Smoothest browser - Ocean Browser - Nexus 10 Themes and Apps

Just letting you guys know that I discovered this browser called " Ocean browser" that to me is the smoothest browser (for the nexus 10) that there is. Not *quite* as fast as dolphin browser but it's another and the ui is just cleaner imo. You should check it out!

Basically a modded aosp browser, I like it!

I know! i love those!

This browser is pretty fantastic ! I find that it has the smoothness of Dolphin w/ Jetpack but without any of Dolphins weird glitches. I think the UI is intuitive but its also pretty ugly/cheesy looking, but oh well. I'm sticking with this as my default browser. Thanks for the find!
And oh - how do I use the gestures?

Just ran Sun spider on this - 806ms on first try . Definitely among the very fastest browsers.

I got 298. Firefox 3.6 gets 174. At any rate this browser passes my feel test more than any other browser.

298 indeed looks like the "standard" Android 4.0 browser.

Great find. This has finally made my browsing experience on par with how good the iPad was at browsing.

The one major problem I see with this is .. the Android 4.0 browser is basically a dead end. It's unlikely the browser engine will see any further updates, Google will concentrate on the Chrome development.
So Ocean Browser is ok for now but will be outdated very soon, despite the nifty UI features.

I'm just hoping that Google gets their **** together with Chrome by the time 4.0 based browsers start feeling dated . I'm thinking that will indeed be the case.

Someone post a video on YouTube to see its performance and smoothness!

Dissapointed.
Well IMHO I think it is awesome. The syncing works great. Can't figure out how to swipe between tabs like on the phone version though. Text entry into open fields is much better than stock. Also a neat feature when a bunch of links are close together this magnified pop up window opens to let you choose. See the screenshot attached.
Start with your finger on the bezel, and swipe onto the screen. If you have multiple tabs open you will notice it highlights a certain tab depending how much you go left or right.
It's pretty sensitive so it's easy to miss what it's doing at first.
I dont mind it so far. I like that it is reminiscent of the desktop version.
Bookmark pages could be more attractive.
Seems everyone is a little harsh for a BETA

Can I get the apk? Not downloading on the market.
Any word if this is being ported to Honeycomb?
This is replacing any browser that I use.

Google chrome for gingerbread

Since the google chrome browser isnt available for gingerbead is anyone willing to port it so we can use it on our x10 mini/pro

I'm joining to the request.
I'm sure someone is cooking on it!
I'm afraid this won't work as it's probably ARMv7 only, and it would be extremely slow on our phones, just like Adobe Flash.

EDIT
well I've tried chrome beta on pauls-xxx ICS beta 4 and it doesnt work it Force closes
Chrome for Android is ARMv7 only, sorry even with ICS you can't use it.

What a shame!
Nevermind thanks for all.
Hope we will get soon something similar all integrated in a browser without having to use the chrome to phone extention.
Someone should still port it to gingerbread (if possible) for phones with ARMv7 and that don't have ics.

wow! i guess I'm suddenly in the market for a nice ICS tablet that can run this well... I had to think about it for a while but this definitely is a game changer!
Thank you for posting this!
I don't think this is that useful on the Defy's small screen, but I will consider buying it for my Transformer. This plus Onskreen = Win!
Thank you.
little tiny browser windows on the screen? hm. i personally prefer tabs, more productive.

If you want a free tabbed browser, go over to classicnerd.net and download their Xscope browser.

What about Google Chrome

Hi,
Did anybody test Google Chrome on ICS rom ? As it's still in beta, is it whorthy yet ?
Thanks for feed back.

No no, thank you for searching and obeying rule #1.
Chrome for Android freezes quite frequently.. Lacks desktop mode.. doesn't supports native fonts as stock browser does.. Issues when sorted should be a tidy browser..
It's still "beta". If you need more information, ask MR. SEARCH
Its okay, the idea is very nice it can be extremelu fluid just like chrome browser, but bcoz of the beta, theres a few places where it crashes, i.e. full screen flash but that also may be because of the beta ICS
Ok, thanks for your back ups ! So it's worthy : even in beta, going to dowload and use it
After two weeks using Google Chrome beta, I removed it and come back to the stock browser.
Globaly, I enjoyed the frame and tab process, the browser is fast but for a day to day use, too much lags and freezes yet.
Hope the beta will evolve quickly...
Please oinkylicious and 078gregory don't click on the Thanks button.
chrome working good in dxlp7 rom, havent crashed as before for me in this rom. very good for a beta. expect all the features in upcoming versions

PS. Chrome works perfectly on XXLPQ
Thanks !
As it seems important and I do forgot to mention it : I am using a XXLPJ kernel.
I'll do my best to try it again moving to a XXLPQ...
Although I don't use chrome beta as my main browser, it has worked OK so far in my LPQ...
With AOKP RESURRECTION REMIX ROM i went back testing Chrome beta.
Works properly , smooth. no more FC.
good browser

Works perfectly after latest update, fast, doesn't hang or fc.
I'm using the latest hydrogen rom (aokp).

[TUT] Enable Bookmark sync in CM11 KitKat 4.4.2 AOSP Browser

To enable Bookmarks sync in CM 11 4.4.2 AOSP Browser, install the attached apk as a normal app, then go to accounts- Google and check "Browser". That's it, now your bookmarks will sync with the browser.
Work well on LX CM11 20140121 nightly! Thanks a lot!
EDIT:
Work on my nexus 7 2012 too. I think it's compatible with every 4.4.2 aosp browser
Works on my AT&T S4, but those are some shady-ass permissions. Are they all necessary?

Hi georgeiulian89. Thanks for this.
If you have a TI backup from CM10 you can restore the app from there instead. Look for the app "Google Bookmarks Sync" (com.google.android.syncadapters.bookmarks) and restore. I've checked mine and the amount of permissions it has is crazy.
thanks man

Chrome for mobile needs some serious work. Whenever I have it installed, it screws up my phone's ability to save my choice for default app. Everytime I open a link, youtube video, etc., it asks me what to use, 'Internet' 'Chrome' or 'Youtube' yes I cleared cache and data for all 3 apps. It's either a TouchWiz glitch or a chrome glitch, either way stock browser + this apk = awesome. No clue why 'Internet' sync is missing in KitKat, very odd.
This apk worked perfectly for me on Verizon Note 2, i605 running KitKat 4.4.2. Thanks OP :good:
