NBA Game Time - Nexus 10 Themes and Apps

Hey guys,
I just wanted to share this with all of you bacause it is awesome
As everyone knows the official NBA Game Time app for android is a pain in the a** and it is not a great experience to watch games with this app So I just tried to flash the aosp android browser, install flash and watch the games within the browser itself. And guess what it works GREAT! No stuttering or lagging at all and these 3000 kbits look amazing on that screen (and my HDTV via HDMI)
Even the full screen controls are working!
So go ahead flash this aosp browser install flash and you're good to go!
Happy watching to everyone!

Nice! I hate game time app! Was going to purchase league pass to watch on app but cant purchase it for tablet so Im assuming you have league pass and are logging into it thru web?
How are you flashing aosp browser?

Yes I'm logging in via the web browser. You have to have a custom recovery installed (e.g. clockwork mod recovery) then you can copy the aosp browser zip file onto your SD card and choose install zip from SD card and you're done

Man i been trying to make it work, but all i get is sound and then it keeps loading and says cannot play the video to difficulties.
Also my League Pass app does not look at all like yours on that screenshot, dunno.
Dunno what else to do

Flash is working great under Firefox (last version or beta), it could be another solution?

FYI: I'm not using the game time app at all. I'm just using my browser. log in to your account click on a game wait for the page to load complete and then click on the game again. I don't know why but the game only shows up at the second time. then you can interact with the interface just like you're on your PC...e.g. toggle fullscreen, mute, fast forward, rewind and so on.

mh that's strange. but it seems like your league pass website looks different than mine...where are you from? because i'm using the "league pass international" from germany (http://watch.nba.com/nba/home). when you go to the website try to tick the "request desktop site" under the three menu dots...this is how the site should look like

I get the same thing when I try (I'm in the US).
I would love to find a mod for the Game Time for Tablets app so I can run it on my Note II. I've tried the Paranoid Android ROM so I can run the app in tablet mode, but no luck. It still opens for a few seconds and then closes.
Anyone have any suggestions?

i should have clarified myself, i have the subscription and game center live does not work on:
stock browser
dolphin (beta pad version and stable)
firefox (beta and stable)
on Galaxy Tab 10.1 running In Paris Rom...
it just displays a black box where the video should be and no date text in the top date selector.
the app's live video doesn't work either, i signed in with the settings menu. i click live video, the screen rotates and goes black for a second, then bounces right back to the game info.. in the device type section in settings, it says "null". not sure if that's good or bad?
Same problem here
With the same rom

Yes they do, there own ads for game center live. I get annoyed by them popping up almost after every video whereas on the team web site it comes up every 5 or so videos. I don't have premium so i dont known if they go away with subscription. Try removing the ad block to see if it changes.

You are correct. I flashed back to stock and the web version now WORKS on stock browser. I haven't tried others but I am sure they would work. So with that, is the best way to get nhl live working on ad fixed versions to track the ip packets to see which ad services it is using and then let those through the tablet by changing the hosts file? or is there a better way?

The app definitely does not work on the tablet for me, it does on the phone. Not exactly sure why but maybe it has to do with the video player on the tablet (issue Plex had with streaming awhile back ago).
As for your other post, not exactly sure of an easier way. I just removed ad fix altogether since it has been an issue for others sites like Fox and CBS.
Yeah, the app isn't working for me either. I have a Gamecenter live account already and it allows me to sign in, but every time I try to watch a live game I get a loading sign and then it goes back to the previous screen. I can listen to the audio for the games so obviously my account is fine (that and I can watch the live games from my PC).
However, I can access live games through the Gamecenter live website, so it's not too bad. The streaming quality is good, but I find the playback is choppy. I was hoping the app would be better for watching live games, but apparently not.
In all honesty I have the live video working on my other device and it really sucks. Even if they get it working its going to be low quality, and it will switch from video to audio only.
milanlucic17 is right, just watch it through the browser, if you clear the memory on the device and close everything but the browser about 5 minutes into the feed it usually gets pretty decent to watch. Also, I haven't tried but I heard hockeysteams has android support now.
I use Dolphin HD as my browser and am on stock. The video gets a bit choppy when you set the bandwidth to 1600 or higher, but it's not too bad. The quality suffers a bit at 800, but not terrible (better than myp2p.pe).
I'm hopeful that ICS helps with the choppiness, but that's a little way off.
From my understanding, the app only seems to work if you're a Verizon customer...it's hit or miss, otherwise.
For anyone with the ad-free roms:
I just downloaded AdFree from the market, click 'revert' when I want to watch, then you can click 'download hosts' again when you are done watching and it is back to ad free.. Just an fyi.

its not promotion..Its the new way to make money off paid by giving it for free......developed by Getjar....its not piracy at all,I dont know how it works....I downloaded BW from there long time ago and still running rock solid...
Guys, this is not piracy, it's a new "Gold App Sale" by Getjar. There's some great apps in there too!
the only thing i cant get to download on the TP is Tapatalk
edit: anyone know a quick download code?
Seems like some cool apps here not sure how to get them on the touchpad though as it doesn't seem to be a supported device.. Any ideas? Where do I get the getjar app I don't see it on their page anywhere...

do you think you can use your PC browser and the quick download code and post it here? what device do you have it set to? I'm currently set on "Free Download".

they're different in the fact that they are currently updated very slowly... getjar just made it available to have developers push their updates... before, you had to know there was an update and redownload the app... i got my first push yesterday, so i see it's working
getjar makes money by sponsors... you'll see them throughout the site
Same problem as other, when i search/enter the code for the app (in my case it's Tweetcaster Pro, Tapatalk and Splashtop Remote Desktop) i get the "no compatible version for my device" text which is ridiculous because i have a Captivate and the Android Market shows those apps just fine. Any ideas? Can someone post the .apk i mean if they are free its not illegal right? And also if i get the .apk, will it update automatically when with the new push system from GetJar?

Thanks, it only worked for Splashtop, TweetCaster Pro and Tapatalk keep saying the device is not compatible i mean wtf!?!? I tried with GS II and Galaxy Nexus and both say not compatible. Anyone that has already downloaded Tapatalk from the GetJar app can tell me the device they are using and the name code so i can modify the Build.prop and download the app.
ro.product.model=GT-i9100
ro.product.brand=samsung
it has worked with everything in getjar... i have a crash here and there but they all have downloaded...
if you've changed this... reboot... it took awhile for google's android market to see the change... i probably restarted 3 times... even went into webos once and back to cm7...
the only thing i've had a problem with working at all (it did download) is Advanced Task Manager
i get:
Sorry! The application Advance Task Manager (process con.arron.taskManager) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
edit:
just tried another app... Aces Jewel Hunt downloaded and installed but closes right after the splash screen opens
Yhea i tried with that. i wasn't able to download the Splashtop before changing the build.prop and after changing that and rebooting i could. But i couldn't download the other two apps, i mean i even tried going on the browser to getjar.com and changed my device to the i9100 and even there i can't seem to get the code for the download because i get the same message that my device isn't compatible and im talking about the PC browser. Im gonna change again to the i9100 on the phone and wait a day or so and try again from the app, i don't understand why i have to do all this the app should be compatible.
Thanks again for the suggestions though

[Q] Opera mobile users: Embedded youtube vids

Been running opera mobile 11.5.3, but have had zero luck with embedded youtube videos. Any others noticing the same in opera? Tried all kinds of different settings, clearing data, reinstalls, etc. Interesting enough, i get audio, along with a black box as opposed to the video.
Opera mini opens the vids in youtube, so worst case i go to that. Worth noting, this link works in every other browser i have installed and plays the embedded vids. So pretty sure its just opera mobile unfortunately...
Test page:

same here, haven't found a browser that renders as quickly as opera. rarely ever see any tiles when loading pages.
Just tested on my skyrocket... loads with no issues. So its something with the prime. hopefully fixed in a future release. guess i'll shoot an email to the dev.
this is because opera mobile needs to update it for optimal use with our device also. only sound plays out. maybe we need to leave some comments on marketplace or email the developer to address the issue.
edit: I left a comment on marketplace. seen another guy named Ryan, that owns a Prime, also left the same complaint.

as far as i can tell yeah, one other thing i wish they would fix is when you click a youtube mobile link instead of opening youtube it directs you to the youtube page, Opera needs to update so i can stop using two different browsers simultaneously
I put it in tablet mode and it didn't work for videos embedded in general section I was trying to look at. I press the big white play button n nothing shows up. I had flash on demand. So I tries again enabling itall the time and nothing shows up in that area period. SMH. Opera need to hurry up n update..lol

What I did is un/reinstall flash, set Opera to tablet mode and flash always on. Works for me. Only thing is that youtube mobile pops up. Not ideal, but doable till an update of Opera. Meanwhile I use boat browser.

How I Got Flash Working On My Nexus 10 Browsers

I have Flash working on my Nexus 10 using the latest versions of the Dolphin browser and the Skyfire browser downloaded from the Play Store and I am able to watch video clips on the BBC Web site and the TVCatchup Web site without needing to root the Nexus 10 or use a seperate iPlayer application.
I have the Dolphin browser Agent set to "Desktop" and in the Web Content setting I have the Flash Player set to "Always on".
I have the Skyfire browser set to "Load Pages As:" Desktop and "Enable Plug-ins" Always On.
I attach a copy of the Flash apk that I use and which needs to be "side-loaded" to the "Download" folder in the "My Files" folder then install using a file manager such as Astro by clicking it.
I've not been able to get Flash working on the Chrome browser or the Opera Mobile browser this way and l could not play the BBC clips using the Boat browser but I could watch TVCatchup.
I hope this way of getting Flash on the Nexus 10 browsers works for you too and if so then please show your gratitude by using the thanks button.

Thanks for the info. I'm using dolphin also... Quick question, can you pleas elaborate on the step above? I've never rooted or used Astro before, so I'm a little green. I know this doesn't require root, but you see where I'm coming from... I think the side loading step is basically downloading the file to the N10, but the Astro part is not as clear. Also, if you go to ESPN.com using Dolphin, can you play those videos?

Do you think this might be possible with the regular Android browser that other devices have?

Yes same here with Maxthon and the Stock Android Browser. With the exception (so far) of ESPN. I'm getting sound but no video with both browsers.
I've got flash working on Dolphin. The flash player setting is set to "on demand", and I can't change it. I get the "flash is disabled because its no longer supported." message, but the setting stays at "on demand".
"On demand" was the setting I used on my previous tablet, and when I switched to the N10, I backed up my old Dolphin settings with Titanium Backup and restored them on the N10, so that's probably how the setting got stuck that way.
So it looks like the answer for using flash on Dolphin is to use Titanium Backup and a backup file from a pre-Jellybean device. Of course you need to be rooted for that.
Just get the older version of Dolphin from here and everything will work lawlessly:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787595
Tested on several websites and didn't have any problem, except ESPN, but over there it is a different issue.

OK so I got my flash working without root access ' what I did was side load flash ' then used boat browser and set the flash to always and user agent to desktop. But I will say it runs so bad guys , its very slow and I assume it has to do with the screen res and how much it has to download at the same time, using it also drained my battery heavily and made the back end really hot lol wait for a html5 to catch up lol that's what I say.

Works wit Firefox too
I just got this to work with Firefox. I had to remove and reinstall FF after side loading flash. Dolphin had to be done the same way, and in no way did any of this work for me until after I updated to 4.2.1. I updated dolphin to the latest version once I got it to work and the darn update turned flash off... So I got rid a dolphin and kept Firefox because ff is @ the latest version.

flash works fine in the stock browser, you just need to side load a flash APK. Anything 11.1 or higher will work fine. Enjoy your porn :silly:.

So, even though it's JB the stock browser works with Flash? That's a big plus since I'm not yet ready to give up in-browser Flash videos. Now, it just needs root, SixAxis and Wireless Tether and I'll be content.

All Adobe said was that Flash for Android would be discontinued and wouldn't be officially supported by them after ICS. That doesn't mean it won't continue to work on some devices running 4.1 on up, just that there's no promise of working. I think Flash is still working with most Jelly Bean devices.

Same here. I doesn't work properly on some youtube videos. Some videos show scrambled lines but no pictures, some others just won't play. I installed the same JB version of Flash that I've been using on my SG3 (worked perfectly on all dozens of custom ROMs that I had flashed) and on my ATT Note (also on dozens of ROMs from AOSP, AOKP, to CM10 etc...) But no go on this Verizon Note II. I had to uninstall it. I only use Stock Browser BTW

Yeah I tried the CNN website and had no luck.. Hmmm flash is installed but not working on their site... Have you went to one of the websites that test to see if flash actually works. Here's a screenshot with OEM browser ...

Good idea! Apparently it is working according to the test pages. Maybe its just certain sites use a different player not suited for mobile...ill download dolphin beta and see if it works. Ive been out of the loop for a bit...why has adobe stopped supporting android? That was a major advantage of android in the early days.
Web site is probably borked and not handling browser user agent ID correctly. For example, videos on main page Yahoo don't work but Yahoo Movies do. Other tech news sites work too.

CNN videos work fine for me in Boat Browser. Been using that browser exclusively for about 6-months now and is about the best and fastest browser for Android with Dolphin coming in a close second.
You can get all of the Flash versions, and the latest (old) version of Dolphin that supported Flash from this link here:

I'm using the latest version of Flash (11.1.115.27) and the latest version of Boat Browser.
Just letting you guys know...CNN is a strange website in that
If you ever enter CNN without the Desktop Mode enabled and try to watch a video, then they drop a cookie in your browser, so when you come back to the website with Desktop mode, flash videos will not work. So the solution is to clear your cache.
I am having the best luck with Beta Firefox, addon: Desktop by Default (makes sites think your phone is a normal computer so no mobile bull****) and Adblock Plus (gets rid of most annoying popups etc)
Also found that when you go full screen on flash videos, you should turn the phone to the correct side of landscape so the video doesn't have to flip 180 or 90 degrees and there be a chance for it to freeze; sounds odd but a really buggy old flash page kept freezing when I went full screen the wrong way but loaded normally when I used the correct method.
Coming from the GNex, seems like Samsung's software is a little less forgiving then Google's unfortunately so steps like this seem necessary for the moment.

I just tried Firefox Beta again. Still blows. There's no full-screen, no homepage, no way to keep "request desktop" permanent, no way to access tabs in the full-screen add-on without turning full-screen add-on off, accessing tabs, then turning full-screen add-on back on again.
Desktop by Default seemed buggy and not always on.
Although Firefox was blazing fast, they've got a long way to go options-wise before they can compete with other mobile browsers.
