[Q] Help! I can't select any options in CWM after installing JB 4.1.2 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

This is my second ROM flashed. I could navigate through CWM in my previous ROM, CM 9.1 just fine. Help is very much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not sure what to say.
1.I boot into recovery
2.List of options show up in CWM
3.Every time I tap the home button to access an option, for example, "install zip from SD card", it brings me back to the first option on the list.
Also. I can't get into the Google Play store. I'll tap on it and it instantly exits.

Also, my friend originally told me to root the phone and that he'd help me. He accidentally used the i9100 bootloader instead the i777 one for my phone. So the phone boots up as i9100, but when I go into "about phone" in settings, it says i777.

CWM recovery?

I can't seem to get to the CWM recovery, only the default Android recovery, which is preventing me from installing custom ROMs. My phone is rooted, and I've installed ROM manager, flashed CWM from it, and tried opening CWM recovery from ROM Manager, and by the button press method. No matter what I do, I end up at the default recovery screen.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Now rooted, installed cwm.. but it fails.

Okay so I used "Odin3 One-Click Downloader Stock I-777 UCKH7" rooted with success and when i go to into clockworkmod, it says E:failed to verify whole-file signature and E:signature verification failed.. any idea's?
I've only had the device for a week.
I just got my device today, and have the same error.
I used SGH-I777-ATTGalaxyS2RootStockZedomaxKernel.tar with odin
Can anyone chime in on this?

I started fresh again and didn't mess with rom manager, just boot directly into Clockwork.
how do i boot directly into clockwork without rom manager?
Like he said above, you hold down vol up, down and power. The recovery menu you were getting is the android recovery menu, not CWM.
Do your rooting over and try it again. You should see the CWM logo when going into recovery, it is noticeably different.

Aware, I prefer to have someone that's aware of the situation rather I do something wrong... I'm not familiar with the process...
1. I was on 2.3.6, Flashed with Odin to gain root.
2. It downgraded me to 2.3.4. With root.
3. Just asking what to do next so I can back up my stock rom and be able to flash away.

I always wonder why people go there then come here for help when their phones get messed up.
Follow this guide..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313659 flash back to stock first.
Then you can follow this guide to re-root and install CWM.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1311081
Don't forget to hit the Thanks button on creepyncrawly's threads.
Lastly, don't ever go use gs2root and rommgr ever again.

after that the triangle went away but it sent me to the android system recovery 3e, it gives me the option to reboot and ive tried that but it stays at the screen where it just says SAMSUNG GALAXY SII and doesnt do anything else, i try to go into download mode again and it sends me to the android system recovery 3e again with the other options being: 1)apply update from sdcard 2)wipe data/factory reset 3)wipe cache partition. i clicked on the wipe data/factory reset too and nothing happened. what do i do?

Wipe data/factory reset is the correct next step. Select that line using the vol buttons, then press the power button. You will see text appear that confirms the wipe was completed. Then your phone should boot.
Next go to the second guide that BROKKANIC posted for you (first link in my signature) and follow the steps. Feel free to ask if there is something you don't understand.

I would personally suggest against that. Just use odin to flash a gb custom kernel. Then flash one of the better ICS firmwares we have available in the development forum.

That's your call, of course. I'd recommend against it. If you really want stock ICS I'd at least install stock plus root, and install a custom and known safe kernel. See this thread in development.
Or, install the custom firmware of your choice from the forums here. For a popular stock ICS rom, there is Semi by AJ Newkirk.

Assistance regarding ROMS & Kernels.

Hello all, I am very new to all of this ROM and Kernel stuff so I'd like some help from you all, if possible. I would like, if possible, to use Paranoid Android on my Samsung Galaxy S2 (International) but I don't know how to go about doing this. I recently installed Cyanogen Mod 10.1(?) on my phone and I am bewildered and dumbfounded by the amount of functions and what their purposes are. I'm also very, very interested in themes but I can't seem to wrap my head around how they work and how one applies them to your phone.
All in all, I am very new to all of this and I would like some help if possible! ^.^

install the Paranoid android rom in the same way u installed CM10.1 on ur phone ma8
just follow the install instructions on the main page of that paranoid android rom thread.
also check for themes in the 'themes and apps' section that are compatible with paranoid android rom and follow the install instruction again there

[Q] cm 10.2 - lost root?

Howdy all. So I saw that 10.2 had been released for Vzw. So I downloaded it and gapps. Clean flash cm and now I can not reboot to recovery. I downloaded supersu and that won't update either. I downloaded quick boot to get the option for reboot to recovery. That doesn't do anything either. Any ideas out there? Might have to Odin or something.... I can't manually get to recovery either. Power off. Then vol up, home, and power. I get the blue text say it is booting to recovery but doesn't actually load up.
Thanks for any help.
