[Request] JB 4.2 Dual Status Bar for ICS - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone, I would love if someone could help ICS users to have a port of JB 4.2 dual status bar. :silly: I mean that one notification status bar and then again sliding quick settings bar thing really looks great. Thanks in advance :good:

I believe you mean you want the quick settings in the status bar and notification panel like on Jelly Bean 4.2? While I don't believe there is an exact port at this time check out the app Control Panel that is extremely similar to Jelly Bean 4.2's quick settings in the status bar.

You dont port status bars to launchers, the status bar itself is SystemUI.apk, if you are running an aosp ICS rom, you could try to import the SystemUI from an aosp JB ROM for the same or similar device, but the likelihood of this working is, well, unlikely. If that sounds like too much to you, than give this app a try

I assume you can port over any systemui from any 4.0.3 aosp rom. Although you'll get systemui crash during every boot, and after every call. It crashes after calls because the systemui bar flashes green during calls. Newt said that in order to get the aosp systemui to not crash during calls, the files for the green flash animation would need to be removed. Not a simple task I would think.

Any possibility of a solid black including pulldown??
Nice work.
I too would love to see a solid black statusbar.
nice work, not digging the battery icons tho. any plans to add more options?

Hey im odexed and for kicks and giggles I ran this and it worked pefectly fine!
Love the mod, especially the HC battery. Any chance you have copy with all white icons & text?
working on odex here as well.
moved this one to Themes and Apps section as well...
I love the honeycomb one. It's awesome. Is there anyway you can make it without the transparent status bar. Also the battery icon is a bit low quality.

It DID work on odex for me without problems.
op i repacked this without framework res and posted it to themes and apps will give cred
Thanks for this, it has made my home screen look 100x better. I just wish it would overlay the screen instead of sitting at the top ie so when I change screen I see the animation behind and I could dock widgets up to the top.
Just one thing I also noticed is that the background under the bar is quite a bit lighter then the rest so you can still see a bar it just looks like its got a torch on it.
any way you can make it work with Real Icon Theme v23 for UKB 1.3. I want the transpaency with his icons. I have installed his icons and then yours and yours takes control over the stausbar icons. If not i will live with it and thanks to you
does not work well with UKB with APM. When holding power buttonit will soft reboot (go to HTC screen then droid eye then back to phone screen) so unless you do not use the APM then it works great on UKB
deodex
I have stock odex Rom w root and system write kernel. Do I need to deodex whole Rom, or r there some files in particular like systemui.apk?
It works perfectly on my butterfly. Thanks.

[Q] Anyone doing special requests modding?

I thought about posting this is themes, but it is a question.
I prefer the stock feel of my OS with just a few tweaks. I hate the stock status bar lack of color. I want the original icons in cyan. I want the circle battery icon instead of the battery.
I need someone willing to build an .apk installer with my systemUI needs in it for me.
I've been using Jelly Beans 19 ROM and it's as close to perfect as any rom.
Also, if someone is willing to create a power boot menu with the recovery option .apk, that would be awesome.
I'm willing to pay reward/donate to anyone willing to help me out.
THANKS

Then my theme sounds right for you . There is options to skip the base theme and select status bar icon colors (they are stock just colored) a selection for toggles and plenty of battery choices. There is also S-Pen sounds and icons and mods for Clean Rom 3.5V.
The mods are all listed on my thead, check it out.

Edit: And it doesnt replace your APK, its universal .

Ok Thanks. I'm going to give it a try. But I have to admit, I'm pretty anal about my circle battery icon. Yours are cool, but not quite IT.

I can take one of the batteries above or from my other theme and possibly flip the image but it would have to be without numbers. Let me know. PM me.

Yea I just checked it and noticed that CM11 themes that hide the handle have that issue as well. I'll have to look into that.
Works pretty sweet on my Galaxy S2 running SlimSaberKat... :good:
Could you make an option to remove the whole handle, not just hide it?
So there is more space for notifications?

Yep! That's actually what I'm working on, but I've been quite busy recently. Also, I'm still somewhat new to xposed development so I just need to figure out how to implement it lol.

Is there any Xposed module to shorten the pull down panel just to show the notifications. I mean it's just ridiculous expanding all the way down to the bottom covering the whole screen with black for 1 notification.
can you make an option to hide carrier label too?
How about lollipop?
I understand it's been a long time since this thread but something similar... There isn't a notification handle in lollipop yeah, but there's this "No notifications" text that appears when you've got,...well, no notifications. I was wondering if you could look into that, do something similar? I really want a clean UI and "No notifications" kinda makes my OCD twtich. XD

Sorry I'm going out of topic, but please can you let me know which ROM you're using? :highfive: that notification panel is awesome !!!

How to change the style of the notification panel?

Hey guys,
I'm currently using the CM 13 ROM, which is based on Android MM as you probably know.
The Notication Panel looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I really would like to change the Notification Panel so it looks like this:
Just as a side info: I achieved the look of the panel shown in the second picture with the app "material status bar notific", but i really dislike this app and it doesn't work to well.
So is there any way to make my Notification Panel as shown in the first screenshot to look like the Notification Panel in the second screenshot?
I would appreciate your help, thanks alot.

Installing Android 7 (CM14) would give you a similar look (except for the color).
Or you can get the same thing I said above, on android 6, with Xposed and the N-ify module (except for the color).
On android 6 you might be able to use a theme to get the desired colors, though I don't know if themes play well with N-ify.

That isn't possible. Only Samsung ROMs have that as far as I know.
Maybe Google will implement something similar in a future android version. But for now, you have to settle for this.
