, turned it on and it started freezing and rebooting. Can't get past the wifi step.
Tried hard and many times to finally get to enter my gmail account, etc
Updated to 4.3, problem persisted so I figured, maybe the factory flashed a bad rom?
So I unlocked it, rooted it and tried flashing older stock versions, same problem.
Tried flashing CM, same; PA, same...
Tried deactivating location service as suggested elsewhere: same; uninstall chrome: same
Even CM withouf GAPPS wouldnt work
So basically, I have a $500 brick. Completely useless as it freezes every 30 seconds.
Decided not to return the device because although I am Canadian, I live in SE Asia and had a visiting friend bring it to me. Way past the return period and the overall experience would be a real pain in the butt... Don't know what to do. Really hoping Kit Kat will solve it but I have doubts.
What do you think?
Sorry. I don't know enough about these things to give more in depth troubleshooting advice. I just recently got my N10 & unlocked it and based on your original post, I thought that's where you needed help. But it sounds like you got past that and got it unlocked.
Have you tried downloading a factory image directly from Google and installing that? If it's locking up on a fresh install of any ROM, it very well may be a hardware issue. You may have to file a warranty claim if possible.

I guess I broke my XT910

Hi everyone,
I am writing in order to find a helping hint to rescue my Motorola Razr XT910...
I was just trying to install another ROM via BMM, wiped everything, tried to reboot to BMM again because I inserted a SD card...
Now it does not reboot anymore and does not show the BMM boot animation!
It shows the regular, red Motorola logo, and then nothing.. black..
What did I do wrong, or what can I do to revive it??? Is there any windows one click installer/tool/recovery program??
I have been using BMM for a while now and this never happened... I installed many roms but now it seems as if it is broken.
I would be so happy to get some hints. I haven't found some similar posts for this problem.

there isn't a script tool for the xt910 because there are too many firmwares. The motorola logo means your bootloader is there, the black screen after means there isn't a ROM for it to boot up. It is curious that BMM hijack isn't showing up though. Have you taken the sd card out and tried booting it up again?
Anyways make sure you can get into stock recovery, if so, find the correct firmware for your xt910 (it is region specific.)
reinstall it with RSD lite(make sure you have plenty of battery.) Reroot, Reinstall BMM and restore your backup.

Right now I cannot get into ANY menu or something, I can press any button I want. After the "logo" it stays black. The phone also might not even be able to be connected to my computer. At least Microsoft Windows doesn't even show a new device when I connect it via USB, regardless if I have the correct drivers...
I dont know what to do... RSD didnt help me either. It wont find the phone...

Well, whenever you turn on your Razr, there is an initial red Motorola Logo. After that you usually touch the screen to boot into BMM (in case the green boot loader appears).
BUT... (of course I tried the VOL+ Vol- und Power button move) after rebooting it only shows the red Motorola Logo and then nothing but black.

How long are you holding them down.. it can take a good twenty-thirty seconds sometimes. Mine is also finicky if I don't press them all down at the exact same time, it wont let me in then either.
If your getting the boot logo it is just really hard to believe you dont have stock recovery... can the device charge? If you hook it to a computer do you get the white led?
While it is Flashing M LOGO.... just keep the VOLUME DOWN AND POWER KEY Pressed...till it Flashes and Shutsdown....and immediately let go the Buttons and Immediately Again press Both the buttons... VOL DOWN+POWER Key
when you get to the FASTBOOT mode

Now I am facing an issue that's really annoying. I can get into recovery (AP Fastboot) if the phone is connected to a power source. As soon as I unplug it, the screen turns black! When I connect the phone to my computer, the LED goes white and I cannot access AP Fastboot....
When no cable is connected to the phone I cannot access any recovery mode.
What is wrong here? Even if I connect the phone to the power source only, it shows the red Motorola logo all the time. It seems as if I cannot turn it off. Is there also a trick how to really turn it off and let the phone charge??

What to do in case of bootloop

Hi. So I have a noobish question
This may sound very stupid, but this is actually the first time I've owned a phone with non-removable battery, so I just wanted to know what would I do if I ever got stuck in a bootloop? With my previous device, I could just remove the battery and put it back in then boot into recovery. Obviously can't do that now. So how do I turn the phone off, or enter recovery?
Anyone?
You can enter the recovery whenever you want by pressing the on/off button and the down volume button for about 10 seconds. When the Oneplus logo is on the screen release the on/off button but keep the down volume button pressed.
It works, I had a bootloop and fixed it by flashing the rom via twrp

Sorry, I got a little confused
Just to be clear, here's what I understood from what you said - Consider I turn my phone on and its stuck in a bootloop. What do I do then? Hold the power and vol down buttons? That will boot the recovery, even while the device is stuck in bootloop with the oneplus logo continuously showing?
Did I get it right?

I'm sorry I'm not English I may be unclear.
But yes, when you got the logo continuously showing, press the two buttons I said and it will reboot the phone, but you have to release only the on/off button when the oneplus logo will appear right after the beginning of the reboot. If you keep pressing the down volume button it will go to recovery
Have you got a oneplus x already ? You can try it right now, when your phone is awake. It's the same method as in a bootloop.

So I tried what you said, didn't exactly work When the phone was awake, did power+vol down. That just caused it to take a screenshot.
However, when I held down just the power button, the phone turned off. Then I had to turn it on by holding the power button. I did the same thing (holding down power button) while the phone was booting, it worked even then, and the phone again turned off.
So at least I can get into recovery now in case of bootloop. I just need to hold the power button till phone turns off, then boot into recovery using power+vol down combination.
Anyways, thanks for the help

Yesterday, I got my OPX and installed TWRP 2.8.7.0 and superSU. AFter using the phone all day, I rebooted and it is now saying in TWRP "no operating system".
I tried to flash the 2.1 full ROM and I get an error in both TWRP or in Stock recovery.
I need a way to get my system booted again and do a full reset. Any suggestions?

You can try a different twrp. There's 2 builds for our device. One is from the twrp thread itself, the other is available in the blu_spark kernel thread.

Anyone?

hi chennai
thk u for ur answer
I tried the manipulation with the power button and the volume down but the reboot is too fast to enter bootloader
Indeed, my phone was under oos3.x and wanted to move to cyanogen ... but once the OEM Unlocked I tried to install TWRP, and that's when it is set to reboot systematically

u cannot flash official twrp while u r on oos 3.1.x.. ur bootloader is upgraded since official twrp will not work in oos3.. instead use twrp by bluespark v41 links given below.
http://get.xda-developers.com/dl/1/....img?key=THqXvgTln_65-ZHktWD9Lg&ts=1477298286
Go to fastboot mode flash this recovery, now u can able to boot into recovery. use latest cyanogen nightlies.

Hi thank you for your return, but your link doesn't work!
For fastboot, unfortunately I can't access it because the phone restarts automatically so it doesn't work with on and volume down buttons and it doesn't work either with a computer.... Any other advise :'(

I think u r doing it wrong, if u press power and vol down it ll go to recovery mode which is probably corrupted now in your case... Thats y phone gets restarted again and again.
Try this... Swt of ur phone completly hold the volume up button and power button... Press vol up first and while holding it press power buttom.. This ll take u to fastboot screen...
For the link my bad... Use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=20236 go to this page and download this recovey
Flash this recovery while u r in fastboot mode... If u need further assistance for in fastboot mode feel free to ask
