Updates.. are we officially on our own now? - HTC Amaze 4G

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2012/12/htc-android-jelly-bean-device-update-list-leaked/
derp...
as football has said before via twitter nothing for us.. and now via football again is this list (quoted from article)
Apparently, the following devices from HTC will receive an update to Android Jelly Bean, and they are the HTC One X+ (Evitare), HTC One XL (Evita), HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE (Fireball), HTC EVO 4G LTE (Jewel), HTC One SV (K2), HTC One VX (Totem C2), HTC One S (Ville), HTC One S C2 (Ville C2) and the HTC J ISW13HT (Valente). Needless to say, some of the more notable names (in the past, anyways) like the HTC Desire range do seem to be missing, so no love lost there. Perhaps it is time you made an upgrade to your HTC device?

2 different Desires?

Hi Folks
Here on xda-developers the HTC Desire has been linked to the Droid Eris, but checking out the US and European HTC sites they are different phones.
The European Desire doesn't launch until the first week in April (pre-ordered mine yesterday) but it seems the Droid Eris has been out on Verizon for short period already.
Can anyone shed any light?
the droid eris is the hero version in verizon while the htc desire on htc site is the new mobile released in MWC which is nexus one like..
Two totally different phones!!!

Evo 3d GSM version?

So will there be after all a gsm version i know that htc said it wont but then on gsm arena they said tha htc france officialy anouced the gsm version so any news on that, i myself have a hd2 and love the bulid quality, support by hackers (like the DFT and etc) camera, and etc, only thing i hate is the speaker but its not a big problem this phone was great and now its getting old and for my next phone i wanted a htc and the evo 3d is perfect for me but i must know wich im going to by if evo 3d will not be availible and the subbstition for the evo 3d is sammy Galaxy s2
Yes, Evo 3D GSM version even if they don't have GSM version i'll get HTC Pyramid. But so far it's a go for GSM version.

i Hate the pyramid dont know why but i rather get a sammy GS2 then pyramid i realy hope there will be a GSM version
Sure it's a few days old, but Android Central contacted htc about their website and was told there is no gsm version and will be correcting the site soon...

I just don't like the idea of carriers beside Sprint inside the usa getting the evo 3d.. All carriers have exclusive phones. Worldwide is fine with me though.
Did find another source though...

Quoted from the site in your reponse.
"Update: We reached out to HTC directly -- this is just a mistake, and will soon be corrected. No GSM Evo 3D after all."

Dude as I said couple of posts ago, nothing is for sure as HTC France confirmed the gsm version. And if you think a little more, the Incredible was US only but now available in gsm as Incredible S... So wait and see, tomorrow HTC has a pressevent in London, maybe somr info will find it way to the light..

Well only the HTC Sensation (Pyramid) was announced today for release in May. It will be on various networks in Europe and Asia and on T-Mobile in the USA.
I guess this means that we shouldn't expect to see a GSM version of the EVO 3D until September/October like with the original EVO 4G and the Desire HD.
thats said.
looks like then i'll have to go with the sgs 2

I'm not waiting that long. I'll be getting a phone in May or June although I'd rather get one now.
The GSS2 is an option for me and if it had a notification LED and four buttons instead of three it would be the one for sure.
As it is I'll be waiting to see which one is locked down. If the Sensation is locked down like the HTC Incredible then I will look again at the SGS2 and the LG Optimus 3D and the LG Optimus 2X. So far they don't even have root on the Incredible S and developer support seems to be flagging.
Evo 3D gsm = fail. I even put money aside for this thing! Down here we have no CDMA network so my N1 stays put.
SGS2 not a big enough step up for me. I actually feel sad........for a phone

Why sad? We know have a clue and it is pretty much when a lot of us knew it was going to be anyway. Plus based on the leaks it wasn't ready, so I think the extra time is going to be a good thing.
Edit: Thanks for posting that BTW.

Awesome, it will be out right after the phone is discontinued and about a week after Jelly Bean is released.
How hard is it really, to just have a decent upgrade schedule? I mean, ICS came out when, in October? It was at least 6 months ago. How long does it take to put it on a damned phone?
Assholes. Plain and simple. That's HTC's schedule by the way... Who knows how long it will take VZW to load it down with bloat and actually push it out the door.
September?
JB is for tablets only. At least that's what they were saying.

First off ICS is a major overhaul. Second we've been getting constant leaks so it's not like htc has been sitting idly on their hands.

Yes, and by the time they release this and people run it for a day or two, we will be seeing threads about how disappointing it is and why didn't we get sense 4 and I'm going back to my leaked custom and blah blah blah...LOL! Just wanted to summarize future events for you all.
In all seriousness, we have plenty to play with now and I'm just going to enjoy what we have from our great devs and patiently wait for the OTA.
Just waiting for source....

April: not
May: didn't happen
June: we'll see.
THIS whole issue is Android's biggest bugaboo. The carriers need to get a freaking clue.
At this rate android 5.0 will be out before we get anything.

This phone got way more love than the Droid Charge. It had GB leaks and finally a damned GB OTA that actually fixed some stuff, but VZW left us in the dust and won't be bringing ICS. The Charge is basically EOL- no ICS, no AOSP. There is an alpha ICS build, but has no working RIL.
Sadly, it seems 4G phones are less likely to get AOSP with the added complication of the RIL. 4G, AOSP, ICS, we all want too much, lol.

I'm really worried for the future of phone modding as it's getting harder and harder with each generation to be free with our phones.

Problem with Viper rom

So I clearly have the HTC One X+ and when i have this rom ( flashed, when i check the phone identity it says that it is an HTC One XL. I'm pretty sure this is also making it so i cannot download some apps and games. For example i cant download Ruzzle on my current phone, but i can on my sh***y Atrix 4G anyone know what the problem is?
i have att with venom, my id is one xl, and I can download ruzzle.

Just a heads up on any other problems...post them in the Rom's thread. You will most likely get more help.

I hate to be a burster of bubbles, however this tweet explicitly mentions the HTC One, and makes no reference to the Evo LTE, or even the HTC One X series of phones. It confirms nothing at all about any update coming for our device.

It doesn't have to explicitly say it, since EVO LTE is a carrier specific phone, spun-off from HTC ONE X. Also, EVO LTE got the Jelly bean here first IIRC before HTC ONE X did here in the states. So if history is any indication, I think it does apply to EVO LTE.

However, this tweet is referring to the HTC One, not the HTC One X. The HTC One is the newest phone from HTC, and is about a year newer than the HTC One X. It was the one that launched with 4.2 and Sense 5 already on it.

They're skipping 4.2 on the One line because it was a "minor" update. I guess it wasn't too much trouble to just leapfrog it to 4.3 so they did.
