[Q] One X+ cannot play video, One X plays perfectly - HTC One X+

I have come along an issue I am quite perplexed. I got two factory reset phones, One X and One X+. I send over bluetooth the same exact video file, a 2Mb .avi sent over whatsapp to a third device.
The One X receives the file and it appears under All Downloads in the Gallery with its correct thumbnail and opens with no problem at all.
The One X+ is unable to assign a thumbnail or open the video at all.
Any ideas of how is this even possible?
I believe I can solve the issue with a third party app, but gallery is where I always go first for videos or photos and it is quite annoying to not be able to see what I want to select.
Could it be a codec issue or something similar? Should not both phones have equal video support?

I think you have problem with bad video codec from transfer, because i don't have this problem, but even i can play complete movie of about 1.3Gb with a flawlessly movement and even it can recognize the. mkv video

It is the same exact file, one copy in the One X and another in the One X+, one plays it the other does not.
Someone knows something about the codec support of each device?

HD playback problem?

There might be a post on this already and I had hoped someone would have found a fix for this already but everyone I know with an atrix and the demos ones at the store are all having HD pkayback issues with videos through the app JetVD. Curious if anyone else has noticed I was always a fan due to the fact you can download in 720p but when you try to play it says file error and if you just try to stream and not download it says file error but you can play the same video on a lower quality. Also I have downloaded a video on a different phone and used bluetooth to transfer to my atrix and still would not play did the same thing with a lower quality and played fine? Any ideas?

3d video editing software

Looking for a video editor that can edit the 3d video from the evo 3d and keep it in a format that can be uploaded to YouTube.
?
you need any editor that can edit h264 with aac audio within mp4 container
then export as the same, when uploading to youtube just put in the right yt3d keywords
I use Adobe Premiere for mine
The trim software that came with the 3d phone is a great addition. I've used it a lot since shooting with my EVO 3d. It helps to shrink the video's to fit on youtube without needing a wifi connection.
How exactly did you use premier to edit the video? I tried premier it always messed up the format. I think tried the new vegas with 3d support. That would mess up the file as well. tried a few other editing programs with 3d support and none of them even recognize the video as being 3d and try to make it 3d and thus why they all dont do it right.
It always shows up with two views when i try to look at it again on the device, sometimes with four.
I just want to edit together simple clips nothing too crazy.

you don't need 3D editing software, the actual video is 1 file with them side by side, load it in to a 720p project, the video will fit in to that fine, edit as you would normally, then export as 720p too
nothing else to do, it's that simple
Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus HD supports 3D video editing.
I saw this just the other day and the article was in my trash, but here is a link to the article that talks about it and a bunch of other video editors.

ok ive done that already it wont work. The video shows up as two images on the device when I try to watch it. Im trying to edit the video to watch it on my evo 3d. Whenever I upload it to the device directly or to youtube it messes up the 3d and plays with the two pictures and sometimes four side by side.
What export setting are you using besides 720p? Are you able to watch the video on your evo 3d?

when playing press menu > play in 3D
it's the only way to do it at the moment (or end the name of the file with "3D")
What are the Adobe Premiere settings that you are using to edit EVO 3D footage. My project is 1280 x 720, 29,97, 441Hz Compressed. Premiere loads the mp4 into the timeline then Premiere locks up. I am using CS4 Premiere Pro.

I use wondershare ultimate, its like $65 BUT if you know where to look its fr33.
Normally I dont indulge in things of that nature, $65 for software that will be used for me and my phone only (no uploading/sharing) is a little high.
Go ahead flame on, just remember when pointing a finger you have 3 pointing back at you

[Q]-Posting YouTube videos from Eris

I recently tried posting a video to YouTube that was taken from the standard camera app on my Eris. When posted to YouTube, the audio codec is messed up. Normal speech comes out massively garbled and then the audio cuts out about a minute in. I converted the 3gp file to an avi on my PC but it comes out tilted 90 degrees when I do that. Does anybody know of a way of sharing a video to youtube and have the audio work properly?
I had the same problem. The only thing i found that fixes it was to just delete the video and upload it again. might take a couple times to fix though. somebody might have the issue solved.....i usually upload through my gallery and not the youtube app, i dont have any problems when uploading from there
I did the exact same things. I even took the file down to my PC and uploaded it from there. It seems like YouTube is not supporting the file format. It plays fine on the phone and plays fine on my PC using quicktime. I uploaded the original video several times and another one and the problem kept happening. I'm also uploading from the gallery by clicking share>YouTube. Any other ideas>
ok here is what i have found out. with my stock video recorder - the sounds comes in for split second then the video just stays on a single frame and doesnt move but the video bar on bottom shows its playing. So then i tried with the Miui camera app i have installed - it plays the video just perfect BUT with no sound. Right now im looking into apps on the market to replace the stock camcorder, found one but it forcloses on me after recording. Its called "anCorder" try it out it might work for u. I know for a fact that the app called "videocam Illusion" does upload to Youtube and does upload just great with no problems.
Thanks Ricky. I will try those.
Ancorder definitely FCed just as you end your video recording. Videocam illusion did great in a small upload test. I noticed the format was .mov instead of .3gp so I think that helped.

[Q] Videos From EVO LTE Not Playing On Google Plus

I apologize in advance for this one...
Video's created on my EVO LTE and uploaded to Google Plus play fine for most people, but they won't play on my sister's laptop!
When she is logged into her G+ account and clicks on any video's I have uploaded from my EVO, a new window opens and displays only the first frame. Clearly, her laptop is interpreting the video as a photo.
I thought the issue must be with her laptop, because others have been able to play my videos. However, as a test, I uploaded a short video created with my web cam, and she can stream that just fine.
So apparently this is an issue between the EVO's videos and her laptop. My first thought was that some codec is not installed on her laptop, but Google converts any uploaded videos anyway.
Youtube videos play fine on her laptop.
The same exact thing is happening with my mom's Kindle fire, but I'll troubleshoot that separately I guess.
Btw, I tried several Google searches. apparently only my sister and mom are having this issue!
Anybody aware of a forum for G+ streaming video issues?

I never tried to see my videos on G yet. I'll try it out see what happens

HTC One slow when playing .MKV

I use my phone to watch movies from time to time and some of my series are in .mkv files. I use MplayerX to decompress and watch these files. I recently watched Django Unchained on my phone (in .mp4 format) and it was playing smoothly, however whenever I use .mkv files the picture seems to lag and sometimes the audio doesn't synchronize with the video. Is this because of the app or is it too much for the phone to handle?
Note: Each of these was in 720p.

My Epic 4G (first-gen Galaxy S) can play 720p mkvs fine. No way that's too much for your phone to handle. Try MX Player's H/W+ decoder.

I tried to activate that, but it said that HW was not available for the file.

mp4 and mkv are just containers. They tell us nothing about the actual codec of the video. But if HW decoding is not available, then the file might be 10 bit h264, which is too much for even some computers. You're not going to get perfectly smooth playback on a phone then.
Tried Dice?

Re: HTC one slow
Try using mxplayer but not with H/W decoder.
Use the S/W decoder. My mkv videos play seamlessly on my One.

Definitely bull****, don't listen to this, I have One X and it smoothly plays 720p, there's videos actually showing exactly that, on One X. So, it's some other issue. Try enabling hardware decoder or disabling - either or might be the key.

Use MXplayer with custom codec..optionally install elemental X kernel and even with a slight OC your HTC ONE will perform well at any app, multimedia file, etc. you throw at it.
I STREAM 1080P BLU-RAY rips w/ DTS audio from a home theater PC to my HTC ONE M7..using this method.
