[Q] Stupid sim lock help - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a very stupid problem that I need help with.
Okay so I bought my SGSII around a year ago, It is a Gt-I9100M model from Bell Canada
I got it sim unlocked from one of those online websites. It was going great for a year and even after the ICS update. anyways recently I flashed custom rom on it and it got locked again. I tried both the chainfire unlock method and it said no code available and I tried the galaxy_s unlock one as well.
Both don't work. I returned back to stock ICS firmware and tried them again and still they aren't working. I'm really po'd at the moment because nothing I really need this device to work asap.

Did u pull of battery and sim once til now?
Did u try a factory reset? (After going back to stock)
Last option is to ask the provider in any way....
Sorry no more ideas from me for now...

Replace it with what?

there isnt an either way right? I can't just put in the code?

This is an easier way you dont have to enter the code just replace the file and change permission and restart there you go unlocked

alright I have to reroot it this should take a few minutes. Will this work on a custom jellybean rom? So can I move the file and all that on the rom or do I have to stay on stock Ics?

It will work everywhere bro even in android 50.2

and its permanent as well right? So I can switch between roms and I would stay unlocked?

Yeah it is permanent and you will always stayed unlock

Okay I'm rooting right now and I'll replace the file and tell you how it goes.

Dont forget to change permission of that file set permissions with root explorer to (rwx---)

okay I'm still reinstalling the rom and rooting...
sorry for the spam :/
The only reason I asked if it was permanent was because my other sim unlock that I paid for somehow got locked again

Its still not working

I restarted it and it still asked me for an unlock code...
For file permissions you mean (rwx------)

Yea, it's same IMEI in everywhere.
Thanks
I suggest you to flash some ROM, i think it will remove any SIM Locks and so one. Find ROM on development forum for your phone.
You can get a Worldwide sony ericsson Unlock Code from imeicodes.co.uk this however takes about a week to get your code, so you need to be patient. The code will work fine aslong as you havent used up your tries to enter it (just like a nokia phone). It's a good idea to check your unlock code attempts before ordering a code by doing the following:
Press menu < < menu < menu menu <
Then you can check the counter [0 or 5].
If it says 0 then you cannot enter codes.
And STOP giving your IMEI on public sites!

Thanks. but, now im trying to install custom rom to my mobile.
Thanks again for infor
This http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888227is not ROM but tutorial on making new one. I'm using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059361 and it's very good. First you have to check if your Baseband Version is M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015 (Settings→Phone info (I don't remember how it exactly is in English). If not, you must use FlashTool to change it. Next, you have to root your device, install ClockWorkMod (xRecovery) and flash your new ROM.
I'm not sure if it will remove SIM Lock although it's worth of trying. Ask if you have any questions.
Sorry about my english if I wrote sth wrong

Good night. (3:25 AM here )
99% sure roms don't remove sim locks :<
Flashing a ROM has nothing to do with your SIM Lock. So no flashing will magically unlock your device. You need to get the proper unlock code, or have someone with a unlock dongle to do it.

Sure if you got more tries to use with correct unlock code you still can do that.
Else you can get it unlocked via dongle.
You can try and PM the guy in this thread:

[Q] Help root

I have follow this instruction http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27756968&postcount=393 from firth step to last step everything is ok have the supersu also.. I would like to know if my phone is now rooted??
If superuser is there that means it is rooted, but if you want to verify download "es file explorer" and enable the root explorer in settings..when you enable it you'll get a prompt asking you to grant access if you are able to grant permissions that means you have rooted.
Or simply plug-in your phone to the pc and launch flashtool, it will say if ur device is rooted
It say Root Access Allowed in flashtool..Means im ok Rooted??
If yes i want to put that in my phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1724602 cannt paste in system which explorer have to use?

A little help with my Xperia Sola...

I've decided to root my phone... as far as I know I won't lose my warranty If I'll be rooted right?
So All I want is just root permissions... NO custom ROMS or Kernels.
I am using GB stock 6.0.B.3.184 firmware android 2.3.7
So Do I need to unlock my bootloader to root? Or I can proceed without doing that?
And could someone provide me with link how to root Xperia Sola with GB stock firmware?
Thank's
Please... I have looked everywhere.
Also found sources where people are searching for a way to root phone without upgrading to ICS with no luck.

You can root without unlocking your bootloader. Bootloader need to be unlocked only if you want to flash custom kernels or roms like cm9,cm10, miui etc.
You can try this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
Confirmed on the first post that works on sola also. Hope works with gb also

My bad mate. Try this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849030.
Hope this works. I don't use gb and can't tell you for sure which is the best choice, i am looking in various threads to find the best way.
You can also have GB with root permissions with a LOCKED BOOTLOADER

Thanks for your effort, I appreciate that
This one says It needs fastboot, so do I really need to unlock bootloader?
How hard is it..? To unlock bootloader, As far as I know it can be done at Sony homepage, Whats the advantage of unlocking it and do it has any cons... already know that it means lost wariaty, and that's a risk.
And finally can bootloader be locked again? To make everything as it used to be?

you do not need a custom recovery and with root not much can go wrong,
Rooting does not affect your bootloader
rooting does however affect your warrenty, removing of root does restore the status of your warenty since the modifacations no longer exist
you do not need recovery
your bootloader is locked from being manufactured, its only unlocked if someone unlocks it which sony wouldent do as its used to monitor if someone has modified their device but root exploits is a way around this
