No i m asking about CPU (Central Processing Unit)

You can install Unix on s3 and you can plug it to a monitor. It would be similar to a PC environment. Check tutorials on installing Unix.

It was simply unusable. The only solution was restarting. Even after a factory reset wasn't helpfull. Now I have a new device. Until now all is ok. Fingers crossed!

Well you dropped it... so I don't know what kind of damage phone has... is there any visible damage to the phone? How high was the drop? Try factory reset in settings....

If you're sure that this stopped working after mobile fall, i suggest you to carry mobile to SE support hardware
If you wanna try by yourself (i do not recommend) try to do it manually with this guide
Else, as a last way but i think that will not work, is to flash another kernel an install a custom rom
Your touchscreen is buggered mate
Need to buy a new front panel for your phone
Whole new front is easier to install than just the touchscreen itself as they're easy to break

One thing
Follow a video tutorial from youtube for fitting
Be extremely careful with ISO connectors as they can be broken
I broke my LCD while changing my digitizer
So my boss fitted it properly

Xperia Sola Anyway to connect through USB port not WiFi??

Xperia Sola Anyway to connect through USB port not WiFi??
Of course there is, just use the cable provided with it
But jokes aside I was wondering the same thing sometime ago, mainly because I didn't have wifi installed, and from what I read it's quite complicated (or so I remember) and it's vastly easier just to buy a wifi access point then trying to set it up.

I can't say it'll be easy without a computer but if you use Mobile-Odin and flash this. It'll install SuperSU and ClockWorkMod but I'd recommend holding off until you have a computer (its just easier on a computer)
Also, you won't magically achieve 3g speeds on your phone if you root it.. You may want to research into that a bit more before you take this plunge unnecessarily.
Ok ill wait. I had a s2 that I rooted. Do u know how I can get 3g speeds. I have researched this and havnt found ne thing

Your phone supports 3g right out of the box.. Maybe your carrier has restricted your service to 2g or you don't have coverage in your area.
No, you can`t root your phone from the phone afaik and Mobile Odin needs root before you can use it

Yes, you can, read my reply
Of course the device needs to be rooted for Mobile Odin to work. Quote from the dev:
"Your device must be rooted to be able to use Mobile ODIN"
Otherwise it would mean that ANY app can simply overwrite or rewrite your firmware which in itself would be a major security risk.

That's exactly the way I did it.
-Rooted with exynos abuse 1.40 (phone was on 4.1.1)
-installed mobile odin for flashing recovery and kernel
After that I could do everything out of CWM.
So my S3 never saw a pc

Does any one have a link to exynos? And I'm running stock 4.0.4 right now. Also I know unit really supposed to ask and is your own preference but I'm just curious what are the more popular stable roms out there. I like themes a lot lol. But I want one that has decent battery stats and can boost my Internet speed. I know that's possible bc a guy at a phone store had his rooted and on cincinnati bell and he had a lot my options than me.

[Q] QPST - No phone?

Hey guys
I know how much it annoys you when people ask stuff without searching first, so I'll start by saying that I have been searching a long time for this information.
How can I get my International i9300 to show up in the ports section of device manager? QPST can't 'see' it if I put it in download mode, even though it shows up under the modem section of device manager as COM4. I've downloaded USB virtual COM port drivers, but I don't know how to configure them correctly so my i9300 recognizes them.
Can anyone help?
QPST but that if i am not mistaken is not for your I9300 phone .
As i have never used it i may be wrong but understood it was for Qualcom only .

Like a lot of other people, I have messed around with the EFS folder and now have a generic IMEI (yes, I know - very noob mistake). I didn't make a backup (noob mistake 2), but have heard you can use a combination of SGS3-IMEI-NV-Gen.exe and NV-items Reader-Writer or QPST to inject it back onto the phone. The only issue is I can't get my phone to be recognised as a port. Therefore the reader or QPST won't acknowledge my phone. I am currently downloading the XXEMG4 rom mentioned in your thread (thanks) as well. Basically I am trying everything I can to avoid sending my phone back to Samsung, as I have a cracked screen as well but can't afford to pay for it to be repaired.
Is there anything else I can try?

I'll use that as a last resort, but is there no way of having my phone recognised as a port in device manager? Can I use a USB virtual com port? If so, how can I configure it so my phone is 'seen' as a port?
