Firmware and boot loader ?'s - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

OK so I used the bootloader to flash the 3 option in Haus's thread and every thing is working. But....
Now on the bootloader screen it says locked tampered then S-off.
I was told the locked was just wat it was saying and didn't matter.
So do I have a locked boot loader? And does that even matter for anything or was it just required to get root plus S-off?
Did I mess up getting the newest hboot from the firmware? I was told I needed it to run meanbean.

I'm not sure what u flashed but it sounds like you flashed the whole thing which means you have stock recovery now. Either fastboot flash recovery image or download thru goo manager.
Once you have a custom recovery installed your all set. Don't worry about the locked on your bootloader

You should have flashed the first file the one with no kernel, hboot, or stock recovery that would have updated everything you needed to be updated

So did I mess anything up? I was able to flash mean bean without any issues.

tryuing factory reste with custom recovery

HI. I have a big problem... I tried flashing an OTA file with CWM recovery, and now I get to the HTC white screen with no Quitely brillant below
My hboot is unlocked and I am s-on
I could probable y access fastboot, though I cannot tell right now I cannot use it on the computer I have, but if I access fastboot I have the regular options, and the buttons works. if I choose recovey , I see a android CWM and a small bue progress bar and it reboots back to "Normal" wich is being the white HTC screen right now
I am able to access Hboot which makes me think that I can probably get out of this by flashing back my original RUU.
Pleasae tell me that i am right:
I thought of trying a factory reste to start with , but I am not sure this will work because of the recovery I installed.
My hboot is unlocked.
is it bad Doctor?:crying:
try flashing the stock recovery, then flash the ruu again.
it seems to be leading to something like this ... I'll try
And it worked!!!
I was able to relock the hboot prior to running videotron Ruu executable file. This worked like a charm... I have learned my lesson. I'll wait for my turn to be pushed. Thank you all.

no, the bootloader needs to be locked to flash any ruu file
Dude flash stock recovery relock boot loader then flash the RUU most recent one. And if your gonna unlock boot again and flash another custom recovery us 4ext its the best one in my opinion a lot of options very simple nice user interface no troubles as of yet. Plus it basically like having S-Off cause of smart flash it flashes kernels together with rom. Its 3.00$ on market or you can get it for free from internet or other apps. If anything feel free to pm me

Thanks, but right nowi'm kind of being chicken. Anyway, the OTA file came in anyway, by regular means, so my goal has been acheived.. but I'll chek it out eventually.

Rezound bootloops after unlocking bootloader

I unlocked the bootloader on my Rezound a few hours ago, but ever since then it has been stuck in a bootloop. I wasn't on stock though, so did that have anything to do with it? I've tried reflashing the ROM, and that doesn't help.
How did you flash another ROM without unlocking your bootloader?
Agreed.. If you weren't on stock then your bootloader must have been previously unlocked.. what Rom are you using/trying to use.? You need to have a custom recovery installed after you unlock, you couldn't have flashed a rom from stock recovery..

Bootloader was locked, but it was unlocked previously, and a custom recovery had been installed. When I got the phone, it was rooted, S-Off, and on the stock ROM. It had Amon Ra's recovery already installed, but again, as I said the bootloader was locked.
EDIT: Oh and the ROM I was using (successfully before the unlock) was CounterShrike.

Well first off if you were s-off why did you need to unlock your bootloader? What hboot are you using?

Collin is right.
All you really need to do is wipe everything and flash a ROM. Since you are s-off everything else will be taken care of.

Okay. I haven't really been using HTC devices so I didn't know what S-Off actually did. I went ahead and fixed it with the RUU.

Update to the 3.16 firmware and radio?

And friend of mine has an Evo 4G LTE and wanted me to root it. I kinda jumped into things too fast and didn't update before I rooted it. I used the htcdev.com unlock process and then rooted it but kept s-on because my laptop is windows 64 bit and apparently s-off program requires a 32 bit. Anyways the current baseband is 1.05 and the software is 1.22 and I'm needing to have it updated to 3.16 so he can run newer roms. Is the best way to update is by re-locking the bootloader then unrooting then run an updated ruu? And after we update would the bootloader still be re-locked and i able to use htcdev.com to unlock again? Thanks for any help.
Edit: Or if there is anyway to s-off with Windows 64 bit, that would work as well so I could just update the phone thru the bootloader.

The best way is to S-OFF you can use a LiveCD to do it
Or yes you need to relock and take the OTA

So If I just relock I can just take the ota update and not have to go thru the unrooting process?

Ok that's fine. Just wanted to make sure that if I take the ota while the phone still had root it would be okay. Thanks for the help

So I re locked the bootloader. Tried taking the ota. It downloaded then I hit install but it just reboots to the bootloader and nothing happens. And idea as to what that's all about. I rebooted back into the phone and confirmed it was not installed. Should I just try the ruu?

I think you need to fastboot flash the stock recovery

[Q] Factory reset now I can't flash roms?

My phone started acting wierd, so I reset it to factory and now I can't install any ROMS at all!
I had/have S-OFF but somehow I locked myself.
Says **** LOCKED***
SHOOTER XC SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT 158.0000
RADIO 1.09.00.0706
I've tried renaming the downloads to PG86IMG.ZIP but all it does is gives me a progress bar, parses and then goes back to the fastboot menu.
I've tried to install clockworkmod and twrp but since I don't have superuser, it won't work.
I tried pushing through adb and fastboot but no write access.
I'd like to put carbon jellybean on it.
I know I"m missing a step here somewhere. But what is it?
You wont be able to flash custom roms on fastboot and u cant flash recovery because ur bootloader is locked you kust somehow reflash the bootloader or get it unlocked.
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using xda app-developers app
OK. I think I understand. I just don't understand how I locked myself and why it is so difficult to unlock when I was unlocked before.
I'm going tyhrough the [email protected] and waiting for my bin file. Hopefully it will come soon.
Once I go through that process, what's next? How do I install either twrp or clockworkmod as I don't have SU?
Well u probably flashed an ics ruu which had bootloader update in it so it locked it. U can flash recovery.img trough adb .

If i helped, press thanks
Thanks
I know just enough to be dangerous.
Any idea how long it takes to get this .bin file from the htcdevelopers ?
Once I use that file, then I can what? Just rename CARBON-JB-UNOFFICIAL-20130513-143602-shooteru.zip to PG86IMG.zip in the root of my SD card and then it will work? Or do I have to do something else? If so, what? It's late and I'm getting foggy. Wanted to get this up and running for morning use.

[Q] Getting back to FULL stock

Hey all,
so I've come into a bit of a conundrum. I was playing with the MaximusHD Jellybean 4.3 ROM. It was alright, but not for me. So I decided to flash back to stock. After a bit of finagling, I got a Stock Rooted 4.1.2 ROM for my phone, and was able to flash it. But now, I can't RUU my phone back to complete stock. Relocking the bootloader produces a **Security warning**, which prevents booting. Now, with an unlocked bootloader the stock ROM boots fine -- but locked, it doesn't boot and goes directly to bootloader. Can someone please walk me through getting my phone back to normal? I've used the RUU before to return to complete stock once before, except I'm not sure what I've done wrong this time around. Any help is appreciated. Also, I have TWRP recovery (latest version), unfortunately without a Nandroid backup
My phone works fine right now -- albeit rooted. Thank you!
Try flashing a stock recovery before relocking.

Exact same problem here
Hi,
I have the exact same problem here, i've had my HTC One with a 2-year plan @t-mobile but with the stock rom i haven't had any t-mobile bloatware/splash screen. Is that normal?
Also if i flash a stock t-mobile rom it hangs at the bootloader.

Unfortunately, flashing a stock recovery just prevented my device from booting normally. I had to reflash TWRP to get it to boot properly... unless I just didn't give the boot process enough time on the stock recovery.
You can put any recovery on your phone, lock it, and run fastboot rebootRUU from hboot to run the RUU.
