flash an "eng" hboot (means engineering)
you should be able to find one somewhere around here... just make sure its specifically for the amaze.
Flash an eng hboot will change it to locked and not relocked? Flash hboot then lock the bootloader? My goal is to get it back to stock and have it say locked. Flash an eng hboot then the stock hboot?

I am s-off. It still said relocked.
I got i done by turning S-On then doing the wire trick to get S-Off then flashing the stock GB rom. Now it says locked and not relocked.
Just curious why would you even want to do that? Is it due to warranty issues?

Because when I'm ready to sell the device I would prefer it to be 100% stock or if I return for warranty. It is good now. I had the amaze for over a year and just recently modified it. I'm still running stock because everything is just too buggy.

I'm currently s-offed and running 2.01.605.11 gb ruu.
Now I need to use the warranty so I need to change the status s-off/unlocked
to s-on/locked not s-on/re-locked.
How can I do that?
the fact that you are S-off doesnt matter as some devices shipped are s-off but to get to locked run the same gb ruu again but dont unlock.
but if you really care about it saying s-on follow the instructions in this thread

by doing this, I can get the s-on, but still I can't get locked.
I need to know how to get locked on the bootloader to use the warranty.
Find a thread that has the correct hboot for your firmware then go to fastboot and type
Code:
fastboot clear cache
fastboot oem reboot ruu
fastboot flash zip (zipnamehere).zip
Then wait a little then do
Code:
fastboot reboot bootloader
That should do it and also I'm not sure it there's a space between reboot and ruu so try both

I had to find this out the hard way since was one of the release day 1 s off users an unlocked thinking a ruu would revert back to locked.

my first post is the only way to get to 100% stock that i am aware of ... if he is unlocked he will have to s-off to get it to say locked and then s-on to get it back.
if he locks it with the fastboot command it will say lock and if he is s-on not sure but i know if you are s-off you will stay unlocked or relocked even if you flash new hboot's

Something has been bothering me for the past two days. After achieving S-Off I went ahead and unlocked the boot loader via HTCDev (Noob Tool). Now after reading some post it seems I made a mistake Hboot currently says : unlocked and S-off and I also installed JB Hboot now I kind of want to go back to locked but also S-off ,can anybody give me some good directions on how to achieve this?
Also the main reason for this is that I think i messed up my proprietary port on my rezound and might have to take it back in the future. Just moving the phone around with the USB cable attached to my PC I constantly get disconnect and connect sounds on windows and loose inter SD access and Ext also. I just want to take precautions if I really do take it back so I can replace it and just S-On again.
Also I think I twisted the port while it was attached to the USB cable cause I slept on my phone while charging

Thats actually really wrong. S-Off is S-Off. Unlocked gives you access to additional fastboot commands (there are a couple hboots in the Dev section that do this without changing the locked status).

Correction, you need to S-Off again to become locked. There is a thread in the dev section about setting S-On (it's easy).
CAUTION: Make sure you are on the stock hboot when you S-On. If you S-On the GB Eng hboot or the Juponutbear hboot, you WILL brick your phone.

Everything you just said was wrong. Normal state after achieving s-off is a locked bootloader. Locked won't matter because there are no longer any security checks. You can essentially flash whatever you want.

Just to clear this up for you, if you unlocked after achieving s-off you will not be able to lock again without returning to s-on then back to s-off. If you try to lock now using fastboot oem lock you will end up "relocked".

Well im about to send my old phone back and ran the RUU then did the s-on procedure. i relocked my bootloader and says relocked.... i ran ruu again and says the same thing! any suggestion?
Do you think verizon would charge me for this?

i've never heard of a returned phone being rejected for any reason other than physical damage. and if you are super worried about it there is a link to hex edited hboots.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1853871 you already s-on'd so you might have to s-off again. not sure about that part though

I think you might have to s-off. Downgrade to GB or a lower ICS RUU. Lock it. s-on. then do the ICS RUU. Should be back to locked and s-off.

Other poster is correct. Have to run s-off. Rerun RUU to unroot and then write s-on flag. Will remove all tags and be box stock.

Not of after you S-OFF. When you do, the bootloader locks automatically, and says LOCKED not RELOCKED.

So I am already s-off. Can I run the latest ICS RUU, then s-on? Will that send me back to a totally looking stock phone?
Why not just flash one of the missed hboots that says locked and s-on when you're actually s-off? I had mine unlocked and s-off and then made it s-on and sent it back in to Verizon and they sent me another one, no questions asked. Don't worry about it.

Might help to think of HTC Dev Unlock and JuopunutBear S-Off as the two "gatekeepers", the two tools in the Rezound's current arsenal that affect the security flag. The security flag starts off as "locked" on a stock phone.
HTC Dev Unlock will alter the security flag to show "unlocked", and running the code to lock it back will now show it as "relocked".
JuopunutBear S-Off will reset the security flag back to "locked" no matter what the flag reads, and alter the "S-On" flag to "S-Off".
So to get back to a stock "S-On/Locked" from any of these states:
"S-On/Unlocked or Relocked"
If you are S-On and have used HTC Dev Unlock, you will need to do S-Off to get the "Locked" message back. Run a RUU, then do S-On procedure.
"S-Off/Locked"
If you are S-Off but have *not* used HTC Dev Unlock after the S-Off procedure, you should just need to run a RUU and do S-on.
"S-Off/Unlocked or Relocked"
If you are S-Off and have used HTC Dev Unlock since the S-Off procedure, you must run a RUU, re-lock the bootloader if you have not done so before, and do S-On. Then, do the S-off procedure (keep the stock bootloader, do not flash a modded one) and do S-on again.

So I was s-off and unlocked. I just flashed the latest ICS RUU. Now you are saying I need to lock my bootloader and then s-on? Then s-off with the wire trick again, then s-on one more time? Will this all work with the latest RUU I have installed?
It sounds too complicated to get rid of the "RELOCKED" sign...

I think you need to flash another eng bootloader.
so I was trying to put my phone back to stock, I was s-off, I was following this [How-To] From S-OFF to 100% Stock S-ON [Facepalm/JTAG/RevOne/Moonshine] but I just in a hurry and missed that I had to flash the ruu before I wrote the Verizon cid, so now I'm stuck in bootloader with no os, it's relocked and s-on, can anyone help thanks
