I just got my Nexus 10 on Friday. I've already used your app quite a bit, and have been very happy. Not sure what the UI was like before, but the current UI is great. I'm ashamed to say I haven't rated it in the Play Store yet, but I will.

Heads up guys, we pushed out a new update.
We cleaned up the UI a bit. They resemble more like the Google Now cards a bit more. But the biggest addition was the Just For Kids section. We hand picked the best apps for your children. We will be adding more soon.

Here's what's in version 4.4.1:
[NEW] Removed App & Prize sections until we fix the loading error
[NEW] Added exit confirmation prompt when pressing back button
[FIXED] In search results, back button takes you to previous page of results
[FIXED] After selecting app from the search results, pressing the top-left icon now takes you back to the results

Why is the "next page arrow" so small in your app? Isn't this for tablets? Your UI should be more intuitive. The arrow is about 1mm x 1mm. Even on my nexus 10's big ol screen, it hard to hit that button. Doesn't make much sense.

We're going to be implementing an elastic scrolling feature soon. That way when you scroll to the bottom, it automatically pulls up the next page of apps. We actually had this in place but it broke the layout when adding new content so now we need an alternative.

I'm a little surprised that your app only needs 1 or 2 ratings to be considered a 'best rated app'. Listed right beside apps that have 5,000 ratings of 5 stars. (example 'tapestry' higher has 1 rating of five stars and 'ZArchiver' has 5,806 5 star ratings but are both listed in 'best rated free apps'.

quick response, I'm impressed as heck! Good program, when the updates address the few items I have seen mentioned here, then it is going to be one of the better apps! A much smoother feel than searching direct on Google Play.. looks like it has a larger app database? (other regions... it appears)

List of useful apps - verified to work on the Note

I thought we could list useful apps we've installed, and a quick summary of why. While browsing the Market I see a lot of comments "doesn't work with X", so I figured since we are blazing a new trail with our Notes we can save each other some aggravation and list ones we've found that definitely work.
Missed Message Flasher by TomatoX. Calendar only gives you one notification of an upcoming appointment, this lets you get multiple notifications until you stop it. Works for missed calls, texts, calendar and many others. I found the test notification in the setup does NOT work, but it does work for a real appointment. Haven't tried it with texts, calls yet. Edit 2/21, so far it doesn't appear to work with texts, let me know if you find otherwise. May try other options tonight. Edit 3/5, I'm still not sure I'm getting repeated notifications for anything other than calendar items, still testing.
Opera Mobile by Opera. Can't stand that the built-in browser can't identify as a desktop browser, but Opera Mobile can.
GPS Status & Toolbox by EclipSim. Nice real-time verification of all of your GPS stats, accelerometer, level, compass. Nice bonus, shows battery stats too (temp, %).
HotSpot Toggle by Mehdy Bohlool. One-click activation of the wifi hotspot. A little annoying that it doesn't line up with the other icons on the home screens, but it works.
XiiaLive Lite by Visual Blasters. For streaming ASX/WMA. I have a lifetime Internet account with SiriusXM. The sound quality from XiiaLive is much better than the SiriusXM app - the bit rate from the Sirius app is awful. I'm using this with a free online service called MusicDock. Use their "Windows Mobile" site (mentioned at the bottom of their home page) along with this app and you are golden.
Equalizer by Smart Android Apps. Simple, but works to modify the audio output, including on Blutooth.

Battery Indicator by Darshan Computing. Same as Battery Percentage but is half the size (1/2 MB vs. 1 MB) and is easier to read IMO. No way to modify the stock indicator w/o rooting, so for now I'm using this instead.
CPU Spy by storm717. Very small. Lets you see how much time your CPU spends in each speed, including how much time it sleeps. If your battery is draining quickly this will let you see if it is ever sleeping.

Word Feud by Berthussen IT. Scrabble-like game.

AirDroid by SAND Studio. Way better than Keis Air - ability to transfer files, txt messaging, etc via wifi.
Music Volume EQ by K & K Design. Works well, autostarts, includes features other than just a basic EQ.
AndroSensor by Fiv Asim. Displays outputs and current draw from all of the sensors in the Note, including barometer.

Screen Filter by haxor industry. Much more effective than using Dimmer (listed below). Allows you to dim just as much as you want, or as little as you want. So you can go really dark at let's say 20%, or if you just think the stock auto-brightness is a little too bright, you can permanently apply a 75% filter to dim it down just a little and still let the auto feature do its job. I'm currently trying that. Only problem is as you get to the really dark settings you get a noticable gray coloration to the whole screen - minor and an acceptable trade-off. You can set up multiple home screen shortcuts for multiple settings. Can work along with Dimmer but it is pointless, I just uninstalled Dimmer.

Screen On by Konstantinos Polychronis. Keeps the screen on for selected apps, or when charging. For instance, Google Maps where you don't want the screen to turn off (and loose your position). This is a tentative recommendation - at first it was flaky (didn't keep the screen on) for some apps but seems to be better after rebooting. I'll report back after a while. After selecting your applications from the list don't forget to enable the application with the checkbox in the upper left corner.
Calendar Snooze by Bitfire-development. Adds lots of snooze options to calendar notifications, more initial notification options and more reminder notification options. I still use Missed Message Flasher for text and Google Talk, but I turned off reminders for calendar in MMF and use Calendar Snooze instead. Mostly because it allows you to set a pattern for vibrate instead of having just one long vibration. I notice it better when it pulses several times.

Increasing Ring by sashomasho. Increases the volume of your ringer and/or clock alarm, so you can start off completely silent or nearly silent and increase the volume over time. Gives you a chance to grab your phone and answer or reject a call without it blaring at top volume on the first ring. Note that it increases the volume based on your current ring setting so make sure you turn your ring volume below full volume or it will appear that the app isn't working.
Can recommend but don't use anymore
Dimmer (Night Mode) by geekyouup. One-click ability to dim your display as far as it will go. The stock brightness slider will only take you to "30", this takes you to "10". A noticeable difference especially in a dark room. Screen Filter (listed above) works much better and is more versatile so I removed this app.
Can no longer recommend
Equalizer by Smart Android Apps. Would randomly stop modifying the audio stream even though the app was still listed in the task manager. Also had to re-start after every reboot. Found another equalizer (listed above) which doesn't have either problem. Also I think it sounds better.
SiriusXM Internet Radio by SiriusXM Radio Inc. Doesn't let you force a specific quality, and found an aftermarket solution (listed above) which sounds much better.
Battery Percentage & Temp by Global Developers Adds a battery percentage display as a permanent notification. Battery Indicator (above) is easier to read and the app is half the size of this one.

Please list your own useful apps...

Good list, although this probably belongs in the Galaxy Note Themes and Apps forums.
Some other adds:
Skitch - Evernote add-on that supports sketching. A lot like S Memo, but it has a bit deeper integration with Evernote if you're using that.
iAnnotate Lite - Download from the Samsung App Store to ensure Galaxy Note compatibility. Great tool for marking up PDFs.
Currents - Works great on the Note. The bigger screen really lets you take advantage of the magazine-like layout similar to what you see on a tablet.

I'll add Sketchbook (Mobile) to the list. Pro is still tablet only.
Also, Fruit Ninja and Spirit HD, both of which I've found are great with the S-Pen. The latter locked up and crashed last I played, though; not sure if this will be a recurring issue. EDIT 2/22 - Skip Spirit HD for now. The crashing is consistent, closing the app after two or three levels every time.

Likewise. I use Tweetcaster Pro, a lot better than all of the twitter app out there.
I use Mr. Number for blocking spam / private / blocked numbers. But for some reason the app thinks I'm not in the US, hence why I'm having issues with it at the moment but it's still working regardless.
Streamzoo / MyTubo - for picture editing. Not close to instagram but it does the trick.

Tried download the regular one. Thinks G Note is a tablet. Haha. I like the dark one, but I hate that neon colors. Hurts my eyes.

Made a few updates to my list.

For anyone that uses a bluetooth headset and is tired of pocket dials, Proximity Service works well to keep the screen off while in the pocket. It takes a bit to get used to it with regard to how you work with the device, but it is less of of an issue with the Note than it was with my LG Optimus.

supernote Asus works, but because of the awesome resolution, the app elements are rendered small which makes this app pretty unusable.

I will say a little that I am disappointed with how limited note-taking apps are available. That is, perhaps though I am not searching in the right way. I want to update soon enough with either a work-around or better alternative!

#1 GMD Gesture control. I'm surprised this app hasn't been mentioned. Does the Nova launcher premium upgrade bring the same multi-touch gesture fu. tionality? For me this is the essence of a tablet..... do about everything with various sreen taps/swipes. iOS figured this out but GMD does it better.
Distant second, third, fourth, etc.
Solid Explorer: Great file manager.
Titanium Backup: Very useful, especially with constant ROM changes or updates.
QuickOffice: Best office app I've come across. I hope they're as dedicated to the android version as they are to iOS, cause it's by far the best on that platform.
Apps I want:
PDF readers. I've purchased everything and they need LOTS of improvement. Rendering speed, full text library searching, large or full page thumbnail previews. It's all missing.
Better google reader apps. I spend multiple hours with Google reader every day and nothing even comes close to Reeder on iOS (even other iOS apps). Freely and gReader are OK, but I'd really like something better.
Note taking apps: Vector drawing, ever note sync, magnified writing input. haven't found that yet.
Sorry if I sound critical. I love android and hope the market will mature, but some of the basic functionality that you can find on iOS is sorely lacking. I hate Apple, but they've attracted some top-notch developers in their app store. i'd happily pay 5x the price to have some of those apps on android cause it's such a superior platform (for my needs at least).

It's been a very long time since I've updated the project, as when I left it, (due to not owning a tablet any more) I believed that it was working as I had intended on Tablets, sadly, as of Android 4.3 that was no longer the case.
With the release of Android 4.4 I obtained another tablet and decided to update the project. This is the result of my work, my research and the help of a few others, who will be mentioned below.
Please, provide feedback, hit thanks, and most importantly, enjoy it. Please understand that this is currently in beta, the bugs that it currently contains are all small graphical quality of life ones, and I'll be getting right on those.
As someone who is studying full time, please understand that I don't have a lot of free time, but I'll do my best to update this regularly and respond to any concerns or issues you may have.
I do not give permission for my work to be redistributed, direct linked or posted anywhere else other then XDA-developers.com or en.miui.com forums. Anyone who shares this must post a link to this thread and give credit.

The weather clock 4x2, Clock 2x1 and Clock 2x2 do not appear graphically correct on the HP Touchpad.

In the Launcher Settings -> Launcher: There is text that does not appear in english.

Static Wallpapers seem blurred when using this launcher on the HP Touchpad.

There is text that does not appear in english in the themes market
Obviously as the market stuff is server side, I can't change that, however there may be a few local images > Pending further investigation.
MIUI Express Locker is terribly scaled, low res and buggy

This is something I'm still looking into and I'm not sure if I can fix it, generally it's about as buggy and slow as most lock screen replacements anyway,
not sure if they've improved that from the last time I used MiHome on a phone > Pending further investigation.
If you have an issue be it graphical or performance based, the first step is to make sure it isn't a bug from your rom,
if you've excluded that possibility post in the main thread, for me to be able to do anything with it, you must include;

Your Current Rom
Your Device DPI

The problem.
If you haven't followed the install instructions below, don't expect me to do anything to resolve your issue until you do.
Part 1:
Download and Install MiHome-Step1.apk
Once the launcher loads slide up from above the nav bar and hit "Launcher Settings."
Scroll down the options until you find "Cell Layout Type"
Hit it and select the option that suits your device best
Please choose wisely because you'll need to re-install the app to change this.
Part 2
Download and Install ZSC.mihome.BX.apk, (X being the latest version number)
You will be prompted to update MiHome, obviously confirm it.
Once MiHome loads, you may or may not notice a rather mangled looking clock widget.
I am aware of this and for the moment, delete it.
Head into launcher settings, if you don't have a physical menu button look in the next section.
Hit the "Lockscreen" option, uncheck "Use MiHome Locker",
this is the lockscreen replacement Xiaomi includes with the launcher.
It doesn't play well with larger screens or landscape as of the moment
Optional But Very Recommended
If you do not have a physical menu key,
long press an empty part of the screen and hit the "Toolbox" icon.
Select the "Launcher Settings" icon on the far right.
You'll see the icon is on your home screen, open the settings.
Hit the "Launcher" option, look down at the last option "Choose Swipe Up Gesture Function"
Hit it and select the last option "Swipe up to open Menu."
Now you can view all your options by sliding up from above the nav bar again!
If your transitions seem slow, or strange when changing home pages,
Head into "Launcher Settings", Hit Launcher
Hit "Screen Transition Effects" and select something other than "Classic",
This is optional, but Classic looks silly and makes the launcher seem less fluid.
It may also appear strangely on some devices.

The only thing is the default wallpaper is offset by about an inch from the top. Solved by changing wallpaper.I seem to remember that was an issue with classicnerds miui rom. Otherwise looking good!

For the past six months I've been very unwell and without an android device, but just recently I managed to obtain another tablet and I long for the sweet taste of MIUI. That's why I'm pleased to announce that I'll be updating this project with Android 4.4 support and a few fixes, so please look forward to that.
A little under a month ago I locked the downloads, by changing the public permissions, and I put the wrong type of privacy setting on the files. Meaning, that because of my mess-up, anyone with the links could send an email through Google drive and directly to my account. Because of the high volume of emails I got, I decided to leave the links like that to see what kind of demand there still was. This was the result.
In regards to the downloads being locked, that was due to a large number of sites either; direct linking to the download, or re-uploading it. The worst part about this was that many did not give me credit, and others took the credit for themselves. All of the formerly mentioned misdoings were against my wishes, and despite what was written on my original post and numerous warnings from myself, many of them still continued. I am sorry that you've all had to suffer because of this.
Thank you for your continued support, and I'll keep you posted! Within the next 1-2 days I'll be back with a few questions about the kind of devices you own! ♥

Hey, this is awesome! I've been a longtime MIUI user, and was actually thinking about making a port for the tenderloin...but I think I'll wait for the V6/kitkat version.
In the meanwhile...have you seen that Xiaomi has released a beta of "MIUI Lite"?

What's with the lockscreen?

Needs to be disabled unless you want a terribly blurry and upscaled lock screen.

I am not a fan of MIUI, but still wanted to test this out.
I just wanted to say, seemed stable, smooth and quick, except when opening folders, seemed to take IMO too long, but otherwise great start

Can you update it to the newest version of miui launcher because it has had quite a bit of updates since you released this. Otherwise great job I love miui awesome though not having an appdrawer is a little inconvenient on a tablet.

Should be ready very shortly, as of the moment I'm on the fence about uploading what I've got now, and branding it as a beta, or polishing it and having everyone wait a little longer. OP will be updated further in a few hours.

What is NiceLock?
This app is only an alternative to main Good Lock app for the regions that it is officially unavailable.

I pushed v2.1 and 2.2 to free version mainly because ad library caused some crashes on some devices. Paid was unaffected so I waited a bit the see if new one is perfectly working. It should be live on paid one soon, with small improvements.
Icon was a little bit "rushed". But good news, xda user @supergrobi94 has sent me a surprise which he did in his free time. It will come with the next update soon. Here is a quick preview, how do you like it?

Will try to get dark mode for the next one, shouldn't be so hard. But oneui style needs some work I guess. I'll see what I can do. Thanks for suggestions ?

New build with dark mode and grid layout should be live on Beta channel in an hour. If no issues, will roll out to stable tomorrow!

nice, about dark mode, why don't go fully black instead of grey? no big deal but better to take full advantage of OLED screen.

I tried to implement it but no luck . Probably something is hardcoded into theme, overriding my own color value. But doing my research about it.

You can push out the update: Google doesn't matter (some apps like "Phone Info" had pushed several updates last release!)

Since now im finished things I have in mind, I will take a look at what I can do about installs/update checks etc. Google Play policy is a bit strict around APK files but maybe I can find a workaround. It would make it easier for new users too. Thanks for the suggestion!
