[Q] No contact names after upgrading to Omega ROM V35 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Wondering if anyone has the same problem. Usually, when you look into your Call Log, you will see your contact names instead of just the telephone numbers. Well, after the latest upgrade to Omega ROM V35, I'm now just seeing telephone numbers after numbers. No more names of my contacts in Call Log. Am I missing some setting, or is there a bug in the ROM?

Okay, a few pointers before I link you to the fix.
1- Read the FAQ when you're installing a new ROM, or an update to that ROM.
2- Search the original thread for the ROM you are using. Literally hundreds of people have had your problem.
Instead of posting a question and waiting for people to answer, you could have run the search yourself, discovered that many people have offered the resolution to your problem, then you could have fixed it and moved on instead of just waiting around.

I found this in the Omega thread. Like I said, search is your friend.

go omega thread page 3914 if not mistaken download no contact name fix zip file and flash
yet, please read the 1st post for the rom thread =_=''

Thanks Bodoma and XeactorZ for your prompt answers. I did try to do a search in the forum, but it only turned up non related answers. Then under the Omega thread, I saw the message that says to look at post 38985. But when I went there, it only show me what's updated in V35. I got desperate, hence my posting. As you can see from my post count, I'm hardly a frequent forum member. Sorry about that.

Because he's read the rules and know's he/she can't post on the dev section until he/she has 10 posts or more, and thus is much more conversant with the forum rules than yourself. You should check them again.
Ivanthek - which theme was it?
If it was the first boot after the install, then its normal, because the whole framework needs to be loaded again.
sometimes you need to force reboot after installed a new theme. After that it will be fine.

Change Bootanimation

How do I change the bootanimation on my ace? I've downloaded a whole bunch from around the forums now I don't know how to change mine. I saw a post about just drag and drop to data/local but I can't find that folder. Does that mean I can make it?
I hope its not as complex as I've seen around. (Mounting through adb and putting in a whole bunch of codes)
i will advice you to atleast search GOOGLE for something rather than asking all the questions in way different threads.... you can search little and get answers

Need to re-odex

I need to re-odex my XWLPG based Neat Rom. I searched on XDA and found these two posts :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851567
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1402233
I tried out the second one but couldn't get it to work. Can someone please develop a simple CWM script so that I can just flash it and re-odex the whole ROM back ?
I am on Neat Rom XWLPG with CF-Root kernal for the same.

Swyped from my Galaxy SII
I have already seen that post. I specifically asked for a simple CWM script. It is available for the S3. With only a few lines of code edited, it should work with the S2.
Please create a CWM flashable file for the I9100

I already provided the link in the original post itself. It's the first of the two links I attached. You call me lazy and you can't even pay attention to stuff.
Besides, I did try one of the methods, couldn't get it to work. I even tried to edit the CWM script, couldn't get through with that too. And that's because I'm no expert in this field. Please try to avoid judging people based on a simple request.

1. I'll let you if there's something i can do about it. There may be a little delay; that's because, there is no i can test it, since I'm not on stock ROM
2. I'm using tapatalk, which always open any XDA link within the app without showing the forum. Therefore there was no way for me to have known that the first link belongs to S3 section except i open it in my browser (which i don't normally do for XDA links).
3. It is NOT my job to help you. I'm only trying to assist and you should respect that.

1. Even if you didn't know it was the S3 section, the post was about a re-odexing CWM script, which was the only relevant part according to my request. So it's quite evident that you didn't pay attention at all.
2. I didn't pull you out from your house and force you to help me. All I did was making a public request and you chose to reply to me voluntarily.
If you weren't capable enough to help, you shouldn't have replied in the first place, rather than passing your expert comments about me.

[Q] [Siyah Kernel] VPN Problem

Sorry not to post in the right thread/section but I'm not allowed to as my account is a fresh new one.
I've been looking for some thread on XDA about my issue but still, it doesn't resolve anything.
So here it is : I was using the F5 VPN edge client on my galaxy s1 w/o any problems. For those who don't know F5 VPN products, it's like a VPN server and the edge client enables my phone to connect remotely.
But now on my GS3 it s not working anymore. My GS3 is running Darky rom III and Siyah Kernel 1.5.3.. F5 has released an ICS version but I have the exact same problem as described in the following link : xxxx://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/13000/300/sol13351.html
I guess my problem is related to this famous tun.ko module. I have tried "tunko installer" but same result (it says "Can't find a compatible module for your device" but "tun.ko is loaded !").
Any help appreciated thanks!
Edit : my asumption is F5 is looking for the /system/lib/modules/tun.ko but this folder (and the file tun.ko ofc) don't exist. How could I manually copy this file ?

Please read carefully. XDA doesn't allow new members to do so.
Sorry not to post in the right thread/section but I'm not allowed to as my account is a fresh new one."
So yeah, the best solution for me would be to transfer this message to the right thread.
Btw I haven't found any solution. I'm gonna test with stock firmware/rom .

5. Create a thread or post a message only once.
As a large forum, we don't need unnecessary clutter. You're free to edit your message as you like, so if you do not receive an answer, revisit your message and see if you can describe your problem better. Not everyone is online at the same time so it might take a while before you receive an answer. (Also refer to Rule 16)
