I too would love to see what this option does (cause it certainly sounds like something I want to use) - I haven't been able to see ANY difference with it ON/OFF.
Regards.

If the status bar is filled with notification badges (for example : Facebook, sms, gmail icons), there will be an extra badge saying "+1" or "+2" or whatever.

anyone knows why notification count badges aren't available on trebuchet? :|

[Q] Notifications

Okay so this has happened on several themes that I've installed on my phone with this app...For whatever reason if my phone is on vibrate or for that matter with the volume up and I don't hear the notification sound of either a text or email, the notifications do not show up. The only way I know as if I check the notification bar...Is this a known issue?
Thanks

Hi, for now Themer only supports stock notifications to show up (if it's a widget). However they should show up as icon badges (see the Themer Settings Menu - Icon Badges, to see which apps it is set for). Themer doesn't change any sound settings though.
Hope this helps!

"mark as read" or "dismiss" notification from the lockscreen?

Hey there,
I am not sure if i am doing something wrong here... but coming from OnePlus phone, I used to be able to either dismiss or mark-as-read messages for example right from the lockscreen, however, in Reno, when i pull down on the notification to reveal those 2 options, i am then taken to the bar notification screen where all the toggles are above, and only from there I can dismiss or mark-as-read.
Is this the case with ColorOS? or there is some settings need to be changed?

How to get channel of dismissed notification

Several apps I have installed like to post momentary notifications when they perform something in the background (presumably so they don't get killed). These notifications bug the crap out of me and I'd like to disable their respective notification channels. However, they don't appear long enough for me to lower the notification shade and long press on them. So I have tried to determine what channel they come from using numerous notification history apps, but none of these apps have been able to show me what channel the notifications are from. Does anyone know of one of these apps that does show the channel or some other way to determine what channel the notifications come from?

Hi,
Maybe you could try to check in the stock notification history. To find it go to widgets and create a setting shortcut. There will be a list which will contain "Notification Log" or smt like that. Create the shortcut and when you'll see those fast notification just check your history right away. In the best case you'll find the channel, but if you're not lucky, you'll still got the app that does it and turn all its notification off (if it is really annoying)

I'm on Samsung Galaxy S20+ so the settings shortcut doesn't work. I have no difficulty getting the offending application, there are dozens of apps that will show a notification history, but I've been unable to find one that shows the notification channel.

If the settings shortcut method doesn't work, I don't have any other alternatives. I've never heard of an app that could retrieve the Channel, but I knew that it was possible to have the Channel ID in the notification log. In Android 11, this "notification history" feature will be added, and you'll have much more infos than right now.
Use the good lock app "Nice Catch".

Question How to Hide Persistent App Icon

So I'm coming from a pixel 6 pro to the galaxy s23 ultra. It's my first Samsung phone so I'm still getting familiar with the Samsung flavor of Android.
Is there a way to hide/not display an apps persistent notification icon from the status bar? I use a diabetic monitoring app(xdrip+) which has to always be running for obvious reasons. The app produces a graph which is always visible when I pull down the notification bar, I like that peice and want to keep it. However having the icon displayed in the status bar at all times is an eye sore.
On the pixel (and previously my oneplus 7 pro) I could set the notification to "silent" and it would hide the icon but would still display the graph in the notification bar. I can't find a way to mirror that on my galaxy s23. I can disable the persistent notification all together, but then I lose access to the handy graph.
When the notification shade is down and all notifications are visible you tap and hold the notification you want to change and after a moment a few options will appear and you tap settings and it takes you yo settings for that notification

I tried that, and setting it to "silent" didn't do anything sadly. I also tried disabling the notification entirely but that sadly made the graph go away as well.

Ahhhhh thank you. I fooled around a bit in there before but didn't realize that there were sub options within sub options. Thank you so much for the help, I'm now able to hide the icon.
