UPDATE1/5/2013
I wont be able to upload them working with stock rom cause the apk is signed in a different manner than that of the usual one(all im saying is dont know how to mod stock rom)
Any suggestions or help to port this will be appreciated
It has been found that only mms.apk is working with stock sony based roms like kings rom ,infinity rom, etc
Most others working
ONLY WORKING WITH CM9!!!!
Tested working on Xperia U
P/Sola/GO users

All apps may not work with stock sony based ICS

Instructions
Download the "name".apk you wish to change
Open any file explorer with root and system files access (I use Es File explorer)
Navigate to /system/app
Rename "name".apk to "name".apk.bak
Now copy the sgs3 themed apk to /system/app/
Set permissions rw-r--r of it by long pressing on apk and selecting properties

Make a nandroid back before proceeding may cause bootloop
Try replacing SemcPhone.apk with phone .apk
Rename the phone.apk into SemcPhone.apk
Set permissions
Reboot

Do one thing
Try placing mms.apk, phone.apk, in the system/apps folder
Don't replace or delete anything else from system/apps
Set permissions rw-r--r--
reboot

You have to have a file explorer like root explorer.
Copy files to /system folder. Long click in each moved file, click permissions and a new screen will appear.
9 squares, 3x3.
Make them look like this:
X X -
X - -
X - -
Click Ok. Then move these files to /system/app folder and replace existing files.

I do it but now when i try to open phonebook it forcecloses
works fine on mine (62 fw green glow and the arc s home mod of vr5411's thanks doesnt bother me it running in bk ground all the while as im always on my fone generaly =)

Go to: Contacts->Filter->Contacts from phone->and select all contacts. I havent got this selected and i havent see contacts now is ok

How to Change the Dialer buttons I decompiled Almost every Single APK including these and all from ICS (Official), But i cannot Find these anyWhere, Any Idea of their Location
I saw a video made by Xperia developer from somewhere on YouTube, about what's the new features in Android 4.0 for the Xperia 2011 series. That video shows the new dialer functions.
There's something different compare to the screenshot in the thread, that in bottom tabs, the third tab is not the "favorite" , but the "groups". Inside this group tabs we can categorize contacts into different categories, like "family" ,"friends", and so on... also the " favorites" now placed in this third tab.
I'm sorry I don't have the screenshot. But I believe the video still on the YouTube. maybe you can start with the keyword "Android 4.0 for Xperia 2011", or try to open the Xperia developer channel.
I wish someone will able to port that new dialer for our gingerbread

Use ES file explorer and let it restart as your copying it worked fr me that way..since we dont a CWM the only way to use this mod is copy paste into respective folder...will make a CWM zip file once we get CWM

Did the same thing, got the same results. Maybe we're supposed to change the permissions beforehand and overwrite the original file? I tried renaming the original which probably caused the bootloop.
I cant try this right now, need my phone and am not near a computer so if anything goes wrong,am screwed for a little while. Ill try it later and report back

ya i have flashed the zip and done as said.....but still no success....btw what kernel r u using??? i am using kuro kernel

Just go to system/etc/permission
Then search r there XML files having beginning com.sonyericcson..........
If yes then go to framework
And look files with beginning com.sonyericcson. ......jar
If filed are present then the apps must work .......
If that files r not present, extract the zip and copy all files to appropriate place, change permission and reboot........
Then ok!!!!

every thing is present in their respective folders........Its strange y it does work in 1 hyperion8 and not on the other.............i know it shouldn't happen but thats wat is happening

Just enjoying and loving DARK themes, so I share with you this modded Honami(?) SemcPhone.apk by me.. Just a nooby...
As I can see all maybe that the themed DARK SemcPhone is not totally dark like this.

So here is the screenshots of my mod. Feel free to suggest what to change in this.
Installation: Just push to system/app with proper permission rw-r--r-- and reboot. For dark contacts copy also Phonebook.apk to system/app with proper permission.
This is been modded to disable data notifications, so just delete com.android.phone-res.apk from vendor/overlay.

Bro...tried ur modded work and i got a message "Unfortunately, contacts stopped working"...im on Ruchrah's ZUltra port. Just pushed back the Old apk's

I'm actually using the Z ulta port... Did u have the right permission? Did you delete the com.android.phone-res.apk from vendor/overlay?.. You can try wipe data of phone from apps/app/phone and reboot.

For the permission yes...im using FX with root...it automatically sets the permission of files copied on system directories.
However..did not do the deleting apk you mentioned. I'l try this later. Thanks for your response bro:thumbup:

No probs bro.. I did have any problems upon changing my SemcPhone.apk. If still not work, try to wipe cache and dalvik on recovery...

What ROM are you using bro?... Better have back-up and reflash the ROM. Just restore your data using Titaniumback-up.

For now...i'm on HonamiUltralized rom...just want to.experience custom rom from previous stock. I was on stock when tried installing your mod. Need not to worry coz i backup the original Phonebook and phone apks. I dont know whats wrong...my last option will be reflashing AGAIN to .257 then root and update to .254 and reinstall my previous mods. The stock i used causes some games and apps to force close...abnormally

the trick is to add these line in the build prop.
dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=v=n,o=v,m=y
dalvik.vm.verify-bytecode=false
trust me it will work...
