It is quite easy to root your phone. Read the instructions carefully. Like one click tools

I have a question about that site, it says it removes all personal information from your phone. Does it do a wipe?

I assume you are talking about HTCDEV and the bootloader unlock..Sometimes it does, sometimes doesnt. It would be safe to backup any pictures etc. before you unlock. It will reset your rom to factory defaults, like it was a new phone. Again as far as sd card data.. Sometimes it wipes it, sometimes it doesnt.

It wiped my phone when I unlocked the boot loader using HTCDev. Good luck!

it wiped everything of my phone including sdcard, good job i had a backup! (using htcdev)

Yea, either way just make a back up of all your personal stuff to be safe!

Yes, I recommend using titanium back up to back up your personal data

Titanium backup won't work without root so they can't use it to backup before unlocking the bootloader!

I assumed that he rooted already lol

S-Off while on custom ROM (Stock w/ Goodies)

So I plan on finally S-Off-ing my phone Saturday (most likely) and I'm running the latest version of Stock w/ Goodies. Can I attempt it through the ROM or would I need to flash a stock, rooted version of Sense first?

Who me
Why don't you just flash the stock rooted if that's what's being asked for. I mean its not really a big deal to flash a ROM. Why take a risk

I used the faceplam method on stock with goodies and it worked for me perfectly.
I have done it both ways and worked fine. That said its always better to follow instuctions to a T. So depending what method you use if it asks for a stock Rom I would just go ahead and revert back to stock to b safe! Good luck!

I used DirtyRacoon method, it shouldn't depend on the ROM and my rec, try pac man rom or rootbox afterwArds.

Not sure if there is a mod floating around somewhere. Why don't you send mikey a PM? He might be able to help you out with that.

[Q] Any way to flash Beats onto the Max?

I still have my HTC One from last year, and I have noticed a big change in the audio output ever since HTC's contract with Beats was over. At any rate, is there a way to flash Beats Audio to the Max?
I posed the same question here a few weeks ago and was told no. But was told to try the ViPER4Android_FX which is a flashable zip. You can find reference to it in these threads.

You should at least s-off while you can so preserve the option to root later. You can stay stock while s-off and even while rooted. I have.

On stock kernel you are unable to make changes to /system partition even with root. This removes that.
Appreciate the info and your efforts, thank you!

Also so this question isn't asked a million times ,"How do I know if the kernel flashed properly?" . Look at your default.prop , it will say ro.secure=0 instead of 1 . Or your changes will stick on reboot. I figure I would just toss that out there before someone felt the need for clarification.

This kernel likely does not contain exFAT drivers. They are not included in the kernel source from HTC and have to be added back in manually
Can this be used on Stock rooted ROM or a custom ROM?
