I won't ask why, but..... I strongly suspect that you are going to get the same answer as you got in your other threads with this question.

No,

I'm sure it will be more than possible. They just overclocked the Nexus7 to 1.7+ from 1.3 (actually to 2.0Ghz but it's not entirely stable I think). Once we get kernel source and the devs get a chance to work their magic I'll bet it'll be possible. However, there comes a point when enough is enough...and this little breast is more than capable "as is". To much more is overkill for what a cell phone is needed (used) for.

Most surely not directly as is. There will need to be changes or modifications of some kind in order for things to work correctly. The Nexus 4 doesn't havean external sd so won't have code to read one. Ours will need it. The 4 doesn't have native LTE, so their kernel probably is not set up to control that. I'm no kernel developer so I might be off base here...if so, someone please set the record straight. Thanks in advance.

Read sk8erwitskil's kernel thread in Original Development.

1.7 should be more than possible without doing damage and Sk8rwitskil plans on it..actually he's planning on going over 1.7

well i guess computer tech geeks would know this,i just use the phone,i dont know the components to build it.... all i know is setCPU and tegrak are used to undervolt, where tegrak was used on stock
i used it on my SGs2,didnt know it was dependant on computer architecture, because seems setCPU is used on a multitude of different phones
with that said, was system tuner able to do that??

System tuner worked for me on DaG custom gingerbread kernel. was able to oc to 1.83 stable and did do some undervoltage playing, but went to ics. Was not able to get it working on any ics roms. From what i have seen/read until devs get source they are very limited on modifying kernels to allow this.

Week of 7/24, way to pick a tuesday. HTC has said we will get it by the end of july as a soak test and then roll the rest out on august 3rdish, this upcoming friday. We will most likely see it this upcoming week or the week after barring any trouble verizon has.

Agreed. This just looks like the same chart that was "leaked" earlier this week, except for the release dates it just said "TBD". Someone probably shopped it then sent it to Android websites.

Yes, once the OTA drops, kernel source isn't too far behind, and that's always good for development.

I wish the mods would just make a rule about ICS update thread not being allowed any more.
Also ASOP is the future of our rezound and maybe Jellybean without the sense crap.

Most people bought the phone do to the specs and not sense, we know we can come here and get a sense-less rom.

Well? Are our phones and the Canadian version compatible with each other?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda premium
I'm not an expert (by any stretch), but no... I don't believe we can run this... although it is exciting that CM10 for the E973 has come that far.
I remember reading the comments of a user or a dev much more knowledgeable than I... he said that E973 can run E970 kernels, and E970 can run E973 kernels, but where the E973 has a leg up is that they can run Nexus 4 kernel... or something to that effect. I can't remember who said that and I tried searching for the post but can't find it, sorry.
Nevertheless... we are getting closer day by day, I would assume, and once this phone is running CM10...I'll be hanging up my flashing gloves for at least a year, probably two.
Yeah, we can't run this. The Canadian one can boot Nexus 4 kernels for some reason, hence 4.2, but we can't. It's stupid that all the variants are different.
That sucks I wonder if we will ever get a cm10.1 ROM why do the phones have to be so different.

Progress!
Alright, we could start seeing some progress on root/custom ROMs soon. With those things, I'd have no reason whatsoever to even consider the OnePlus 3
Just the kernel I think.
Does this include everything needed for a custom ROM? Camera HAL? Fingerprint sensor driver?
This isn't progress. This is kernel source. Axon Pro's kernel source was also released.

Except this time around they're actually considering unlocking the bootloader. With everything they announced thus far, it seems like it could really be true. Of course, they can always change their mind about it later.

Wouldn't this help with development if the bootloader does get unlocked? Obviously it's useless to us at the moment if half of us still don't have the phone in our hands.

If you wanted to compile your own kernel, sure. There is nothing here to base a rom off of though. Bottom line is its useless without a boot loader unlock, no matter how many of us have the phone in our hands.

The kernel source code is what's needed from the manufacturer for custom Roms. Everything else can be extracted from the device. This can give a developer a headstart on device trees before the bootloader unlock.
