[Q] galaxy can't finish backup - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I have a galaxy s3 rooted with cwm 5.5 something and I'm using revolution Rom by Mike based on JB. I wanted to do backup so I'd be able to recover it at some point in the future, however it says that it can't backup system somehow, shall I update cwm through ODIN and then check?

Have you got enough space on your sd card to perform a backup?

I've got round about 2 gb

Using rom manager app you should be able to get latest cwm which you have already.
I would try out cm10.0 stable

Cwm recovery

Hey all, just wanted to ask about cwm recovery. I have made backups always before flashing new rom. Atm I have only 1 backup, thing that is buggering me is that backup is size of allmost 3gb..backup file being 1.3gb and "blobs" being 1.4gb.. Is backups supposed to be that big?

Its backing up your whole system its common sense that depending on how much crap you have installed its going to be that big

[Q] Can i brick my phone when by rom-installation all right?

Dear Community, when i make all right by flashing a rom can i brick my Phone?
Thanks for asks.
If you did all flashing process right And if the rom is ok, no, but if you mess up with root files, it can get bricked, i mean with file explorers, after the flashing it.

Don't worry you can make a CWM backup , you can restore your phone that way. If you were to brick your phone and restored via Odin, you can go back to the backup and it will restore everything before the brick  . Just install the rom the way it tells you too.

I had the same problem once. I backed up the original rom fine using CWM but when trying to restore it, it failed.
I then had to flash Stock rom to get the phone working.
From this reason I have flashed TWRP, although I always preferred CWM
Backup on TWRP is working good ?
