[Q] Pink/Purple streaks when taking photos, has anyone seen this? Photos inside - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been having a few issues with my phone recently. I'm running a stock, non rooted rom.

Recently, my camera stopped working all together after trying the Poland rom. I reverted back to the stock rom, and let it do OTA updates to get it up to date. Once I did that, the camera started working just fine, until today. When I attempt to take photos, they come out with purple/pink streaks on them. They show both when I take the photo (they scroll across the screen), and in the photo itself. Has anyone run into this before?

Anyone?

Did you update your camera firmware? There is a guide in general section that shows you how. I would try that.

I haven't, but, the phone and camera firmwares are the same
And now, when I start the camera I'm getting "an unknown error occurred"
I guess I'll have to ship it back to Samsung and hope they fix it. It's on an official rom and says custom binary download: no with an official system status in download mode, so I should be okay right?
Thanks for the help

The airdroid app

Hi,
When I use the Airdroid app, on my SGS2 it all works fine but when I put my phones desktop on the screen it looks all redish. Does anyone know why this is an perhaps how I can fix it? I'll include a SS to show you what I mean.
thanks,,

This has become a relatively common problem for the Galaxy S and Galaxy SII. It's been nicknamed The Red Screen of Death (How original).
From what I can tell in the other cases its been caused by a custom ROM. Are you using stock or a custom rom?
Some speculation is that it might be a bug with night mode. make sure this is disabled in the settings.

[Q] Resolution issues

I flashed this ROM yesterday and so far everything has been working great except for one little detail. A few applications are being stretched off the screen. The two I've noticed this on so far are the ROM OTA Updater and the market app Fishing Superstars.
I tried completely wiping everything and reflashing the ROM several times but it's never made any difference. I'm starting to get frustrated and considering trying another ROM (but I like everything else about this one). Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this?
Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about. I can't get the OTA Updater to come back up but it cuts off the "Accept" button so I can't ever do any OTA updates =/

What Rom are you using? The dpi maynot be set correctly for that app. It's more than likely a Rom issue.

I'm using SOS M | VER 2.6.1 found here. For reference, here is what the OTA updater (included in that ROM) looks like when I try to apply the ROM update.

Anyone have any idea? I'd post this in the actual ROM thread but I don't have 10 posts yet =/

[Q] SGS3 T999 Variant Camera Failed

Hi,
This is my first post in XDA. I'm pretty sure there are similar posts regarding my issue but none of them have solved my problem. My friend gave me his SGS3 T999 (T-Mobile). But the camera won't work, I just get the following message:

}
I've already tried the following:
1. Flash stock rom
2. Tried other camera apps
3. Tested both front and back cameras with *#0*# USSD code
It may be related but the Accelorometer doesn't work either.
Checked the firmwares:
Rear Camera
Cam FW Ver: GDFD06
Phone FW Ver: GDFI02
Front Camera:
Cam&Phone FW Ver: S5K6A3
I have a hunch, would it be possible to change the camera's firmware verson? That's the only thing I haven't tried so far. I read somewhere that the problem started when they updated the firmware.
Wrong forum. Hope you didn't flash anything from this forum, as it would ultimately result in soft or hard bricking.

Stuck on Android is starting/starting apps

So I went and restored my phone but it seems to be stuck on the optimizing apps/starting apps screen and won't go anywhere else? Anyway I can fix this? I've tried to flash a boost mobile (my carrier) stock rom but I get the same problem.

Which ROM/Kernel are you using? You can get better help if you post in that forum. If you're using stock rom, make sure you're flashing it in the right way, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/general/stocks-firmwares-moto-e-t3113235 for instructions.

@gameSTICKER has a good point. In addition, have you updated your partitions to the respective version of the ROM you are flashing? Out of curiosity, which build and version stock ROM have you flashed to your xt1526, are you using a custom recovery and, if so, what version?

Security patch 10.0.41.HD61CB

Just checked for updates and seen this.

after update Sprint bands showed up (Sprint was always much stronger inside house). Non-wifi calling now works inside house.
Can someone on .39, .40, or .41 tell me their baseband version listed in settings please?

This update keeps on failing on my device
yeah, i've got the same issue too. if i had to guess, i bet its a similar one to the issue that was preventing firmware updates a while ago, but i dont know.
so here, take a bump.
The most common reasons for the error installing are the reserve.img missing from unlocking or rooting. There is a thread for reserve.img. If you're rooted, use Magisk Manager to uninstall Magisk. Restore Images worked for me, no need to remove manager or anything.
I didn't get a prompt to reboot on this version. It just did it. So you will likely need a PC to re-root. The thread here lists all the commands.
