I would like to have permission to post on developers forums - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Why can't i?

Only because people that weren't developers started making topic threads on the development forum. They thought doing the minimal 10 post would reduce it. And I don't think it really fixes the issue lol

Yes. Way too many trolls.

Also so noobs learn where and when to post by reading the forum rules, specifically 15.

10 Posts first....

Am I understanding this correctly? I need to post 10 times in General or Q/A before I can post in Development thread?
I don't have any Q/A posts to create other than this and I don't have any general questions.
All I wanted to do was post to a thread that the Kernel is running great and no issues so far.
The only question I have is the following:
Should I post then new posts that are useless to get my count up
or
Post back to this thread I created 10 times?
I am leaning toward the latter but before I do I want to make sure I do not get anyones panties in a bunch. If this is an issue I'll just leave it as is and stick to reading.
If you just wanted to thank the dev who made the kernel, you could always just click the thanks button.

From my understanding of this forum, this isn't like other forums where you would post all questions and comments that are related to development in the development section. Since this is xda-DEVELOPERS they seem to assume that all questions are going to be related to development.
So all regular comments go in the General section, and all Questions go in the Q&A section. I believe they want you to post in the dev section only if you are developing something (a kernal, a rom, a mod like CWM).
If you want to report success on a specific rom or kernel, couldn't you just hit "reply" in the thread for that kernel? That's what I usually do.
Also, this will probably keep you from getting griped at by lots and lots of wannabe moderators (in addition to the real moderators).
Yea I know how u feel I'm on number 4 I think so this will be 5 half way there.

What all are you looking to post in the Dev section anyways?

Just if I have a question I would like to post it there so I could be seen by people that are on those threads.

Questions belong in Q&A. Questions/problems on a specific ROM/KERNEL/MOD in the development forum belong in the thread related to what you have the question/problem with, not in a new topic. The development forum is for releases of stuff only, along with discussion in the same thread about said releases.
thanks for the clarification. one of these days i will get my 10 post in to thank all the hard working developers

Same here I was going to post in the developers kernel thread to provide feedback as it was new and they look for feedback.
This rule I can understand for new posts but for replying to existing posts I don't understand other than the fact you get a lot of people that post in wrong places all the time. However this will happen with this rule in place or not as they can reach ten posts pretty quickly.
Either way just found it an odd rule. Some forums do a "you must be a member for X days before you can post". This rule allows new members to do reading before they just start posting all over the joint. That one I understand.

Devs do check out the Q/A and general section too, so you dont have to post in their thread if you have a problem.
One good thing regarding the 10 post is that people wont post a thread with a question in the development section. A lot of people who accidentally post there says that their question has to do with development, and so they decided to post there instead of Q/A or general section. If people with a lot of posts still does this, by accident or not, imagine how much work mods will have to do if anyone can post there and is new to the forum.
Can someone help with root? I don't have PC but I have netbook with windows. 7starter will that get the job done I'm stuck in 2.1 still

Don't worry, this is my second post.

What do you want to post in the dev section?
It would probably be better of being posted here in Q&A anyway
It's really 10, but this is not always very clever, reading some posts from users having 100+ answers
Dont make a new thread in developer's section unless you have invented something. Questions to be asked either in a Rom's thread or here(Q&A) section.
Your answer is 10, but I guess you have cleared the barrier. ;-)

Stop posting questions in General Discussion

Seriously, it says it at the top of this subforum.
Go to Q&A

Lol. Seriously, you are fighting a losing battle.
If you can get folks to quit posting questions in "general", or better yet "development", I'll eat my hat.
Just saying.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
As frustrating as it is that people don't read and follow instructions, if everyone is banned, the forum goes away, which benefits no one.
Plus, I had to uninstall and reinstall the tapatalk app, in order for it to even show me the Q&A forum. Clearing cache and data wasn't doing it.
I'd say there is a better than average chance that people don't even see the Q&A, unless they've installed the app recently, or are accessing the site through a computer. Just something to consider.

Make post to tell people to stop making posts where said posts should not be made.

I have posted a sticky explaining not to post questions in the general section. So i dont think we need another. If you feel me thread does not explain properly, please PM me. DO NOT open threads spouting rules yourself, generally you will get a negative response.
Please use the report button to make a moderator aware a post is in the wrong section.

OT and other stuff

I have a question and/or a statement maybe, why does it always have to be so many off topic comments and such in almost all the topics in all the forums? Eg. In a topic about aokp people are talking about some other dev future rom and so on...

because ppl are natural spammers, then no one report those posts, and the mods can't go reading all posts/threads to keep the forum "clean"

This is very much true.
I've been a mod for 3 weeks now and I have spend countless hours deleting useless posts. I'm happy to do it when I have free time but when I don't, I need the Report System to indicate the problematic threads.
It is very important to use Report wisely. It will help all of us.

Is there any way to specifically password protect the process of install/uninstall rather then protecting each and every app that can perform such an operation

Please use a more descriptive thread title. Not only does it help forum users, it helps you get responses quicker.

I am closing this thread, because it is a duplicate of another thread already out there.
OP - in the future, please refrain from starting threads with titles like "help required", "software", and "underclocking". Read the forum rules, and understand how to make good posts in the future.
