Doesn't seem to be so far although I am interested to know if someone has tried the new ExynosAbuse exploit to root their phone on a stock rom/kernel and had success.

Can't find HBO Go in the market

HBO Go was released, but I can't seem install it on my Vibrant. The Market doesn't list it when I search, and the market's web interface says my device isn't supported when I try to install it. Is anyone else having this issue? I can't seem to find a list of the devices HBO is allowing to run the HBO Go app.

Why is it that some apps became "incompatible" after rooting my phone?

I've recently rooted my Nexus S, and for some reason Jenga and Ringdroid became incompatible for me... What can I do about this?

- Unroot
- Try using a different rom
Try other apps that do the same thing.

Try OTA Rootkeeper by supercurio https://market.android.com/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.otarootkeeper
With this you can temporarily unroot. Try that out and see if those apps work afterwards.
Its possible that certain apps can detect root and as a result disable some functionality. I can't imagine why a Jenga app would have this though.

Do I really have to? I don't feel like unrooting just to check it... :/
Also, this already happened on stock ROM with root.

I've tried that doing the temporary unroot with that app, and it still doesn't show in the Market... Though I'm not sure if it really had effect. Is there any way to check besides the app itself telling me I have unrooted?

Just try to run an app that requires root to function. It if works normally, then you still have root. If to want to try a specific app, get Terminal Emulator and type "su" without the quotation marks. If you get '#' back then you have root.
Another thing to try is to search for your apps (Jenga etc) from the Web android market and install your apps from there http://market.android.com

Tried it just now, and it was indeed unrooted... And the apps still don't show up on the phone's Market, and on the Web version they show up but I can't install since they say they're incompatible.
Did you changed something else? Like the LCD Density? That could be a reason for.

No, I barely changed anything since this started happening... The earliest I remember noticing this was a bit after changing my kernel from the stock one to Eugene's.
I'm not sure if that is the cause of the problem... I can't remember if it happened after I rooted but before I changed the kernel (when I was completely stock with the exception of the root).
Perhaps your new ROM has a different build.prop that indicates incompatibility with certain apps.
You can try comparing your current build.prop with the build.prop from your backup.
It is possible that an app could try to detect that you have rooted, and refuse to run. However, I happen to have Jenga on my rooted Android tablet, so (unless it is terribly inconsistent at finding detecting it) that doesn't seem to be the case here.

The build.prop will have a few changes, but it will still have the same device properties.
I had a similar problem- turned out to be permissions settings- the apps you are trying to load may require more permissions than you have set- I found by enabling them all, the prob was solved

I'm willing to bet not at first. I believe Verizon will keep it off so that it can substitute its own program that does the same thing. Then after a bit the devs will get it working for everyone to use.
I'm pretty bummed the device's for VZ are still shipping without Wallet...The previous "excuse" from VZ was that
...because Google Wallet did "not simply access the operating system and basic hardware of our phones like thousands of other applications," the service "needs to be integrated into a new, secure and proprietary hardware element in our phones"....

I can't see how that excuse given last December is still valid now...If i was a customer of VZ id be pitching a fit...only reason why i somewhat care is b/c the wife is. lol
btw has anyone tried the method mentioned here to get it on their device? Have to use the default android browser to do it evidently, so no Dolphin, or Chrome even...
http://www.androidauthority.com/google-wallet-for-verizon-galaxy-nexus-50922/
...How to Install Google Wallet on Your Verizon Galaxy Nexus Manually:
1. Open browser on your phone and open http://market.android.com
2. Look for Google Wallet
3. If the browser prompts you to open the Market, don’t. You should stay in the browser.
4. Once results come back, tap on the icon for Google Wallet.
5. Tap the Install button before signing into your Google account.
Remember, you are doing this from the browser and not from the Market app.
6. When you have already signed in, you will be redirected to the Market page in the browser.
7. Don’t be surprised to discover that you don’t have an option to install the app since it doesn’t support Verizon.
8. Tap the back button so you are prompted for the Browser or Market again. This time, choose the Market.
This will let you open the Google Wallet page through the Android Market. You will get the option to install already.

The method doesn't work, but there appears to be an .apk somewhere that can be installed.
I installed it successfully on my DINC4GLTE. It just does not have the permissions to allow use yet.

I tried the Nexus method (or very similar) on the nexus I had for a week before the Inc4 was released and it worked. Haven't tried it on my Inc4 but it's on my list... I'm kind of waiting for JB ROM or CM10 before I start messing around too much. It was sure nice (JB) for the two days I ran it on the Nexus!
Interesting article about Wallet working on our device:

For those that are rooted you can try the version from Modaco. http://www.modaco.com/topic/354635-region-device-root-patched-google-wallet-apk-15-r75-v6/
It will open but gives me an "insufficient secure element privileges for this system image (release keys)" error. I'm still researching this one.

Stock browser

Is there any way someone could pull the stock browser.apk so I can side load it on my S5. The new s5 comes with chrome but I kinda like the S4 stock browser for certain things. I know there is at least one other member with an s5 that would like it too. I searched Google but couldn't find it.

Thank you. I tried to install it but it failed. It goes through the process of installing but then says "app now installed". I guess it won't work for whatever reason. Do you know how I could possibly get it to work? I don't have any clue to what I can try if there is anything..

Are you rooted? I haven't looked to see if there is root for the S5 yet... if so, you'd have to push it to system and change permissions to rw r r with a root explorer.

Yeah that's what I was thinking might work but there isn't root for the Verizon s5 yet. And I'm not sure if I could get away with rooting with Knox and being on the edge program. I don't think they would like the Knox counter marked when they get the phone back. I'll play with other Web browsers till I find one that suits my needs. Thanks for your help

My only problem with chrome is that it has problems with embedded youtube videos. Sometimes there isn't sound and other times the sound comes out of the ear speaker instead of the back. If it wasn't for that I would be happy with chrome
