Docks compatability thread - HTC One X+

I just got a X+, but I don't feel there are docks design for it. Is it because is too new or because other docks different devices are compatible...
Can we have a list of the docks you are using for you X+ and a small comment of what you like and don't?...
I am considering on getting:

I have the official HTC one x (not x+) car dock. The one x+ fits perfectly.

Seems X and X+ can share the same docks as long the are not tight fitment like Proclip USA.
I just ordered the same car dock and will buy two different dock more. I will update next weekend when I have them.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2

Kidigi with removable insert that the phone fits even with a case.
Only disadvantage is that the stock ROM doesn't turn the homescreen 90 degrees
That would be my only reason right now to root and load a custom ROM because the AT&T ROM is by far not bad, error free, fast, battery friendly.

You can download the mod for landscape Rosie by itself and keep the stock rom. That's what I did when I realized there wasn't a "dock mode" within the phone
Here youz go...

Desktop Cradle with Speakers uses the 5 Pogo Pins
Found this one, haven't tried it, but I'd want to use a cradle that uses the 5 Pogo Pins in the back rather than the micro usb:

Nevermind, apparently it's not compatible with the One X+
http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/ie/p_htc_item.aspx?i=230289

All these docks are ridiculously expensive

I brought this one http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/desktop-charge-cradle-with-hdmi-out-for-htc-one-x-p35406.htm works great and has hdmi as a bonus :silly:

I use i-bolt, it comes with insert so you can you use it with or without case and does turn home screen 90 degrees when attached on stock rom.

[Q] Docking HD2 With Android with just a MicroUSB and a Magnet?

Is it possible to use a magnet along with the MicroUSB cable to "Dock" the HD2 Phone in Android?
If I understand correctly, some phones require a magnet to go into docking mode.
There are some people that made a DIY dock like this Droid owner here for example:

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-hacks/2425-how-diy-media-car-dock.html
The magnet will touch a small part of the part somewhere on the back of the phone, using either positive or negative magnetism.
The phone will dock in either desk or car mode depending on the magnetism.
DIY HD2 Docks are common like donkeypunch85
I found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=758884&highlight=dock
I have a car dock myself similar to this one here
http://www.amazon.com/GTMax-Windshi..._17?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1259963538&sr=8-17
If I can't do my DIY dock then I guess I can just buy one like these:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/blog/2010/01/guide-to-htc-hd2-docks-and-desk-stands/
I have searched for an answer for my question in the forums and the wiki, but nothing relevant.

I have a Energy Rom and Android on my SD card.
Basically the "Dock" Menu in Android Settings Menu got me all curious.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/car-home/com.google.android.carhome
I know that I can also just use the Car Home app in Android, but I want
to know if I can use this method to do it Automatically.
Thanks.
Update:
I found a great app called Dock Simulator that lets me manipulate some dock options. This helps me out and anyone else interested.

Still haven't found out if a magnet can trigger the dock mode in HD2.
Tried using a refrigerator magnet moving it along the back when I connect the cable but no dice. Maybe magnets wont trigger the HD2 hmmm :/

Absolutely. There’s a desktop stand for charging and syncing with 2 USB ports and a 13.5mm audio out jack.
MSRP: $69.99

As yet there's no official dock, other than the keyboard one. And i doubt very much this other one that site mentions has a 13.5mm jack connection. However I'm sure in a few months some Chinese company will pump out docks on eBay, if Asus haven't by then.
There's an official "case". Looks like the original iPad case.
Lets you fold the cover several ways to tilt/display the Transformer

I might be interested in something like this even though I ordered the KB dock.
$70 seems a bit expensive for just a dock though. Was hoping it's be more than the $50 area.
I think he's talking about the desktop dock found here:

I think it is a really shotty photoshop job, the angles dont line up right with the transformer and dock
I am going to wait until i see it in person
I hope the dock is just simple, power and usb, but I doubt it, I bet it has audio jack and an hdmi jack too... that's why it's so expensive.
This is something I'll buy in 6 months to a year when I can grab it on eBay or something for the $40-$50 range.
I think if I was going to spend $70 for a dock, I'd just go all out and get the keyboard dock. Then you have portable power, you can change the viewing angle, and you'd get the keyboard as a bonus.
Like others have said....I'll wait for the 3rd party cheapies on ebay.

Desktop Charger

I've tried having a look around and I can't find a desk charger/cradle for the Lumia 800, I know the hinged door cover makes it hard but does anyone know of one that is compatible?
Thanks!
I bought this N9 charger and it works well:

Unfortunately, it's out of stock on amazon but may be available in UK

Thanks, I'll have a look at it. Where is the micro usb socket on the n9? How does this dock deal with the open door on the 800?
Same place, top left. The N9 & Lumia 800 have the same body (barring camera button and flash LED placement).

Awesome, thanks! I was a bit worried that the phone would have to be put upside down in the cradle.
I'm off to see I can find it in stock somewhere.
That only stands the phone up, the USB charger goes in the top as normal. You'd be better off (and save money) by just leaning it against something while it's charging.
It's not the same as an iPhone dock (or some HTC docks) which connect the phone directly to a charger when you place it in the dock.

htc rhyme has connectors on the back... thats what i call dock
I say, this is a marvelous find on my behalf, I was getting to the notion that I may just have to leave my phone in a horizontal position on my desk for the rest of eternity.

Star Wars Dock...not perfect, but what do ya think ??

Well I didn't want to spend $40+ dollars for a dock.
SOOOOooo...I found this one on eBay for $10 including shipping.
Got the Dremel out and VOILA, it fits. Doesn't automatically pull up
dock mode, but it does charge and I found the Dock shortcut...so I
have to push a button...oh well.
One day when I have more time, I'm planning on making it look better,
but it works for now...

"Page is unavailable." Use ImageShack or (better) PhotoBucket. Flickr now supports BBS code as well (usually you click the "share image" link and then select the type of code to insert; you're looking for "BB code" with [ ] square bracket tags).

FWIW, I was at a T-Mo store trying to use their "buy 2 get 1 free" promo, and the sales guy chirped, "we have docks and stuff in the back!" He came back, didn't have the desktop dock (which, from pics, will ONLY work without any cover on the phone), but had HTC's car dock ... and the dock had a sliding, Micro-USB connector, not the ExtMicro USB connector the Amaze has. It didn't look like the phone would fit with the D30 cover I'd just bought, so with two strikes against it I declined.
I just use an Elago M2 stand and charge the phone from a nearby PC or USB AC charger. On the go, I use a Cyanics "Rabbit mini" folding stand. No dock necessary. (And I use Llama to fire up the dock app, which frankly is kind of useless to me.)(Yes, I know, the Dock app works in landscape but the home screen doesn't ... but when we get ICS and -- I hope -- Sense 4.0 the home screen will switch to landscape mode.)

Looking for a Scandinavian keyboard case but having hell :(

First any recommendations for good cases that can go 360 or rotate, or are generally great. Also any Bluetooth keyboard that can be combined with previous good cases. I need one in Scandinavian format. Also a reliable seller for a 128GB microSD card. Basically EVERYTHING I could need with my new pro 12.2 that will be here on wed.
I cannot give you any recommendations for integrated keyboards. I'm using Logitech K810 which is about the same width as the tablet and has backlit keys, a long battery life and micro usb charging port. My tablet is in a KLD KA case, which serves as a stand in landscape mode. Part of the case protrudes from under the tablet and provides a perfect resting place for the keyboard.
I just throw the keyboard in my bag in a separate case. I don't need a physical keyboard at all times so I don't want to have it permanently attached to the tablet case. It would get in the way when I'm taking handwritten notes. I also use this keyboard with other devices since this particular model can be paired to three different devices at the same time and allows for instant switching between them.
If you'd be willing to go for a separate keyboard you could probably find a lot of cheaper alternatives in local stores. I've seen a nice one on display in the Phone House in Stockholm's Central Station and I imagine Media Markt would have several on display. I figure situation would be much the same in other Scandinavian countries.
On the software side I'd recommend External Keyboard Helper to use with whichever hardware keyboard you'll end up choosing. You can select any language you want, including Scandinavian languages, of course, and it prevents the onscreen keyboard from poping up while your bluetooth keyboard is in use. It can detect it automatically and switch from other keyboards as soon as you connect.

Also, I quite like the case I mentioned because it's very slim and well made, but it does not rotate or act as a stand in portrait mode. It also stinks very strongly of glue. The smell is only beginning to wear off after two weeks. I ordered the black one but it's really more of a very dark brown and the inside is a light tan colour. It arrived from China in one week though and it only cost 13 euros.
