Could this be caused by a locked bootloader? Are you using an international s3?

The gs3 does NOT have a locked bootloader. The OP has to tell us wat he wants to do. And Nand write fail most probably means the nand memory is destroyed and needs new motherboard.

Because I have the international version I wasnt sure if some versions of the s3 not necessarily the gti9300 were all unlocked. I had read somewhere people were having issues with a possible locked bootloader hence the question.

I'm sorry, I'm not usually one for having a go or derailing a thread... but...
1. The OP has not explained his type of phone. It could be from anywhere. Have a different model code or anything. Korean? American? Canadian? Singapore?
2. The log doesn't say what type of phone he has, merely that he is trying to install that particular rom to it, for all we know it could be the wrong rom.
So to the OP what is your exact Model Number. Where are you from? Are you sure the rom you are installing is the correct one for your phone?
Are you just connecting the phone? or are you in download mode?

If he is smart and flashes the correct rom and is on the correct forum, his phone shld be Gt-i9300, the international model.

You guys realise the OP was made in December 2012? The second poster resurrected a dead post seeking a non-existent solution. The OP's phone has probably been landfill for over a year now.

bricked my phone SOLVED

I installed CWM touch, and superuser zip folder on my Galaxy note (att)
So I read a tut that said to wipe everything so I did on recovery mode, booted it up, worked good, went back because superuser didnt work right. I installed 3-4 times before it said success, now its goes to a crisp samsung logo, then goes blurry and stops.....
Stupid noob mistake I didnt backup anything. Figured it was simple as jailbreaking an iphone (which you cant mess up on, plug in, hit button, done)
I been trying it all but just cant get it to work.
If your phone still boots up
youre not bricked...
Odin back to a stock firmware (GB or ICS)
and start again

+1.
And if you can't find how to do that, you need to read more before flashing
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
It boots to the samsung logo, but not lock screen. And I'm phoneless now Lol.
Since I was just updated to ICS (att) and did CWM/superuser, would I just have to use odin>PDA with a tar file?
if so which file? I tried that but no luck.

:silly: I got it from a link in this note section, I should have seen that though.
So if I flash it, does it flash over the other flash? or does it add to it.
I'll continue readin.
Not all Samsung's are the same. You should only be getting tar files from your specific section. Keep in mind you need to match the model number

I would suggest going here and flashing one of these one clicks in Odin:

And if I'm not mistaken you want the first link. I don't have a note so maybe someone here can chime in.

That link worked good. Thanks so much to everyone, I about had a heartache as I got my phone like 3 months ago, and just got ICS on it.
This time I'm gonna read alot more before I try it again.
Good idea. Glad it worked. If ya ever have any questions in the future , don't hesitate to ask BEFORE flashing.

Also, after you open Odin & before you start flashing, make sure you check Windoze Task Manager & close Kies/any associated processes if they're running.
And...Do you definitely have an I9100 or I9100T ? Check the sticker on the phone chassis under the battery to be doubly sure if you need to.

OK. There's your problem right there. You have an I9100G. I think you'll find you tried to flash a rom for the I9100/T which caused it to get into a state where it won't boot/forced download mode.
You need to download & flash an I9100G stock rom. I don't have any experience with the I9100G (apart from seeing posts on here from people who have them), but look in this thread (I don't know which one you should use tho).
Edit - And be careful in future, only flash roms/kernels specifically for the I9100G

I HAVE MESS-UP WITH MY i9300!!!!
The incident is I was using custom rom, and installed some stupid app called "Adblock" or something,

custom rom by CWM, and after I pressed install in Aroma Installer, it just kick me out all of sudden, and
then, I couldn't get back to CWM anymore, so I decided to flash some stock rom by odin, but what
had happen was it starts until "Nand write start" and stacked for a while, and then just FAIL me.
On the net, I found that Checkrom Resurrection V4 could rescue softbrick i9300, I tried, but
no luck either. Finally, just now, I tried a 3 files stock rom with pit, and it came out as:

i was using Omega since v.9 until v33.2 at the last minute. and I found a video in youtube to resurrect my s3 by flashing Checkrom v4:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNaQfdOi56E
tried it as well, but it seems doesn't work as it kept rebooting / hanging at the Galaxy S3 logo. And I tried to flashed some stock rom (combo file) from Samfirmware, no luck neither. Tried to flash some stock rom (3 files + pit) HK base rom. Same happened. Fail after Nand Write Start.:silly:
and now, couldn't get into CWM neither.

Try TURN OFF antivirus, update Kies, Try on other OS.
Because I had the same problem with own S3.
Windows 8, AVG IS 2013, Odin 3.07,3.04.
Everytime after few second Odin stop working and show FAIL "Complete(Write) operation failed."
But on Windows 7, updated Kies to 2.5, turned off AVG, Odin 3.07, fresh downloaded rom ELK4, Galaxy S3 slowly but finished NAND write
and now I am happy againg

[Q] [HELP] My Note 2 won't boot please help!

Hello.
So, I will explain what i did first.
Last night, I was trying to root my note 2, using following link.
http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-root/how-to-root-verizon-galaxy-note-2-sch-i605/
(it was the first link from google search, stupid me...)
Anyway, after following instruction on that link, my phone got stuck in a boot loop. (ie. when i turn on, the samsung screen comes on, then verizon LTE and then back to samsung and so on.)
So, I tried to fix using following links
http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-n...ootunbrick-galaxy-note-2-with-stock-firmware/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272066&page=18
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...-do-i-restore-sboot-bin-causes-odin-fail.html
Samsung Kies
and still can't fix it.
Since you need more than these, here are some results from running odin, etc.
When I run odin with PDA file, I get following

When I power up the machine, I get following message.
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies &try again"
However, when I connect with Kies, Kies won't recognize my phone, and cannot go into recovery.
When I try CASUAL to unbrick, CASUAL doesn't connect. Also, when I try the download mode (via double-clicking the "DISCONNECTED"), it still can't recognize.
On "My computer", I do not see the I drive (my phone), so I don't think it is connecting....?
I have tried deleting driver and installing and Zadig program as well.
Can anyone help me with going back to original condition?
I would really appreciate and more than willing to pay for your effort.
Please help me.
Let me know, if you need more results.

Please read the stickies. There's your answer right at the top of this page. Also, I think you learned, but I highly recommend you stay with xda for guides. As you can see these sites just repost xda info and a lot if times it's incorrect or out of date and result in a brick.
Or you could have skimmed and saw where this was addressed just yesterday.

Did you include the pit file? That may be the problem. Also make sure you right click odin and run as administrator.

Lodingi it's not the pit. It's a locked bootloader and the op trying to write sboot.bin (which is blacklisted on the newer updates. That's why we use alternate restore because it doesn't contain sboot.bin so it will pass on Odin.
Edit to fix your name, sorry

[Q] Odin fails on SCH-i605 with CF-Auto-Root

Looks like I'm running into a brick wall trying to root this damn phone. first I soft bricked I but thankfully recovered but now after trying to root unlock using Casual and getting errors with generic usb drivers while in download mode I figured I'd be happy enough with just a root but ran into issues there as well. I'm currently running android 4.3 and every time I run Odin I get the following. I have tried v3.09. 3.07 and 1.87 and get the exact same error. I never had this much trouble rooting and unlocking my AT&T note 2 but Verizon is a nightmare. BTW I tried about 6 different versions of Casual and none worked. All of them take me to the recovery download screen and error out due to various reasons. In any case If anyone can guide me to get my I605 rooted, I would greatly appreciate it. On a side note could I downgrade to root66 rom and get rooted that way or would that brick my device? After that can I install custom roms? I don't have warranty any more and don't care about that. Just want root and custom roms and maybe an unlock

This won't work on stock 4.3 rom.... There is only one way of rooting and that is not recommended at xda.... But bootloader will not unlock at present

Thanks for the response, I was afraid of that I guess ill have to wait until there is a bootloader unlocker available for it. That one method you talk of is kingo right?
Ya... Kingo is the only option that I know
