I've been trying it, since i couldn't wait for official release (i'll buy it if i like it as soon as it is avaliable),
100% resolution, max details gets quite laggy when rainning. I've tried 80% resolution, high detail, and it keeps lagging. Maybe its because my ****ty version, thats what it is. And moreover,i though graphics would be way better. The textures are worse than Counter Strike, a 1999 pc game.

Mine is completely buttery smooth at 80% and totally playable at 100%.

That just makes me think I got a faulty device more. My battery life sucks, too. So, is there any benchmark app for Nexus 10 that I can use to make sure?

Hmm, on GTA III, anything above 50% was a noticeable FPS drop, with 100% being the worst FPS drop. It was consistently low FPS though, which some people might of been able to stand (I couldn't lol). Not sure if that's the same case with Vice City or not though, but I have a feeling it will be.

Actually Vice City runs much better than GTA III on the Nexus 10, for whatever reason .

Check out this guys channel for excellent hands on Nexus 10 reviews and comparison as well. He compares it to the iPad 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 4, and Transformer Prime in almost every facet imagineable. Web browsing, general speed, gaming, hardware design, screen resolution and brightness, boot up time, camera tests, hdmi out, etc.. etc... Probably the most thorough and unbiased reviews of the Nexus 10 out there.

No just got an ota cable and it works out the box
Runs great on my N10 at the highest settings. A lot better than on my one x which has a much smaller screen!

Have you tried lowering the Quality setting?
Yes I did but it feels the same, neither Low , Medium or High seem to feel different.
Does Z2 run seamlessly on your Legend?

It runs ok just like Zenonia did. Maybe just lag a bit compared to Zenonia. But no significant lag that makes the game unplayable.

There has been a lot of discussion about whether a 1080P screen on a 5 inch device really makes that much of a difference. There will probably be a hit in terms of battery life and responsiveness so is the higher resolution worth it?
Since some people here have already seen the phone, I wanted their opinion. How much of a difference is there between the screen on the DNA versus say the One X ? In what activities does 1080P make the biggest difference: reading, video, games ?

I cannot see any pixelation on my OneX and even my 267 ppi Note2 with very small text.
It is still more like a gimmick than a real deal. I can see many people get crazy about it, but the user experience is not very different from my old OneX, even identical.
I thinl in terms of smoothness, speed and screen, Android high end phones and iPhones has reached the limit. Now software and battery life are more important.
. That's why i will keep my Note2 for quite a long time.
In a game with good lighting graphics, etc it might make a difference. Not sure if the s4pro will be able to handle games that look good enough to make a noticeable difference, if there is any. Games theoretically could be made to look smoother without AA with a really high ppi too.

In my opinion ppi is more relevant in rading text than playing games.
And there is no game support 1920x1080 pixels resolution yet.

Hmm I was looking at the Note 2 next to the GS3 in a Sprint store and the Note 2 had whites that were whiter by far and was much brighter. It's possible their GS3's screen had issues after constantly being on for half a year though.

Yeah 1080P games and video will eat up that 11gb pretty quickly. I suspect that we will have to wait for the Galaxy S4 for a 1080P phone to be done right,with a microSD slot and a big battery.
Still web reading is probably my no.1 use on my phone and that doesn't require storage. If 1080P significantly improves the reading experience, that alone would be worth it for me.

well Batman Returns is not even a 1080 game and its 2.25 gigs, so I kindly dis agree with you Sir.
The size will depending on length and style of the game. If you made wind waker 1080p then it wouldn't have to be as bad as something that's supposed to look real.
I do think that the rom is going to feel small in a year or so for anyone who likes to play a lot of 3D exploring games though. You'll probably only be able to keep a couple installed at a time, maybe 3 if you don't keep much music stored. But most people tend to play 1 or 2 games at a time so it actually might be an annoyance but not a deal breaker..

Anw, it's about personal opinion, and I think everyone agree that both phones are good devics. For you guys, high physical resolution maybe very important, while I prefer longer battery usage (normally 7 -10 hours screen on time) and interesting features (s pen, true multi- tasking with split windows).

i heard that Samsung had to turn the brightness down on the s3 because of the battery :laugh:
In the real world we generally don't hold our phone right against our eyes, because it would be out of focal range for us. Which means that virtually nobody will notice the difference between this phones screen, the GS3, the iphone 5, or the GN II. If you do notice a difference your probably the person that also says they can feel the earth rotating.

You are completely right, it is about personal opinion. For me personally the dealbreaker on the Note II was the phones size (mostly width) and slippery plastic (i sure as hell wouldnt add a case to make it wider), and had nothing to do with the screen resolution. The note II does have nice battery and storage, but that doesnt change how huge it feels in my hand. I also care about how a phone looks, and the first impression I get on a Note II is that its ridiculous looking especially when holding one up to your head for phone calls.
I preordered mine. I've watched countless reviews and between the wireless charging back, s4 processor, 2GB Ram, the performance with near identical hardware outperforms the Nexus 4 in almost every synthetic test.

Yes, but why should you have to? It appears that the usage model HTC has gone forward with is to carry two devices, one phone and one external memory device. Thats two power cords and two devices where ever you go. That is a terrible usage model to be designing a device around. How can anyone expect that model to succeed in today's world of 64 gig + phones?
They should move to a one device usage model, where your device has enough memory to have at least ten apps, and take pictures and videos, and still utilize the cloud. A minimum of 32 gigs is needed with the new features (photo sphere) and 1080p recording.......

Or just have same specs as Butterfly J with microSD slot....I am sure Verizon had everything to do with it.

So I got the Nexus 10 (sold iPad 3 to get it) and I am impressed with it. The screen is amazing, I have good battery life, and excellent performance.
However, streaming Netflix is not as crisp, the lack of tablet optimized apps is annoying, and reading is kind of awkward. I don't like landscape reading and portrait mode is too tall.
It seems like the huge resolution is ahead of it's time and I am sure it's just a matter of waiting for apps to catch up.
These are a few things that have been bothering me lately with this tablet.
Anyone else have these thoughts or know how to get passed the early adoption period? I am debating whether or not to sell it and get the Nexus 7. Seems like a reasonable (more universal) screen resolution with plenty of power. Also, seems like a good size for reading and web surfing.

After writing this post, I found some awesome review videos from YouTuber "oode". After watching those, I spent some time tweaking and getting my n10 set up. It helped me realize what a rad tablet we have in the n10.
I still have a few annoyances to figure out with movies (best player to use and rip settings), HD Netflix streaming, and better battery life tips. I am sure more Googling and XDA searching will help answer these.
Before you sell it and get a Nexus 7, see if anyone you know has one and try it out. It would suck for you to sell the 10, get a 7 and find out you regret it. This is my second 10 inch tab, and at first it can see overwhelming, especially with the 10's resolution, but just keep playing with it. It will grow on you. Before long you will have no issues reading in portrait mode. For me its like reading a hard cover book without the weight and thickness. I hope you grow to like, and as for apps, I dealt with that with my last tablet.....not to many tablet optimized apps, and now I am seeing it again. Not a deal breaker for me. I would rather have apps playing catch up then my tablet be out dated in a month. Just my opinions.
Don't get a Nexus 7. The screen isn't very good and screen lift.
I just got mine today and well i can say i am really impressed with it , and i love it. I know there are not many apps optimized for the tab but yeah its not that bad for me. Also My netflix streaming is awesome, whats happening to yours ?
If you feel the screen is too big try using a 15 inch laptop for a while which will put the Nexus 10 inch screen with it's higher screen resolution in/to perspecive.
I have not touched my laptop since getting the Nexus 10 which was not the case with my Galaxy tab 7.7 inch screen which I have sold.
I find, just like my laptop, that I don't need any apps for using the Web and there are plenty of stand alone apps for navigation, music, office, games etc.
I hold the Nexus 10 in landscape like a laptop for viewing videos and web sites with a lot of full width detail so that I don't need to zoom, otherwise I use portrait.
Think twice before selling the Nexus 10 for it is the only tablet which gives a high definition Netbook performance in an even more portable format.
Try the Ocean browser too for it makes Web browsing on the Nexus 10 very fast and it supports Flash too.
I feel the same way OP. I had a nexus 7 and I loved it. Netflix and video media on the nexus 10 is a turn down. The screen is amazing but I sold my nexus 7 for a better media viewing experiece. The watching of media or movies isn't good at all on the Nexus 10.
I'm also debating of keeping or returning.

I don't see the problem with Netflix. Seriously. Plays fine and looks as good as it can considering Netflix streams at 720p at best.
Don't see the issue with any other media either. There are issues with codecs but that's a problem with the Nexus7 as well, just comes with the AOSP territory.

Same here i cant find the problem with netflix, mine looks great. As good as it gets i can say.
Netflix video and audio don't match on my tablet. Also, Frames skips after a while.
Is my tablet defective??

I feel the same way OP. I'm on my second one after returning the first for light bleed, go figure this ones worse. I like the size it just doesn't have the performance I was expecting. Yeah its got a huge rez, but my N4 feels 10x more fluid than the N10. Even just basic stuff like swiping to another screen feels better on the N4. IMO the android experience is just a lot better on the N4, which I find myself using even when I have the N10 sitting next to me.

I did a factory restore a few hours ago wanting to return the Nexus, I reinstalled Netflix right now and it is running good. That's strange. I'm also not getting any WiFi drops like I was getting before. I'm going to keep an eye on this.

Did you get tired typing so much information about your conclusion? And you must be very well placed in the tech community to pass judgement on a device that SOLD, not shipped, sold, one million units last month alone. Screen lift? Seriously? that is so last month's news.

Apples to Apples the N10 is the better hardware platform. No question. It has both a front and rear facing camera. Has a display that might rival the retina display on the iPad, etc.
Get the N7 if you want a tab that will fit in a jacket or back pocket, can be held in one hand and can be bought for under $300. It really comes down to size, and your intended use. The N7 is not for bragging rights. It's for having a pure Google device in the same price you can get a Kindle or Nook for.
I'm here to read about how the new 10's see what problems they might be having, etc. But I am VERY happy with my N7 and take it everywhere with me. When I get the N10 I'll be keeping the N7.

Well, my own anecdotal Nexus 7 experience is that I account for FIVE of the devices. 4 16gb units and 1 32gb. Every single one of them had a major defect, including my current 32gb.
First one had a bad USB connector as well as major light bleed, but never had time to develop the screen lift issue because it was on the way back to Asus in a matter of hours.
Second one had astoundingly bad light bleed in 8 places, once again sent back before the screen had time to lift.
Third one had modest light bleed, but creaked, and within a week the screen lifted an epic amount. I was worried I might slice my hand.
The fourth also had bad light bleed, came shipped with a broken tab on the back cover so there was always a gap on the left side, and (wait for it) the screen was doing an epic lift. Still waiting on its replacement to come back from Asus.
And my final and current model is an October production 32gb that seemed pretty good at first, almost no light bleed and the least washed-out looking display of the bunch. And within two days the screen was lifting.
Now, I only purchased 2, my first 16gb and my current 32gb, both at retail stores. I should also note that it cost me $80 so far in RMA shipping.
I like the form factor for some things, mostly books and surfing on the throne. I'm satisfied with the performance, and not unhappy with the purchase price. It does what it does pretty well. But it's built like a 80's Hyundai.
Love the N10, playing full encoded BD 720p movies with no problems. Haven't tested the 1080p BD encodes yet.
Netflix runs great, Slingplayer runs good.
My N7 goes everywhere with me. It has no issues and was a first run batch.. light bleed? who knows, i dont put mine in a pure black enviorment with max brightness just to find a problem. IMO once it's reported a few times, some poeple go out of thier way to find fault.
I agree the N10 gonna take some time to get used to to read on. But playing games on is fun....

It either increases performance or causes stuff to break (well, I guess it could also do both ). It's worth checking out if you haven't though.
As for being bummed out; meh, I sold my Nexus 7 for a Nexus 10 because of the specs. A15 ARM processor, Mali-T604 GPU, 2560x1600 resolution, that just destroyed the Nexus 7's specs. It seems the Nexus 10 can run hot enough after a long enough period of load to throttle the CPU frequency lower, which is a slight concern. Nexus 4 also does this, but I'm not entirely sure if such a thing occurs on the Nexus 7 or not.
My main interest in getting a Nexus 10 was gaming. However, when playing DEAD TRIGGER and SHADOWGUN: DeadZone, I feel that the N10's size is a bit... too much. Getting a controller should easily solve this little problem though
But in any case, the Nexus 10 also has HDMI-out, rear-facing camera, 5GHz WiFi support, LED light notification, better front-facing camera, and front-facing speakers. Nexus 7 doesn't have any of that (unless something changed with the newer models).
No issues with Netflix for newer videos, older stuff doesn't look great on anything. Videos I'm streaming from PC look awesome and I just use a Nook touch for my reading, need eink for that. Yea some apps don't look as great as they could, but nothing as bad as an iPhone app on the iPad.
I think a lot of my thoughts and feelings stem from just coming from an iPad with thousands of tablet optimized apps, down to less than 100 on the n10. When it comes down to it, I use my tablet primarily for reading, web browsing, videos (YouTube, Netflix and Movies), taking notes, and very light gaming. I don't use that many apps on my tablet. However, I have a lot of apps on my gNexus since it has an internet connection 24/7. The only reason I use my laptop is when I want to do some real PC gaming.

Oode's reviews are the main reason why I bought my Nexus 10! After seeing his enthusiasm for the tablet I was sold. Google need to cut that dude a cheque.
1) Smart Dock works with Note 3
2) Performance is cut up to half naturally because two 1080p screens are being displayed.
Example:
Anomaly 2 benchmark for the high benchmark I would score over 600k normally, with HDMI I would only score above 300k.

Interesting finding, thanks for that! The question now would be: Do you really FEEL the difference in everyday context? Like browsing the web, writing stuff, switching windows, watching videos (playing games )? Or is only a benchmark ("look what a monster my device is") thing?

If you compare it directly to the non-hdmi experience then yes you will "feel" it. It still is a smooth experience - just not "buttery" smooth. The performance is still acceptable for most things outside of the most demanding apps and games.
Interesting to note that while most things will be mirrored, playing videos using the default video app plays it only through hdmi. A 4K video I took was not mirrored and thus played perfectly over hdmi. Youtube and netflix were mirrored on both screens, and never got to high resolution like it does on my roku/xbox./ps3.

Works great for my daily things, and even the few games I play.
Size and spec of the s7 edge makes it my daily device and it works perfectly so far.
Coming from ip6s+, but also had before that N6p,N5 and s6 edge. So I compare it to good devices and not some low end device..

its fast, dunno how good it is compared with other newer phones, but everything runs smooth, games are awesome!
Setting everything was super fast, did a reboot and charging up to take a break, coming from a Note 4, which was reasonably fast, but this thing has zero lag so far.

this is a great phone, you can get the performance that you want and easily to use :good:
Snappiness of this phone has put my Note 4 to shame, particularly with switching to and from camera to gallery.
The sd card max transfer speeds are not up to par for 2016. Everything else is great.
Galaxy S7 edge is really fast, I do all multi tasking stuff like running multiple apps, playing game, downloading and auto updates parallely and its still runs with full speed. like all other samsung mobiles S7 edge runs with high speed.
No lag for me yet.
I can easily get mine to freeze up or lag.

Same here. There is microlag when scrolling all throughout Touchwiz. For the most part its smooth and seamless but for everyone saying they haven't seen lag, you probably have.
There is just a strong chance that it wasn't sustained lag which makes it easy to be dismissive of it.
It is especially noticeable when coming from the N6P (chalking this up to stock android not being bloated)

Agreed, I have seen micro lag, but nothing to irritating. It got much better when I disabled everything (everything that is dis-ableable anyhow) from Samsung and Verizon as always. Also as always once its rooted we can disable the rest and ti will fly. Its a shame that we have to do that, but it is what it is. I would do anything for an S7 Edge with stock Android... Better yet, a Nexus Edge
Hi, and what about the most performance demanding games? I use these expensive phones as portable consoles and if I invest 800€ into phone, which is price of computer, I expect every single game on google play smooth at 50 fps. But on some ytb videos I have seen some microshutter and fps drops for example in Dead trigger 2, Asphalt 8 or GTA san andreas. Dont know which version it was, but I prefer adreno 530 gpu which is not on market in my country :/ . I actually dont care very much about fast app launching/loadings or appdrawer, but for me most important is FPS when game is already loaded. Or can I lower res to 1080p to eliminate any FPS issue? Did anyone compared gaming exynos vs snapdragon? (not benchmarks, real gaming FPS) .
PS: Please keep hate and comments like phone is not for gaming away, Im listening it all the time. But i am heavy gamer at any platform and if I wanted phone for calls and sms I could stick with my old nokia 3310. But thanks for any possible useful info from owners of this phone
Only time I had lag was with Chrome. I'm using the Samsung browser now and it's fast. The update seems like it made my phone fast not that it was slow. I'm happy. Oh I'm using Nova so that probably helps.
most of it is fast except slight lag once in awhile. fps is slower compare to my oneplus 2
some games are laggier than on my Sony Z3, sometimes the transitions lag as well
