What no skyGo - Nexus 10 General

It looks like British TV network Sky is starting to catch up with the the pace of Android OS upgrades. Today it's launched a new version of its Sky Go mobile TV app, introducing support for 14 new devices along with Android versions 4.1-4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). Today's update brings Sky Go to a wider audience, after an update over the summer first opened it up to ICS phones.
From our own device history, we can confirm that Sky Go supports the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Galaxy S3 LTE, Galaxy Note 2, Sony Xperia T, LG Optimus 4X HD and Jelly Bean'd Galaxy Nexus, amongst others. Notable exceptions include the HTC One X+ and One S, which unfortunately remain unsupported.
Other changes in the new version of Sky Go for Android include improved navigation and various other UI changes.
so the Nexus 4 and 7 get it but no nexus 10 ?
surely this is some kind of cruel wind up?

I know this is a big joke, im new to the android platform and just purchased the Nexus 10 and Sky Go is the one thing lacking from it right now. So just to add salt to the wounds they update the app but dont make it compatible with Nexus 10. My take onit is just that there lazy!!

I think the Nexus 7 is the first Android tablet supported by Skygo so that is a milestone and the Nexus 10 is sure to follow.

Has anyone tried simply installing the apk?

No you can't just randomly get updates like the Nexus S. If you want that, buy the Nexus S.
Thanks! What's about other mobile phones with stock Android? Do they get updates like the Nexus S or that depends on their manufacturer (after few months)?

Only stock Android phone that gets updates straight from Google are the Nexus 1 and Nexus S. Google do not support other devices, you have to depend on the manufacturers for that.
If you wanted this you should have bought a Nexus S.

Thanks! Had to manually load the APK on my Nexus 7 because it's blocked on the play store. Works perfectly.
Only to those devices? I don't see Xperia S included, and I just updated it with Play Store.
"I got my values. So you can keep yours, OK?"

There is a thread for this, but anyway the best phone i can recommend you to buy is the galaxy nexus due to the infinite support. optimus G or the nitro hd are also good options. do not buy the new htc's since they are being replaced every 1 month. Xperia products like the xperia t seem to be very good devices if you can get them but once again best phone for cm 10 is the galaxy nexus

[Q] ANT+ support on N9?

As per subject, I'd like to upgrade for a quicker tablet than my n7 2012 for use with my bike turbo trainer...... but does the n9 have native ANT+ support?
Thanks in advance....
The info I gave on the Nexus Help Forum Google Group about the Nexus 6 applies to the Nexus 9 too:
There's 2 parts to this question:
1. Will Android 5.0 include the ANT+ API's?
If it does, then the Nexus 6 9 will definitely include the ANT+ hardware - as the Nexus devices showcase any new OS functionality. We haven't heard any news about this though, so I doubt it.
2. Will the Nexus 6 9 have ANT+ hardware?
If this is the case, then it should be possible to add the software piece in a custom ROM/AOSP build, just like was done for the Moto G 4G: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/ant-moto-g-4g-maybe-t2875420
or possibly using the ANT+ Enabler app (if you want to pay for it) in the same way as the Nexus 5 and 10: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.z2software.antplus
Fingers crossed.

Looking at the iFixit Nexus 9 teardown, yes it does have ANT+ hardware (the Broadcom BCM4354)!
Note that the patch for the Moto G 4G mentioned above will not work, as that is for a Qualcomm chip.

Marshmallow for Galaxy View out yet?

Does anyone know if Samsung is going to be releasing Marshmallow for Samsung Galaxy View. I hope they are not abandoning it, since we haven't received a single version upgrade.
Anyone else curious if we will be receiving marshmallow, Samsung didn't say they would be abandoning this product.
I feel like we have been abandoned by Samsung for support on Galaxy View.
Also curious. The view is working perfect but i sure hope we will see Marsmallow on it.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I feel like they will have extra motivation to release an update come September when the Lenovo PB2=690N 18" tablet comes out, running Android 6.0.1.
Until then they have no direct competition. I'm frustrated as I got the View mainly to be a giant MIDI controller for music but MIDI support is much worse on Lollipop.
Sky Q works superb on Galaxy View if anyone was curious. Does Samsung give a crap about users with their expensive Galaxy View tablets (at the time)
YouTube TV
YouTube TV does not work on the Galaxy View. I think its the 5.1.1 need to updated. Can not find anyway to update.
