[Q] Download songs directly into play music PHONE app? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyway for me to download a song from a website on the phone (Nexus 4) and put the music into the play music app? So is there a certain file location where the offline music is stored on the phone?
Thanks, Adam.

Go to Play Music>Settings>Refresh.
Boom! New Music. It should do this automatically, update the app if you have not.

Repeated MP3 files...

I just started using the app Ayal to download music on to my vibrant while I'm at work, if I don't I'll blow my brains out all over my keyboard. Anyway, for some reason on my music player I have the same song repeated twice. Yet, when I use Astro to check if I downloaded more than file I only see one. Is this a problem with the app or with my music player?

It's not supposed to. Play Music is only for music you have uploaded to Play Music
Go the the phone browser, navigate to Google play music and then upload the tracks you have. You'll be advised to do this on a desktop if you have more than as few you want doing

Go to Settings, App info, find the Google Play application. Click Clear data. When you relaunch the Google Play app it'll find your songs. It worked for me.

Well, seeing as 3 days ago it let me move all the music to the SD card, and originally had no problem recognizing it at first, its strange that it is suddenly not supposed to.

Need help with music app

I have a bunch of music on my phone and one album in particular doesn't show up in my music app. I can see it on the phone when I look in the file manager and I can even play the songs from the file manager but I can't get it to show up in the music app. I am running all stock. Does anyone know how I can get the album into the music app? It's one of my all time favorite albums.
