PAC-man Kernel Jellybean 4.1 and 4.2 [ PAC / CM ] Neo V *Recovery Updated* - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

I am posting the PAC-man kernel and modules.
Why?
1. It is stable.
2. It is time-tested.
3. It has many features (governors, io schedulers etc)
4. This way kernel updates can get to users even if ROM is not updated.
(like the recent cwm fix)
Changelog?
Code:
[B]20121212 :[/B]
- Initial (cwm dancing fix)
[B]20121216:[/B]
- Updated recovery to 6.0.2.2
- Power off option in recovery.
Source: Kernel changelog here | Recovery changelog here + minor PACman changes.
Credits?
szl.keiv and the PAC team, Cyanogenmod team.
Support?
I will not be providing support for this kernel. You have been warned.
But i will try to help in whatever way I can.
Download
For PAC 4.1 / CM 4.1 -> Download
For 4.2 based ROMs -> Download
Modules for both (CWM flashable) -> Download

useful stuff.. thanks bro

uh! You are a godsend!
I wish I could thank you to death! limited to 8 thanks :|

Thanks, I will test this kernel to check on Sygic Navigation (it's drive me crazy because it reboot my phone). Boot time is very speed compared to FusioN v4.1 kernel (first boot is long also like on FusioN v4.1 kernel but this is no problem).

This kernel is the perfect compromise between the feature packed FusioN and the barebone FXP kernel. There are no drawbacks for this kernel.

This kernel is very speed. My phone with this kernel boots very fast and working very well. Next days shows how it's stable.

What are the best performance settings? I mean IO scheduler, governor, frequencies, zRam etc in terms of a good balance between smoothness and battery life? Not playing heavy games, just hill climb racing
Please help me guys out, to set it as good as possible

For smoothness and battery life, I will recommend leaving all the settings as default. Set Zram at 18% if you need better performance.

Try out! Just don't load at boot till you are sure it is stable.
My recommendation: Minimum: 249 Max: 1113 ondemand for routine use
(134 to 364 uses the same voltage, so minimum upto 364 causes same battery drain)

everything is work and rom run more stable.

Will it work on PA?(I guess it should work since its based on CM). But has anyone tried already?
I am currently on PA 2.54 by music.soul
Anyways going to try it tonight. Will post the results.

4.2 not work for me get a boot loop.....

I got bootloop after a few minutes stuck in LG logo. The same thing as in AOSP by mikegapinski (I'm one of those who had this random kernel panic). :/ Unoff. CM with his custom kernel by mateo1111 only works perfectly fine.
@anirion
I'll see what can I do with that asap.
Little problem
Thanks this ROM.
Works fine.

OTA updater makes a notification again and again...:
Gapps updates available.
Your gapps outdated! pa_gapps-20130808-signed available.
Download and install it?
I think this update for Android 4.3 not to 4.2.2.
Why disturb me about update again and again...?
Thank your for tha answer....

You can disable update check frequency under Paranoid OTA app settings. It should help. Or just remove/disable that app.

you can try what deccen said.but if still you have same problem then do this
flash ics 587 ftf with flashtool(this thing important if you are not in ics rom)
Flash the kernel inside the Rom zip
then goto cwm format system, cache, data,sd ext(if present),clear dalvik cache, clear cache partition.
flash rom then flash recommanded gapps. reboot.
Look dude download the zip
1.extract it
2.there will be a file named boot.img
flash it via flashtool
GOOGLE for it
the kernel which u flash already has recovery
so after flashing kernel go to recovery no need to flash any other recovery
then u know what to do
& next time pls give search in XDA
finally a ROM after a long time
looks good
i will try it

When phone is idle should go to deep sleep state where battery consumption is minimal. If phone never goes to deep sleep, battery drains very fast. In my case is about 7-8% per hour!!!

Hi there and thanks
Ext-Card is not mounting for me. Running Cloudy Rom.
Coming from Navel, I Installed Xceed running Cloudy G3 2.5 (20P stock based ROM). Booted flawlessly without problems.. It is a pure stock kernel with minor modifications like OC which is stuck on the 2649 MHz clock speed! Couldn't lower the set OC frequency.. Performance is great due to the OC. Standard Governors, Schedulers and MP decision Hotplug.. Kcal support is there.. No UV support.. Battery life too early to judge.. Hope there are some Kernel and build.prop tweaks embedded..
Good work but more options could really add up to the value of this kernel.. And please fix the OC issue.. I use Kernel Auditor by the way.. Will update about any issues or problems later if any, but so far phone is ultra stable..
Thanks mate
P.S. External card mounted and working good.

Use only Synapse..the option to lower frequencies sticks there..also on my kernel you do not need to underclock..the Ondemand is intelligent enough to choose what frequencies to use on a given situation..for low load/simple tasks it won't even go above 2ghz..my kernel performs out of the box..it does not need attention, so you can enjoy your phones to the fullest..you can read reviews on my G2 kernel thread..
You guys are in for a huge treat with this kernel kairi is a kernel wizard!

Install SuperSU again after flash this kernel.
YES! Been waiting for this!
Hi
It is very nice kernel
But i have questions
Does the battery life in it is good
Because i will install it on skies rom for my s5
And will enable always on display all day so i do not want to drain alot of battery and i play games alot too so i need a friendly battery and performance kernel
So is this kernel battery friend and is very good for performance
If it is friendly how much does it consume in hour of playing
And thanks

For my use battery life is perfect but i don't play to much games and i don't use display on mode you can't ask while playing how much battery consume because you are playing and phone is used from cpu to memory etc..try it yourself and see the results
When i restar the phone it took 1 to 2 minutes to boot. Why is thatm just with this kernel Phoenix Rom

If they want they can modify the zip and flash only kernel and still using supersu
If you are already on my kernel and you want biweekly support for it check here
https://bitbucket.org/malbert16442/...9b4bf798466f4aacea9f71468/Releases/?at=master
These are nightly builds so I can't promise the same stability as original xda release.
So far its 1.5 nightly. 1.5 release is in 2 weeks
1.5 official will add G900L K and S support then you can use nightly
1.3 release stable now in download section. Must be on 1.3 before flashing nightly.

Everything looks fine, but I don't know how to test DRM function properly.
Would be so kindly and help me out?
At the moment, WiFi, BT, screen/touch etc. working as it should

Good news, thanks for that.
Check this post for how to check DRM status: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52990972&postcount=3
Widevine and CKB are OK, there is nothing more on my phone.
So may I assume that your DRM fix is working?

Yes, that sounds like it's working just fine
After few hour of testing and normal phone usage I can report that there is no issues at all
I hope it will stay that way
Looks intresting. What features are you planning to add next?

I remember looking into this before when working the x compact and decided it doesn't work like that. I can't recall the exact reason.
Would it be possible to include OC/UC control as well as .kcal support?
Thanks!

I'm a little nervous about adding OC support to the X compact and X. On the X compact, the phone already overheats when under heavy load. That doesn't make a good case for overclocking on these devices for very little gain in real world performance.
I'll look into adding KCAL support.
Has anyone played with undervoltage? I have very little experience with the SD650 running under a custom kernel.
KCAL would be nice.
OC? I don't think so, X gets pretty hot when used as a video call device or while heavy gaming.
It would be better to add UC or give us a chance to modify some voltages for better battery life and less heat.
After all there is no error on my phone, Magisk work perfect, more advanced functions are working perfectly fine with your kernel.
Some undervoltage recommended?
On another phones like Nexus 5 with ElementalX Kernel , SoC works fine using 750mah with [email protected],4/2,5Ghz (Yeah, Overheating is there), and [email protected],1/1,6GHz and 730mah...
Curiously, with their Kernel App UI, you could make another type of Undervolting or force the SoC to other low frequencies... And when you try to install Higher Frequencies installing the kernel, the phone is locked later on Splashlogo/Bootlogo (For Voltage fault, I guess).
I think that you could some similar Kernel for this... And if you think put OC option remember the Overheat and some method for a cooler
- Send from my Oven Xperia X (Bye paint, hallo Aluminium back cover :3).

One of the features I have added for the next release is undervolting - see here.
I'm updating the list as I go.

can you include this 2 commit to your build? For full SuperUserMod.
Any ETA for new version of your kernel?
After one week of testing I can tell one thing - everything is rock stable
