Any MIUI dev's? - HTC Droid DNA

I know it's early and hard to get too much accomplished with the uniqueness of our device not to mention the s-on issue.
But I'm just curious if anyone has heard any rumor or knows anything about anyone working on a MIUI port.. I'm not expecting much yet as we don't even have any aosp goodness yet. But I thought I'd get the conversation started.

I think we need aosp before we can even think about miui.

I agree, you are right. Just wondering if any MIUI dev's have the device or are thinking about working on it.

miui can be sense based (though until theres an official jellybean sense build, its tough to make your own patch rom)
i took a swing at getting miui launcher working on our stock build but kinda gave up when something that should have worked right...didnt
i may revisit it after christmas, idk

working on a sense base but theres alot of issues lol
also working on a asop base but i have talked to a few who claim the kernel will never let it boot so im still optimistic about it working but full functional no tell at this point
---------- Post added at 09:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:39 PM ----------
sorry for bringing up a old thread figured i keep posted

I tried to port it off of the cm10 base but I just got a error 7 in recovery before it would even begin to flash the Rom... Granted my porting was just copying most of the stuff off of a one xl and I just followed a basic tutorialon how to port so it really did not surprise me when it did not boot... Curse my noob knowledge of deving

I would love to but I probably won't be able to mess with it for another week or so... I will see if I still have that build on my computer somewhere.

most of the imaging will be done in framework-res.apk i believe as im teaching myself how to port to non supported devices so its and awesome adventure
also did you set all of your permissions correct? move all correct files over?and as far as updater-script i will try and put my build on github tonight but as im also thinking of changing to arch linux over ubuntu as im done with the non updating they issue so late lol.
and when ubuntu os is ready you willing to help?

Lol I think I did I really am a noob at linux and developing. I can follow a tutorial real well (which I did with the first attempt at porting but you saw how far I got) I just want to be fully clear with you my experiencecause I don't want you to expect you have a professional working with you. But anyway I think I did. I copied over the permissions from the port rom folder to the base roms folder but I might have missed a few...

Ok I am about 75 percent done with re building a port I can work with. It should be done tonight... We will see if it boots... I was trying to find a device that had miui that was more similar (nexus 4) but even they do not have a port on it yet... Is miui losing its luster?

it seems to have a bit from what ive seen
miui.us is really slowed down since many device maintainers (i was one on the inc2) have moved on to other stuff and the main site guys are working on chameleon os
i cant speak for miui android and other sites, but i dont see as much press or activity going on for miui in general as in prior years / versions

Im Porting it form the One X version... If anyone thinks there will be any problems with that please tell me now lol before i put more time into it

I realize in my own testing that Wifi tether FCs as well as selecting volume from sound settings.. For now use root file manager to delete Wifi Tether and re-install or use stock Tether app. As for Volume just use your volume buttons lol. Both will be fixed in the next release
Sounds good. Neither should be a problem for me as I always use my volume buttons and I don't tether. thanks for the heads up though!
Edit: just saw link downloading now.

At this point does this Rom have anything the other AOSP roms don't?
I like to see AOSP. Very exciting to see more developing with it.
Its kind of a blend of cm7 and Team Xrons. I took what I liked out if both of them while trying to maintain as much stock aosp as possible eg. no adw. I am working on a Miui port and also may be close to nailing down what's causing the Bluetooth problem. I could use help with that actually. Hopefully this is the first of many to come as I learn more and more. Also expect a custom kernel from me soon!

Any chance of MIUI making its way to the Note II?

I can't be the only one who likes MIUI. Any word on this phone getting a port of it? Or will I just have to hold out hope that a special dev will eventually come along to help fulfill my deep, dark MIUI desires?
I've seen it already for the AT&T variant.
It will come if someone feels like porting it probably
It was being said that Beans was porting it but that was awhile ago.
It only needs the ril libraries transplanted into the Sprint Rom, but I don't have the patience to play with it

I didn't have a hard brick. I flashed Sprint miui, then followed up with a Verizon kernel, and everything booted and mostly worked, except for phone/data (the ril libs are different)
ALSO, you need the CM10 RIL library files which are in Framework.jar. Not just the ones in /system/lib

Its very simple to port honestly but our devices doesn't meet the super minimum specs and its even horribly laggy on the n7 how do you think it would work on our device? Unless jt pulls some miracle like he always does but even if he did it would still be a horrible exsrperiqnce

I hope someone does port this. It'd be nice to see how it would run.
I did some digging, and found page from today that stated that the Ubuntu Touch has been successfully ported to the Fassy.
According to the page, wifi and camera work, and that's all we know for know
I ported it awhile back, nothing too interesting, which is why I never posted it. Camera and WiFi work, etc, but the os is so limited you can't really do much with it.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2366601
I don't know why, but I seem to be having trouble installing Ubuntu on the fascinate.
I flash the first zip (cm10.1 unofficial) and it reboots me into clockworkmod recovery with an ubuntu logo replacing the cwm logo
when I flash the second zip (saucy blahblahblah) it shows an error for the zip file. I tried downloading both files multiple times and the same error happens.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

That is a whole nother ballgame, ubuntu touch is a pain. Lol
I've given up on working on it for now, as i really need my phone to be working 110% all the time, so im back to stock....with a handful of modifications ofc.
Using th3bills cm10.1 i was trying to just port it over without having to.build like they say in the porting guide, and no luck outside of a loop. User error really. Its best left to the trusted devs, etc round here.
Our phones can handle it great, and then some, BUT, as with anything over the stock gb, without drivers things dont work as they should. Ubuntu touch is really frikkin awesome to look st, but even if someone ports it, it is only a preview an 90% of the features wont work or are just placeholders. Id let it sit a while, not worth a damn atm. But it does give you a taste of the ui. Which, is tough getting used to as it is very gesture oriented as apposed to click here scroll here that we do on android.

If I can find some free time in my super-busy college schedule, I'd like to try my hand at porting it for us. Not just because it would be awesome to have it, but because I'd like to eventually do some app development for it (and it looks like a badass OS for a phone).

Unfortunately not. Ubuntu requires it to be unlocked. (ubuntu ATM is highly reliant on cm10 still, so if you can't run cm10,which 2.3.5 can't)
Your stuck between a rock and a hard place

What is the point? We need a decent kernel that can actually support our phone. Atrix 4G succeeded, and all development has halted here. This phone seems pretty much done. Very disappointing.

ROM Port

So, I'm thinking about trying to port a stock ROM for the Verizon s4 to the DNA. Why you guys think? Just an idea.
Sent from my dlx using xda app-developers app
I assume it will be hard and take lots of time and testing. More so than an HTC port since it's a Samsung device and they run different hardware. Some stuff may not ever work. The s4 has many features one would miss out on if ported to a DNA. Touchwiz would be nice to see because of it's fluidity and snapiness. That's something that sense has always lacked in my eyes.
Good luck with that.
Please do it!!!!
