Battery Life for Locked Bootloader. - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Is there any way to increase the battery life on locked bootloader drastically, without undreclocking?Scripts maybe or some thing? In a noob! And control the temperature. Cause i hardly get around 14hrs of battery life and the cpu temp is at an average of 40 degree Celsius!
Please Help.
Thank Youll.

Locked Bootloader.

Check whether deep sleep is working or not. Turn off gps, wifi, data, if not in use. Reduce brightness, haptic, blah blah blah. And also check running apps, kill what not in use, task killer will help.

Moved to Q&A

Actually im not shocked to see the battery life but was shocked to see the avg. temp of 40 degrees. Check the apps taking most of your and disable them and there's no magic you can do on locked bootloaders but search for some scripts for ur mobile....the basic steps are listed by chepoz so follow them. And i'm not scaring but just warning you that due to the overheat problem many phones' touchscreen became unresponsive so after some equal intervals just take the battery and let the battery and the phone cool down just to be on a safe side...
Hope I helped,
Regards,
Abhinav

Okay, so if you can help me out with the scripts it would be really good!
Appart from the deep sleep thing(*dont really know what it is*) , Ive already done what chepoz said, it hardly helped.
Thanks a lot

Since I never faced such problems as my battery life never ended before 20 hours and max temp. reached is just above 35...so I can't help you for the scripts right now but now as u raised this question...so I'll just search here and let u know asap...

Yes
I tried though, all i found was the build.prop and the battery saver script by by Pimp my rom. Didnt really help a lot
If you find anything else :fingers-crossed: please share

Im just curious, but will your rom help with the battery issue? [ DeliciousSandwich 2.1 UPDATED]

[Q] (Q)Best rom and kernel for longest On time

After 2 weeks using my At&t atrix I realize that this handphone doesnt meet my requirement. I hope i can have a phone that will stand minimum a day without plug in for charging. Using my atrix for twitter, browsing and 4 miling list, it only can stand for maximum 8 hours.
Can anyone suggest me what is the best rom (and maybe kernel) for longest on time...?
thanks before

I have tried a bunch of ROM's. All give good battery life with Faux Stopgap+ 1.0GHz kernel. You will have to UV to get the best life. I am now getting 12+ hours with pretty heavy use, and could go 40hrs with low to medium use. Currently on Darkside ROM, but get same results with CM7 also.
I have WiFi and data on all day, but get best battery life using WiFi with screen on only and turning Wifi off while at work, which is how I can achieve the times above.
Ok, thanks for the info, already flash the kernel and will see if this kernel can make my phone stand for a day
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
CM7 nightly build 20 gave me the longest standby time. But I guess every phone is different.
After using the kernel for a day, the result isn't very good. Only stand for 6 hours.I attach the batt statistic. Why when the phone in idle the batt consume still high?
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
I think that the answer to this question isnt as clear as one may think...
1. CM7 while working good is still in beta, and Im assuming that it will stay there until CM9 arrives...
2.MIUI one of the more popular roms is currently in Alpha stages.
I believe that these two are probaly the most popular ROMs around, and not just for the MAtrix. I think that once we start seeing stable builds of both, it would just come down to a matter of preference.
For the time being, I use CM7. Its stable enough for everyday use, however it still has bugs here and there.
I'm desperately waiting for CM9 and I think that MIUI definitively deserves a try. In the near future I'm positive that this question would be a little bit easier to answer.
Btw what the best way to do UV ?

Have to experiment. Every phone is different. There are already numerous threads with info on this. Also, I now use System Tuner Pro instead of SetCPU. More options and better overall in my opinion.

Why all rom has the same battery life?

As the title says!
I always get the same battery life on any rom's flashed i even do calibrations.
Now don't get me wrong im not complaining or anything its just that before i could see the battery life changes in each rom ?
Can a battery get over used (old) ?

Lipol batteries loose charge capacity eventually after like 10000 charge cycles or something. Only poorly coded/alpha roms will have a serious effect on your battery life hope this helps

I was just teasing buddy
& getting to the point, we can add some battery tweaks to a custom rom than the stock rom. But we have to keep in mind that the less battery consuming means less performance. For instance, we can reduce wifi scan interval, so the battery life will be somewhat tweaked. But alas! Then users will complain that there is a issue with wifi, network finding time is very slow in this rom, etc, etc.
So the conclusion is, if you need a rom to be good or perfect, we'll need everything to be balanced. So everyone should be happy. So the battery life maybe same in every rom ( depending on usage) .

Do a data/factory reset, that will solve your problems, type *2767*3855# in the phone dialpad. Backup foto`s , files and stuff before that
It won't let me send the picture it says wrong file extension

Hi there,
If you go to Settings -> Battery - what does it list as using the most battery power?
Edit: You can downgrade to GB if a full factory format/reset doesn't work - you may be another unfortunate recipient of the Android OS wakelock bug.

Skip everything.
ICS sucks on battery life if you are using the stock ICS ROM.
I suggest you revert back to Ginger Bread or Get a new ROM developed by the Xda chefs in the android development section according to your preference.
THis will atleast extend your battery by 20% of the existing performance.
But if you prefer to stick on with ICS, then i suggest you upgade your battery to a higher capacity.
i.e 1900 mAh.

Switch to Cyanogenmod 9 nightly. You can underclock processor to 1000mhz. Battery works great then. Getting almost 1.5 days with moderate use. That's sufficient I guess. Cheers

try different rom and kernel. I have been using neat rom for few weeks, battery results are nearly the same as 2.36.

@Mzhaze3
My battery was suffering, not really bad but bad enough to notice it was worse than gb. I have since factory reset my phone (before i upgraded to ics without wiping data etc) and i have noticed major improvements! I am using the 1900 mh battery which helps as well. To sum up a factory reset helped me!
Nice pic btw!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Well one things for sure the factory reset has made a huge difference. I used to use juice defender and battery still didn't last longer than 12 hours and that's on GB than once i updated to ICS battery only lasted 4 to 6 hours depending on use. Since the reset i have had a whopping 24 hours with moderate use. So i defo recommend it. Thank you gee and thanks everyone for your input x
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
I have major battery problems since ICS update also, (network free, unbranded sgs2) ...... am i right in thinking a simple factory reset could make my battery last three times longer.
Potentially, seems to have helped many so far! It did me!

How much screen time are you using? If you use all day, yes it will drain very fast, especially 3G/4G Data.
For me, I get at max of 3 hours of screen time, and amazing Deep Sleep when the screen is turned off. I am using HydrogenICS, with Thoravukk kernel.
If you're thinking of getting an extra battery, look up on Amazon or Ebay. Anker i9100 Battery. Good quality stuff.
So everyone who's been experiencing battery issues should factory reset?
What will the factory reset to since I have a custom ROM installed?

I am using the stock ICS ch, after turning off "downloadagent & facebook app" my battery life has doubled.
I'm using the XSX Kernel with the MIUI ROM I'm getting much more than I used to on the ICS. I'm still new to the all these CPU governors and stuff. But yeah an improvement is what I'm seeing and I'm finally satisfied with the device.
Kernel :XSX v3.3
ROM MIUI 2. 27 or something [the newest]
Governor: Smartassv2
Do try it
I'm using MIUI ROM with advanced stock kernel and I can tell you my battery life is much greater than ICS.

I compared Note 3 and the neo side by side (exynos versions) and found no big difference.. Just the screen res difference is a visible.. Rest i think it was a wise decision to take this phone and the best part is that it has all the S pen features of N3 which i absolutely love!

Yup i saw ur thread about the sources and hopefully we'll get CM in a few months!

Any particular root app that makes the phone experience a lot better? And does greenify vastly improve ur battery life?
As it is im getting such great battery life.. But urs is another step ahead.. What i noticed is that screen is consuming just 12-15% of my battery life.. AndroidOS and mediaserver are consuming more.. Do u think there's mediaserver drain? This is a bit surprising cos in my S2 screen consumed ~65% of battery..

nop its nt a app issue its a firmware issue which i have alredy reported to samsung development depart. samsung drivers r some where fails in handling 2 different type of processor architecture 1.7 dual core and 1.3Ghz 4 core the issue is with the handling this issue is with samsung galaxy s4 also all octa processors but i have a fix for this by disabling the samsung voltage and underclocking values let the android handle the processor clock i will also post about that in my new thread after that your phone will run as iphone smooth faster than ever no need 2 reboot for speed up u can keep ur phone on without reboots your phone will always run smoothly dont worry giv me some time

Okay.. but it is a lot better in handling tasks than my mom's S4.. no overheating too!
Yup.. I will be patient!
Really satisfied with the device!
Great Performance, battery life, camera, wifi, gps and display.
I rooted with cf-autoroot and freezed some if the bloatware (which is the only annoying thing of this phone)
I hope some samsung based custom Firmwares will remove that in the future...

Im just utterly amazed by the battery performance.. the SOT is awesome!
all this without rooting I.e. no greenify!
but what im still not able to understand is why the battery consumed by internet & android system so high?
Battery life is kickass on this phone.Everything on stock and easily lasts more than a day. Wish I had that Ultra power saving mode feature from the Galaxy S5 ?
