help! in dire need of assistance!! - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

ok,
So like an idiot, i began the S-OFF process without reverting my SuperCID. I cannot get past step 8, and i am having errors flashing my RUU.
Right now i cannot get past the bootloader. If i try to fastboot reboot, it takes me back to the bootloader. If i try a reboot, it takes me back to the bootloader.
Is there something that i can flash to get me back and running? I have tried numerous things, and i really need my phone back tonight. Grandfather is in the hospital, and i have no way to contact anyone except through facebook / email.
does anyone have some ideas, or know what i need to do? I honestly dont care about root or s-off, i can do that later. Right now i just need a bootable phone.
help!

adb wont even find my device, so i am not getting any errors. is there a working RUU i can rename to PJ53IMG, and flash that through the bootloader?

right, i tried this and had no success. the bootloader went through the process, and began to load the file, but did not finish the process. Could i possibly have tried flashing the wrong one?

i tried using the one from unlimited.io, renaming it to PJ53IMG, but it would not flash... in theory that would do the trick right?

Probably not. Use the one provided in Andy's thread. ADB is probably not working because debugging has been turned off.
Have you tried the recovery? Check to see if that works. If not try to fastboot a recovery. The command is "Fastboot flash recovery". Try with TWRP. If that takes then try to flash a ROM with that.

Bricked???

I have loaded this radio then I booted into recovery and tried to install Das BAMF Sense 3.0 RC4.9 from zip and the download starts then about halfway though it goes back to the bootloader screen with the android guys skateboarding. It has fastboot highlighted with the only options being bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader, and power down. I have tried to reboot, boot back into recovery and restore but it keeps going back to this screen...any idea's??

Well, if you can get into the bootloader you are not bricked. Go to Jcase's stock recovery thread and get the rooted stock PG5... to load in hboot. It will essentially get you back to rooted Froyo and then you can reflash the recovery and whatever rom you want.
Or I believe you can rename a ROM to PG5... and flash it in recovery as well, although I've never tried that method.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
I've never heard of anyone flashing a rom through hboot by renaming it to pg05img or whatever it is. I wouldn't try that without evidence of out working

Need help ASAP

Alright i need help badly. I consider myself an advanced noob in installing roms and kernals on a phone. I have the rezound. I unlocked it about a week about and went through the step by step instructions. I installed ziggys kernal. I was getting some bootloops but not to many until this morning. My phone kept bootlooping. I would take the battery out and put it back and it would do it again. I tried wiping the date cache and dalvik. Nothing. I then formatted all to ext3. After i did that it said i need to install a rom. I try to restart my phone and it just stays on the HTC screen. I tried to do the factory restore. Nothing. I have to put my sd card in after i get into recovery because when i go to the bootloader screen the HBOOT does something and then asks me if i want to do an update. I tried and hit yes and it did it then reboots but nothing. When i hit no it just wants me to reboot my phone, which does nothing for me. As it is right now my phone wont load. it just stays on the HTC screen. HELP please

The other half of the problem is that it sounds like he formatted ext3 and wiped his ROM. So, he'd have to reboot back into recovery and restore a backup or drop a new ROM on the phone via USB.
Grab the RUU and start all fresh again.

This is one of the reasons I have not tried to hack this device. Although I may unlock/root my Rezound I'm not in a hurry to. It's really a great device. Just too expensive for me to maybe mess up. Especially since its our own fault if we do. Can't blame the carrier/manufacturer for not paying to fix/replace either. Hopefully you get it fixed soon. I know I wouldn't want to have to go through all that either.

The answer should be in the CleanRom thread but as far as I know if you flashed Ziggy's Kernel, you should reflash it and that should solve the problem.

It shouldn't. You can't brick with unlock S-On. If you can get to HBOOT, you are fine. And there is no way to overwrite HBOOT yet.

And does it need to be said that this phone has been out for less than a month? Maybe we should give the devs a chance to work out the kinks before we start flashing.
I *really* miss WiFi tethering that I used to do with my DInc, but I am not about to root in the first two weeks of ownership before I see good, dependable feedback from the community.
I love this phone too much.

Not trying to knock you but I don't see the point in waiting. Flashing a rom is fairly straightforward and even flashing kernels is for the most part. I had an Incredible prior to this and I am absolutely in love with my phone...that's why I read how to do things properly and learn from others mistakes.
Take the plunge! It's great on the otherside

There is a wifi tether app that doesn't require root. Koush is the dev. I tried it and it worked. That was the only thing I would have needed root for also. You should be able to find it if you search for it. If not, I'll find the link.

Need help from those who have successfully installed cm9 on boot manager

K I'm using boot manager to install a cm9 Rom and it keeps failing at creating boot.img. I don't know what I'm doing wrong since I've herd of others installing cm9 roms sucessfully using boot manager. Maybe it's something in my settings? Tried making a thread at init2winit forums but have not gotten any response over there. Anyone here willing to help me out? I would greatly appreciate it.

Remember to disable logging in Superuser. That also causes some major issues. Just open superuser hit settings icon, and where it says logging set it to off. You should have much better luck that way

The Rezound is supported by bootmanager.
I've never been able to get boot manager to work correctly since I've started using it back on my dinc2. Had issues installing some roms on that phone too. Which is why I think my problem may be the settings I am using. Is there specific settings I need to use for the rezound?
EDIT: After I changed the settings SU I tried again at work and it froze still and even rebooted during the install.

I'm gonna try this. I've been having a serious bug with my phone where it essentially will stop responding to touch. If I do a simpull it starts working again but it'll stop soon after. Done factory resets, cache wipes, etc. Now I'll have to try this just in case. (I already have a new phone ordered on its way but I might as well cover all my bases)
So this is just the totally stock software from HTC and I don't need a root or an unlocked bootloader or anything? Cuz I haven't done any of that.

[Q] Trying to reset boot loader from Revolutionary to original boot loader. Help?

Long story short (to avoid me from pulling my hair out of my head.) I have an HTC Thunderbolt which I rooted and installed a custom rom on (using the Revolutionary boot loader). It had an issue where it regularly wouldn't start up into the original rom OS and keep restarting at the HTC logo screen. After I installed the custom rom it was ok for a while but then permanently got stuck with the issue of not starting up into the rom OS and keeps restarting at the HTC logo screen.
Verizon sent me a replacement phone (outside of my warranty - for free - which they rarely do), but I need to send the old phone back. I was able to use the new phone they sent and my old SD card to get the original rom files onto it and then install the original rom via the Revolutionary boot loader but I can't get the original boot loader to install and replace the Revolutionary boot loader now. I tried lots of guides, and finally tried this guide again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1310014&highlight=stock+ruu
I don't think I can use that guide though because it sounds like you need to be able to boot into the rom OS first for the tbolt tool to recognize the phone. I can't boot into the rom OS, I can only access the boot loader screen (which is currently Revolutionary.)
Anyone have any idea how I can load the original boot loader?
(I would have posted this as a reply to the thread I linked above, but my account is newish and doesn't have enough posts for my account to be allowed to post there. And I have til Wednesday - January 23, to send back the old phone to Verizon so they don't charge me for the replacement phone.) Any help is greatly appreciated.
Reroot it if you can and use the allinone tool to unroot.

Hi,
I'm trying to follow this video guide you sent me, but it appears I need to be able to start my phone into the OS. My phone does not start into the OS, and the only thing I can get it to start into is the boot loader screen (otherwise it just keeps restarting at the HTC logo screen.)
Is there a way I can uninstall "Revolutionary" and reinstall the original boot loader when I only have access to the boot loader screen?
Thanks.

Because I can't start my phone into the Android OS, therefor I can't reroot it as far as I know, and I don't think I can use the All-In-One Tool. Can I? Is there a way around the issue I'm having where my phone only can start into the boot loader menu?

Yes, this seems prospective. I have some high hopes right now and am going to try to do this right now. I just have to let my battery charge a little first because it seems that it's too low to let it try to install. Unfortunately my HTC logo screen restart problem is also coupled with some weird issue where it keeps trying to turn on while its charging, so it takes a long time (if it's even charging?) to charge.
If this works, I will be so grateful for your response.

It worked! I was able to get rid of Revolutionary, and install the original hboot bootloader. Yay!
/*Now one last question, and I may be mistaken, but shouldn't the top of the boot loader screen say "LOCKED" or something in similar in pink? If so, how do I reset it to say that? I want to make the phone look as genuinely unrooted as possible. */ NEVERMIND, it all worked out.
I just wonder if I missed anything and they'll still be able to tell I rooted it at one point? I loaded the original Android OS rom, and followed post 7 off that guide to restore the original hboot bootloader. Do I need to do something specifically to reset S-OFF? Or will it already be reset?
Thank you.
I think you have to be unlocked to put s on. Then lock it afterwards. Kind of reverse the process.

Also, I have never unrooted a phone to send it to Verizon or asurion. Just saying...

Ok, so by default S-OFF is set to ON? How do I go about setting it to ON?
I have no idea off the top of my head but I know the allinonetool will revert your phone to completely factory specs. That is why I suggested it in the first place. Going back to s on is no easy task and you need to be very familiar with adb to do it.

OoO hmm. Is there a way I can get the All-In-One tool to recognize my phone from the boot loader menu only? (Since it doesn't start up into the Android OS.)

I dunno but you should try fastboot flashing an Ruu. Unlock and s off again and then run the allinonetool. I know it's a pain but it if you want to be totally stock that is the best way to do it.

Ok. I'm pretty sure I flashed an RUU already? Not 100% positive. Is that what resets the OS rom to the original Android OS rom?
Also, what is the difference between fastboot flashing and just flashing it from the regular boot loader menu?
Sorry to sound newbish.
Thanks.

Oh, gotcha. The only reason why I didn't mention the tool was because when I tried to unroot with it, it wouldn't let me. It basically said another program was running and I figured you were experiencing the same issue.
Glad it worked. Disconnecktie is a very reliable source for this device.
