Hey. I just got a new Samsung Galaxy Ace and it's the S5839i model. I heard from word of mouth that s5830i roms work with my model but I'm not certain. Is this really true?

S5830i,S5830C and S5839i are the same. The 9i is for carriers.

Yup. Ace 2 is really nice, but not yet as popular as ACE. So if you want to stay on stock rom, take the Ace 2....or wait for sometime for development to start for it.
There are phones better than Ace, like Se live with walkman...but not many roms and support.
