You also flashed jb kernel, right? And you have put it in slot 1 of bmm or where?
Edit: I will try it this afternoon, and see if I got better luck than with the nandroids posted in the patch thread I would like to know if I should install it in slot 1 of BMM + JB kernel like I did with the others.
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app

how many time the first boot take to be 100% ready? im in 4 minutes and totally black screen with red led on.
did i made something wrong? (installed bmm030f, rebooted, choosed recovery, system 1, install zips Rom+gsmand rebooted.)
ops... i let this explained just to warn other users.... i forgot to wipe.
update2: even wiping still blank screen, no error, no bootloop, just all blank. i sucessfull restored my old system (miui 2.12.14) on system1 and im ok now, but want so much to test this rom. if someone want to help me, just pm or give some light here.

i think you should install JB kernel (as the overal post said)
or
if you want use with ics kernel flash the patch which attached here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35948115&postcount=1

the jb kernel works on ics rom without bugs?

I installed this rom with jb kernel (doing the whole procedure explained by whirleyes), and gsm patch in bmm slot 1. So far it works *great*, and battery life seems awesome, thanks a lot to the dev

It doesn't. You should carefully read the jb patch thread, it's explained there.

The instructions are clear but I have a NOOB question. I assume I would need the latest version of SS (3.07), but I am not sure in regards to my phone. Can I come from the .211 OTA or do I need to flash the JB OTA first? I figured since the rom is built on a different kernel I would need the JB OTA first. Also, would I be able to return to my .211 OTA build of ICS after updating to the JB OTA?
Thanks for your patience with me...

You should flash the JB kernel as stated in whirleyes' patch thread in order to be able to go back to ics, afaik if you flash the full jb ota, you won't be able to downgrade.
Besides that, i think that my battery is not measuring well, or my phone is radiactive, it shows about 80% remaining since 2 hours ago... battery graphic is horizontal. Edit: nevermind, now it's at 76% (impressive if real)

As stated in the post above mine, you would need to flash the JB kernel before flashing this ROM without fully flashing the JB OTA. If you flash the full JB OTA, there is absolutely NO WAY to go back to ICS.

Thanks for your help, both of you guys. spc_hicks09 I hope you're enjoying the high noon sun over there in the Pacific, snow's coming down way over here on the east coast, I want to go back to Wailea and Waikiki beach:crying:

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
BE AWARE THAT THIS IS VERY VERY BETA. THINGS ARE BROKEN ON IT. I DON'T WANT REPORTS OF ISSUES THAT I HAVE LISTED BELOW. I WILL BE FIXING THINGS AS I CAN. DO NOT AS FOR AN ETA, AS THIS IS PRETTY DIFFERENT FROM PREVIOUS BUILDS.
How To Flash
Place ROM onto phone storage
Reboot to recovery
Make a Nandroid
Install Rom: Wipe INSIDE ROM
When you select "Reboot Not", you'll get a CWM error, IGNORE IT
Install OPTIONS or Gapps

Bugs??:
KNOWN ISSUES:
Videocamera : Use VideoCam Illusion
Slight Lag possible on screen transitions
USB tether
The graphics related issues are due to not having proper drivers to use for this. Don't ask for an ETA on a fix. Moto won't be giving us the drivers, so there is no fix
If you need to report a NEW bug, report it once, and the next TWO people VERIFY it. I don't need everyone reporting same bug 20 times. I you can, provide me the following information:
Version you're using
What type of fwipe you did and what ROM you came from
Have you restored any data from something like Titanium Backup
What app is misbehaving and what you were doing when it started
Logcats<--THIS IS PREFERRED.
If you don't know how to logcat, go HERE and learn. This really nice guy took the time to write out a good how to
When you have a LOGCAT and would like to post it, please go to pastebin and post it in there, then LINK that location in this thread...I don't want to see them posted directly in here.

Good job man, are you now including a theme? Or does that come with one of the Options packages?
Can this be dirty-flashed over 10/10, or just cache/dalvik?
I see you've got your own recovery now. Is that the same as the "joker's v3 CWM" that everyone recommends, or something else?

Something else. Newer. Vers 6.0.1.5. I have flashed MIUI, CM10, and AOKP with it now....worked perfectly for it
Theme is just an example of one that is in the market (Cobalt)
If 10.10 is 4.1.2, then I would say yes. If it's still 4.1.1,then no, you would need to wipe all....just to be safe. I forgot which version of android 10.10 is...LOL

Okay, definitely checking out your recovery then. I really prefer TWRP (bunch of reasons, not just the touch) but if one works better than the other for some ROMs, no reason I can't go back and forth.
Kind of waiting for CNA (I know you're waiting on the dev) but CM10 10/10 is rock solid. And it's 4.1.2, I believe it was your first 4.1.2.
I knew you had a thing for Cobalt, but I'd only seen the red one. I just got one called "Elegant Green", it's okay but wasn't really what I was after. I might have to learn to theme and make my own, or just get ROM Toolbox. The default CM theme is fine, I'd just change all the cyan to a shade of green (I'm kinda bad with hex, but around #00DD30 is what I like).
Anyway, thanks again for your work on this. I can hit the Thanks buttons, but it needs to be said more. So, thanks. :good:
Thanks Bill for everything! Can you possibly include a changelog for the builds either on here or in goomanager? Thanks again!
Bill. What is the difference between your CWM vs. Joker's CWM v3? Just curious if its better to be flashing your CWM vs. Jokers for your CM10 ROMs. Thanks.

Not able to flash any rom
When I'm flashing any rom in the recovery an error comes "Can't open /emmc/name of the rom.zip(bad)"
Help please
Dirty flashed 10/28 over 10/10 (both JB 4.1.2 ROMs), everything seems to be in order. Data works, su works. (10/10 had been flashed clean after a "wipe all".)
Finally took your theme advice and installed Cobalt... Kiwi Cobalt. It's his green one. It's the best green theme I've used. I'm seeing a lot of elements from Mixer (or maybe Mixer borrowed from Cobalt) so it's not at all unfamiliar. Now I just need a nice dark brushed-metal wallpaper (currently on the one in the first screenshot) to complete my black-on-green look. Might also alter the wallpaper to have a green Cid instead of cyan (can one simply extract a wallpaper out of a wallpapers chooser pack like that?).
How come no real progress is being done with battery life? I'm running Bills's and Jokers roms from the beginning, I'm using GSM and I barely have any apps, I have only one google account synced and I barely get 8 hours if I don't use the phone at all, I thought it was related to the KDDI modem so I flashed back to stock, I now have the n_01.28.05s.fk modem and still same battery life.
Will the new drivers/kernel improve battery life? is any of Bills other JB roms (aokp, CNA, Paranoid) better optimized for battery life?

An apology to everyone for leave pending comments, but I work all day (I'm a automotive mechanic). If you do not want to use sdmerge just have to install the rom and gapps, the step4 is for sdmerge.
EDIT:
Updated the main post, I hope to clarify doubts, and I hope this well explained, because I'm using google translator, and translate what you want, as some English if some bad words do their best to make the sentence make sense.

Thanks man, no problem. I noticed english isn't your mother tongue so I just wanted to make things right you know Thanks once again. I will try out your ROM and report bugs and give suggestions, since I really want a ROM whose main property is speed.
link not working?
dude i am not able to download the step 4 from sendfile.su..can you provide another link?
I am not having luck with this rom. I flashed it ovet latte rev2 without sdmerge. Phone froze a lot of times, when trying to log in into google play it freezes. I had to pull the battery out. I reflashed 4 times but everytime it's still the same. I guess it ain't working without sdmerge. Any ideas? I'm on v10G

These versions are based on the XWMS1 Firmware with the stock kernel.
Everything is original so no added applications and no applications deleted.
These Roms are mentioned for people who want their original system back without the risk of bricking through odin or getting the yellow triangle.
The fully original version is the Odexed if you are going to bring your phone back to samsung repair service or going to sell it.
I just extracted the rom cause i didn´t saw anywhere that the roms(XWMS1) are uploaded without modifications.
I Tested all the roms if everything works and or it bricks your phone.
If your phone got softbricked (Repairable with odin) or a war has started it isn´t my fault.

that's right sometimes we just need to get back to stock without increasing that binary counter, personally i prefer switching between NeatROM & Odexed Rooted version so i guess Your Odexed version will be flashable via CWM ?
second question is, do we need gapps for Stock Sammy ROMs ?

Yes it is flashable and no you dont need gapps
i am now uploading the only deodexed version i accidently switched the links from odexed and deodexed cause it was late
Edit: i tested the roms but there could be also maybe some corrupted apk if you find one then report it and i wil make an update zipfile containing the corrupted one
Did anyone founded an app crashing in one version or is everything working then i get no response
can someone test the lighter version of the Xwms1 deodexed rom.
Because my pc crashed i lost the files cause its all corrupted on ubuntu.
If someone would need it then i could redo it all versions but then i need a beta tester cause i am going to sell my galaxy s2
Thanks. Have you though of getting the last sammy base ?

Also which hosts do you want Google Cloud or Mega.
If i have made new versions then i need someone to test it then i wil post it if someone want to test it

.290 System Files - Create some custom ROM's [C6802 & C6806]

Here is the framework from the .290 update from Sony. (4.3)
It’s for anyone and everyone to use to make a ROM based on Sony’s latest firmware.
I've extracted it from a C6802 & C6806 base and uploaded it here for anyone to use:
C6802 LINK
C6806 LINK
Note:
1: This is not a ROM. However it’s everything you need to make one... except the installer script.
(The script = Recoveries use a script to flash the ROM)
2: Its not modified in anyway (remains odexed, and not zipaligned)
The purpose and hope, is that some of you will want to learn how to make custom ROM’s. It's not very hard and will just require a bit of reading, and some preexisting knowledge of linux would help…
There are quite a few tutorials on how to create a recovery script so use the 'search' feature within XDA as me positing another method would just be repeating what I've read & learnt. i.e. waste of time.
And here's a tutorial to make roms in windows without coding  (credit @dsixda) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272270
And potential rom builders, don't forget to grab the remount-fixed stock kernel that includes dual recovery (credit @ChillyChan). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2575909

Hey buz.. I put together a rom (not finished) but I'm in hospital at the moment.. Not serious, have an IV in my arm due to vomiting and diarrhea for too long . So I can't do anything else. Nice way to spend Xmas eh! I'll send you the Google drive link that I uploaded a few days ago as my backup. Let me know how you go. You'll need to flash the modified kernel.
@hamdogg bummer of a way to spend Christmas, hope you get those fluid levels up quickly! I've put all of boxing day aside for rom stuff so will have a look then (and watching Aussies smash Poms in the cricket) . Speedy recovery mate.

What about for those who wants to do some coding? I really want to do roms, but there are too many tutorials, so I don't really know where to begin. I've know some of C++. I guess that I need to learn some Java, right? Just tell me what knowledge are necessary to build a rom from sources? I really want to take part in porting GPE Rom to our devices.

its just the script you really need to understand.
the ROM tree like i've provided is just ripped straight from Sony sources. Not hard, just takes about 20 minutes.
The script is where the hard part comes. telling android to flash this and that, and have this partition for kernel, and recovery..
busybox and SU make is easy, but you still need to know how to execute commands in android/ linux.
ok, i'll bite
I've installed @dsixda's kitchen in my ~/dev dir, updated su,Supersu.apk and about to do busybox in the kitchen.
I've pulled apart @krabappel2548's omni rom and @hamdogg's rom to see how they are built, started playing with .290 and have inserted the duel recovery kernel from @ChillyChan
I might need a little help with the updater-script - will see how I get along...

Excellent... The update accept is the problem. My first attempt is in the cloud and I don't have access to download that amount of data. Buz days there are some errors, and he's having the same issues.
^^ busybox from the kitchen is one of the few things I couldn't get to work, it modifies the update script to make it work, but you'll need to review somebody elses rom's update script to get this to work.
Update script is where I struggle too btw.. I have been cutting and pasting from other roms update scripts to get it to work (incl. Z1 roms)
Good luck.
@hamdogg , would you like me to send @blueether a link to your dogg4 build?

Yeah sure. He can have a play with it. I'm away from my laptop for a while. Just me and the ultra. Well, and my wife..
Who wants to put money on me soft bricking my C6802?
^^ nah, dud roms just produce flashing errors more often than not.
Ensure you have an ext sd nandroid and can fastboot flash boot the @ChillyChan 290 kernel and recovery to restore said nandroid if required
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
yep have the 290 kernel ready and just completed a nandroid to the external sd card.
I'll have a look at dogg v4 first to see if I have really buggered up v0.1
The @Desperanto86 deodexed 257 rom also a good resource for checking for updater script clues
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
I'll see how this goes, just about to flash.
Most of the script looks good, not so sure on the final stages of setting up the /system...
---------- Post added at 04:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:56 PM ----------
...
Not bricked, but no go on the flash either: "Status 0", back to the kitchen I guess...
---------- Post added at 04:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:15 PM ----------
got further that time: "Status 7" and a bootloop after about 30 seconds
---------- Post added at 05:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:34 PM ----------
Soft bricked on third attempt... flashed dual kernel and restore... now building v0.5
edit:
Soft bricked again, with red flashing LED this time, getting better each time. I think it's time to stop for the day...
Last Edit for the day, I promise:
flashed kernel-dual.img back on top and it booted fine. I lost root but that was no big deal, just reflashed SuperSU. deodexed, zipaligned, nothing else done yet. But it is still my first rom.

OK, looks like I didn't deodex the rom properly (if at all), and now that I have I'm getting FC in settings.app
Is there a good reason to go deodexed?
I can't get root to stick in the rom, it works if I use either of the two 4.3 methods by @ChillyChan and @jackie099. Is there something else I have to do...? I guess I'll have a go doing it like @handogg and follow ChainFire's update-binary script
^^ I have deodexed zipaligned version of dogg4 that errors at the end of the flashing process - I can share this with you on Jan 2nd when I'm back online. Yes it errors but deodexed /system/app and system/framework may be of some use to you.
Btw, android 4.3 is api 18 and the kitchen defaults to api 17 (4.2) when deodexing - updating the api number to 18 in the kitchen "may" fix your deodexing issues
Re: a good reason to deodex? Most mods require deodexed rom is my main reason

ROM OS Version: 4.4.x KitKat
Based On: Stock
Version Information
Status: New Beta Out by gogolie on June 6th cleaned up the port a bit and added new Toggles that are exclusive to the VZW Version (I couldn't get the domination toggles to work at all. theme'ing isnt my specialty)
Current Beta Version: v3.3
Beta Release Date: 2014-06-06
don't hold me or XDA or anyone that flashes or developers or Verizon responsible for anything bad that happens to your phone from here out.... ok u can try to hold verizon its kinda their fault anyway. but this ROM can't hurt you no Kernel is flashed and its verified Safestrap safe and MDK compatible. Works only with firmware 4.4.2 NC2 or NC5 your choice. BTW ALL KNOX HAS BEEN RIPPED FROM ORIGINAL ROM NOT A SINGLE KNOX FILE REMAINS SO IF YOU WANT KNOX FOR SOME REASON YOULL HAVE TO FLASH THE ORIGINAL WITH THIS DIRTY FLASHED OVER THE TOP!
UPDATED TO INCLUDE TOGGLES, PURPLE RAIN WALLPAPER, gogolie's SUPERROOT, WIFI MODULES, NEWEST VERSIONS OF ALL TW APPS, NEW DATA APPS, FULLY WORKING DOMINATION THEME 2.3... Only thing I haven't gotten FC free is the TW MMS VZW so for now choose either Darkened AOSP MMS or regular AOSP MMS from installer to avoid non working MMS.

LINK TO ORIGINAL ROM THREAD (Screenshots and descriptions for now until I have time to update this OP)
How to Install:
0. If you have 4.4.2 and Safestrap/TWRP already installed just flash the ROM no need to flash SuperSU (my superROOT script is included for SuperSU v2.01 thanks chainfire!) or flash modules just reset and expect ROOT and WIFI if on NCx bands!
1. Download the ROM [/COLOR] along with these files: SuperSu1.94, gogOdin3.10(the newest Odin brought to u by mua 1st, QuickUpgrade NC2 Safestrap (or other custom recovery) flashable file, NC2 WiFi Fix (only flash if broken wifi in ROM),NC2 Boot.img Only.tar Odin Flashable and pickup and install Safestrap 3.72 found in AT&T S4 thread.
2. Install your version of the ROM in Safestrap 3.72 under the Stock slot. This is a dirty Flash (no wipe) so you may need to wipe the System 1st. After installing the ROM flash the NC2 QuickUpgrade then the NC2 WiFi Fix the SuperSu194 zip then (you can link the installs together so SS flashes all 4 at once.) Now instead of normal resetting go to "Reboot" under main menu of Safestrap. Choose Download Mode (or just restart and hold Vol-Down) when your into Download mode plug phone into the Computer and load up Odin 3.10 and insert the NC2 Boot img.tar into the AP slot and press Start.
3. Phone will restart, give it a minute or two if you don't hear music its not working perfectly. In this situation you'll need to download: NC2 Hlos/Modem and this NC2 Full Upgrade no Bootloaders.tar (both are flashable only in Odin 3.10) now restart phone to download mode again and flash these with the Full Upgrade in the AP slot and the hlos in the CP and press start. Phone will start once before entering Recovery automatically, don't panic completely normal its flashing the cache update now... Phone will restart automatically and now if you don't see the bootanimation or hear music you either need to start completely over. Sorry about the music if its not your personal preference I've got a tool that will easily modify bootanimations and music (along with a lot more) in the next week or so. Just putting on finishing touches to final version 1.0. I've probably flashed 30 ROMS this way and still have my KNOX intact and the same bootloaders I started with. So no worries about voiding warranty by triggering KNOX cause U WONT if DONE RIGHT!!!
4. Vote 5 Stars, Donate, Thank in person or give a +1 if you enjoy the ROM!!!
Thanks,
gogolie / gigilie

Stock email/Exchange App?
Installed as directed, and works well. But the stock message/email app is missing, which means I can't add an exchange account. I don't see anything about it in the Purified thread. Any ideas?

It does include it but when I selected it I still had TW toggles for some reason.
Is anyone else having issues with GPS while running this on NC5 ?

yeah I'll check into it. you won't be able to refer to the original thread as this is a different rom. and some of the theming done isnt supported by our nc5 files persay. looking into that too. i'll have toggles and stock message&email app missing figured out

FWIW, I flashed
gogolies-wififix-VZW-retail-NC5-w-modules-SS.zip which has the md5 checksum of 9375b5f9b937814ac5677c01d8437b20
I'll try flashing the file that you linked me to.

yes flash a KT kernel and your in business... at least i think. try and let me know, wont hurt anything. these SS compatible roms come without a boot.img so theoretically if you already have a custom boot installed you can just flash the rom and your good to go but most users say the KT kernel is the more capable for mdk
Just waiting for toggle to be fixed before I flash this let me know.
