How long does it take your JetStream to fully charge?

Just wondering, I bought two JetStreams last week and both of them take a while to charge; I would say over 8 hours. My previous tablet would get fully charged in less than 4 hours.
I love this tablet and besides the usb port and audio jack placement that's the only other thing that's bothering me at the moment.

Using the 9V charger that has been provided by HTC, I can charge my tablet in around 3-4 hours - not sure though - will clock it next time I charge.
However if you use a 5V charger which is used by other phones, it will surely take longer.

That's what I suspected, I bought these tablets on ebay and they both came with the smaller 5V chargers. Just wanted to double check, thanks for the reply.
Yea I got a small charger as well from that ebay sale. Using my iPad charger(switched the usb cable). What's weird is after a few minutes on 100% the second I unplugged it could go down to 9x%. I had to leave it for a bit longer for the charge to stick to 100% unplugged.
Well I have tried around 4 or 5 different chargers and with all of them it's taking over 8 hours to fully charge my battery. I don't know what's the deal with this tablet, I bought the OEM genuine charger from eBay and even though it's bigger than the one that came with the device - which is a phone charger; the output voltage is the same 5V.
I tried switching the cable to my girlfriend's iPad charger and it's still taking a while; it's starting to annoy me. Battery life hasn't been an issue though, it lasts over 24 hrs under moderate use - netflix, web browsing, emails, eBook reading...etc. So I don't think it's a bad battery because it holds a charge just fine, it just takes too damn long.
Any ideas, comments or suggestions?
Its not the voltage of the adapter but the output amperage that matters.
The small adapter that came with my ebay JetStream only supplies 200 milliamps (mA) and can take 2 nights to charge fully (i.e., overnight will only charge it to 60%-70%).
As a point of reference, the adapter for my Bluetooth headset is 180 mA.
My BlackBerry charger, which charges my JetStream in a several hours, has an output of 700 mA. Actually, I have never timed it, but it does not take over night to fully charge it.
The AT&T site has a HTC wall charger for the JetStream - does anyone know what the output amperage of the HTC wall charger?
I Have the ATT power cord.
Output 9V, 1.67A
Full charge for me is approx 3 hours, maybe a little more but i've only let my tablet go almost to 0 once.
Hope this helps, Charles
My girlfriend's ipad charger outputs 5v, 2.1A and it still takes a while to charge with that one. All my other chargers are also 5v so i guess im gonna have to get a 9v one to see if i notice any improvement in charging time.

Last post seems to apply to my problem:
It will take about 4 x longer than the OEM for the same amount of charge.
If you operate the Flyer while connected, it might not charge at all, but will discharge at a slower rate.

Any feedback with using alternative chargers?
It has taken one hour to give me 10% more battery life.

Edit. I'm going to order the 9v 1.67a genuine charger for 15.00. That will solve this problem, as I have the replacement HTC charger that is 5v 1a.

Yes,your 100% correct. Don't know why the eBay company that shipped these all in the HTC box, didn't put the original charger. I think I'll write to them, although it may not help any.

Nexus 10 charging time, with graph

Hi *@*,
I like to know exactly how long my gadgets need to charge, so I made this graph.
-charging started at 1% battery left
-WiFi/sync ON, display OFF
-original 5V/2A charger and cable used
Total charging time: 6h 8min, about 18%/h (between 0% and ~80%).
Enjoy!

I thought I saw in an article that it looked like Google/Samsung was going to have a pogo charger in box, but pulled it at "the last minute." Don't know if it's true, but a bummer all around that we didn't get one.
Also, this comment: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34249045&postcount=6
thats a long time for a 2amp charger
seems to work with my 1amp note charger though
Has anyone look looked in the sysfs to get a better idea of how much power the tablet is actually drawing from the charger? I know the charger is 5v/2a but what is the tablet actually reporting. It is possible that the tablet is incorrectly identifying the charger and only allowing ~1a. It wouldn't be the first time this has happened.
Iam very happy with micro usb charging.
+ >4 chargers at home (not easy to find the right ones, but galaxy note charger has enough power)

i dont need the pogo charger for charging - but its good to have a dock connector

The Note 2 charger is 2 amp so it should charge just as quick
I was around 8% or so, and then I left my N10 to charge overnight (5-6 hours) from the wall charger. Woke up to it fully charged
Had WiFi enabled, sync on, and Asphalt 7 downloading in the background.
I was at 37% at 1:30am, woke up at 7am and it was only at 61%. Given, this was using a staples brand dual USB wall port with my GSIII plugged in as well. I certainly hope they release a pogo charger soon.

or a current app/widge that works?
i have one for my Note, but wont work on the Nexus 10
so if i get an apple charger or equiivalent from Ebay, the ones with 12W rating 2-2.4A will it chargee my N10 faster than the stock one? im guessing not by much. currently its taking 6-7 hours to charge. and if i forget to charge it over night, then kinda useless next day.
If anyone is looking for an alternative USB to AC charger, get the one from the HP touchpad. It's one of the best ones out, topping garbage like the apple one.

my asus infinity that im selling on ebay now because of this, took 2.2 hours from 0 to full
My iPad 3 takes 7.5 hours to charge from 0% to 100%. So this sounds pretty similar.

9000mah battery, 2000ma charger, a little amperage falloff when its mostly full which you can see in the graph... It should take ~5 hours.

Hi,
I did not understood your question. is your question is "is 3-4 hours is normal charge time for your phone?
I have the 9205 MEGA 6.3 and it looks like this is about the right charging time with the original power supply (Charger).
I check on the samsung USB charger and this is a 5v / 250Ma chargeur. I replaced the charger by a old USB Blackerry charger 5v / 500Ma and it is charging now in less than 3 hours.
Did somone try a 1A charger to see if it is faster??
Thank you.
use a samsung charger
When u use a samsung charger with it. Charging is faster. I for one use the plug alone with by blackberry usb (cos its longer) but if I use any other charger. .. thats some pretty slow charging id be experiencing so I go everywhere with the charger in my backpack
LosNaija
Usually mine charges fully in 2 his or less.

[Q] Galaxy Mega 6.3 EXTREMELY slow charging.

My wife has a 3 month old Galaxy Mega 6.3 and it will not charge correctly. It will not change when it's on enough to keep it on. Last night I had her charge it while it was off and after 12 hours it was only at 48%. We have tried new chargers, new cords, taking the battery out for a while, nothing is working. Any ideas? It's completely stock, no root.
Hi .. make sure that your chargers output power is 2.0A don't use chargers with 1.0A or 0.7A output or it will charge slowly .. and try to use a short cable ..shorter is faster .. If this didn't help maybe the problem is with the battery it self buy a new one

Yeah, we used an oem charger and cable and a charger that puts out 5v and all the same charge rate
I think 5v is too much & dangerous for the phone maybe it'll ruin your battery

Hi..the original charger for the mega 6.3 is 5v with a 2.0A charging rate, can you test another battery from a friend to see if it is the battery.
I literally have never seen anyone with a mega besides her lol. My next plan was a new battery, but I didn't think a 3 month old phone should need one yet.

Hello SumCanadianGuy
To be sure to get fast charge with most Samsung smartphones, you need an original Samsung charger AND a fully connected (4 wire) USB cable.
Charger outputs 5.3 to 5.7V and pin 2 and pin 3 (data pins) are shortened together inside the charger to indicate the phone that he can draw fast charge current.
All my original Samsung wall chargers are rated only 1A. It doesn't mean that they can't output more current for a short time. I get fast charge every time.
If either your charger isn't an original with pins 2 & 3 shortened, or your cable has no data connections, you won't ever get fast charge. By example, if you try to use a powerful 2A or more iPad charger with your Mega, you won't get fast charge, just because the other world doesn't conform to USB
If you can, try an original Samsung wall charger with an original Samsung usb to micro usb cable.
Hope this helps
I have same problem with my Samsubg Galaxy Mega 6.3
I tried everything (change battery, cable, charger) but nothing help.
Charging is slow but during all night it could charge to almoat 100%
It only could be hardware failure...
If you want to see power of charging install app Galaxy Charging Current Lite.
Power of charging should be 1900 mA and I could get only 300 mA...

[Q] S3 not charging at 1000 MAH!?

I found a thread on XDA which told me to download Galaxy Charging Current to check how much MAH I get when charging my phone.. So I have tried charging the phone with the ORIGINAL S 3 charger and the current_max I get is 600 .. Should this not be some were near 900 or 1000? I had a SONY charger and USB cable I used 2 previously use to charge the S 3 which charged the phone VERY quickly however I had to sell the SONY phone so gave the Charger away as well.
I have tried using a Galaxy S 4 charger to charge the phone and I see a massive difference in the speed it charges.
Result:
Galaxy S 4 charger ..... The phone went up 4% in 2.5 - 3 minutes (Not my charger so cant keep using it)
Galaxy S 3 charger ..... The phone went up 1% in 3 minutes
Should I just buy a S 4 charger for the S 3? The charging speed is sooo much better than the original s3 charger?
Someone please reply!!
Thank You.
Should indeed be around 1000mA, but it does tail off towards the end of charging. No need to buy an S4 charger just a half decent branded wall charger rated at least 1000mA should be fine.

The reason I am saying I would buy a S 4 charger is because I have already tried it with the phone and it charges it fast. Also I heard the S 4 charger is rated at 2.0 amps therefore I am just best of buying it.. At a price of £5.45 from Ebay.. It cant go wrong than that?
1 more question... Currently I have the original battery in my S 3 .. Is it worth buying a 6000MAH battery for the S 3 and how long will it last with a little use of Facebook and You Tube?
Thank You!!

Hi,
Thank You for your reply and sorry for the late reply. I have checked the price for the GENUINE S 3 charger and it costs around £6 and the S 4 2 AMP charger cost some were around £6.19. Therefore compared to buying a 1.0 AMP I would rather buy a 2 AMP charger. I have already tried a S 4 Charger on my S 3 and it did charge the phone very quickly whereas the GENUINE S 3 charger I have takes more than a minute to do 1% which is just unacceptable. I know its not the phone as I have tried the S 4 charger and it did charge it quickly.
I am thinking to buy a bigger battery for the S 3 while I am at it as the stock 2100 MAH battery does not last that long.. On Ebay I see 6000 MAH battery's and one 7000 MAH.. Which should last a lot longer..
Thank You!!!
