Dude you asked the same question thrice, just differently worded. For god's sake.
Read up on porting ROMs if you want to know how a ROM for one device is made to work on another. It usually requires a device specific kernel that's made to be compatible with the other device's ROM, and then there's resizing work to be done for all the apps if the other device's screen is of a larger resolution.
Judging by your questions, it's obvious you don't have any developer knowledge, and porting requires quite a bit of it. So, for the last time, NO you can't do whatever you're asking.

same specs device
hi,
i have a similar question but for an identical hardware phones.
my device is with mt6577 cpu (neo n002), and running ICS i searched for a JB rom but didn't find one.
there are other devices with that chipset even same ram (size), screen resolution, maybe same camera, so i wonder if i can port
the JB rom to my device or even install the rom as it is?
if so, can i keep specific drivers from the ICS version, in case i get a problem with gps/camera/mic.....?
thanx.

[Q] just question

why we can't flash galaxy S4 software on Galaxy S3? I mean the official rom , and why the odin refuses the rom when I try to flash it? I know because the software is working only on S4 because the hardware like installing apple mac on PC but is their any way to make odin pass the software to S3?
I think that there's no way you can flash gs4 rom on gs3...you can only brick your phone like that.
Why don't you just root your phone and flash any custom gs4 like rom?

because I want to get the new S4 features like smart scroll , smart pause ... etc
Glamour S4 rom developer ported all the S4 smart features in his rom but nothing working yet and he said all that features will work in another fix , so why till now the S4 features don't work on S3?
That will never work because they are 2 different devices. It will lead to an expensive paperweight. Some features will come to the S3 in future updates. Some will not for two reasons. The S3s hardware doesn't support the feature (ex. Temperature sensors) or because Samsung is beginning to move on from the S3

For the same reason you cant flash the HTC one os on your s3. Its a different device with different hardware, ergo different drivers.
If they kept the same hardware, it wouldn't be an upgrade

You have a Developer Edition S4, you can flash just about any ROM you want on it...it has an unlocked bootloader. Not sure what recovery you have, but you'll need a custom recovery like TWRP (I recommend 2.5.0.2) or PhilZ. Either one of those can be found in this forum. The one thing you don't want to do is take an Over The Air Update from Verizon...or anywhere else for that matter. Your in good shape for flashing just about anything as long as you don't change/replace your bootloader. I haven't seen any ROMs on this forum that touches the bootloader. There are a number of good ROMs available. Just follow the Developer's installation instructions. If you're looking for a really good TW ROM I recommend trying Eclipse 3.0.

Here is a good thread for you to read. It probably answers a lot of your questions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578569
Just keep in mind there is no factory image for the dev edition Gs4, (each developer edition device supposedly has a slightly different aboot) this is why no ota updates from big red.
I dont know how to do it but get some advice on how to back up your factory firmware before going to far. If this is even possible without a custom recovery????
Don't make the mistake I made and get a soft brick and have to flash a consumer version of mdk. My bootloader is now locked but at least I am still mdk with custom recovery and flashing capability.

[Q] Difference between Galaxy S3 Neo and a normal S3

Hello,
what's the difference between these 2 phones? And can I install a ROM for the normal S3 to the "Neo" one?
Well dude I dont think that there may be very big different in s3 normal and s3 neo.
may be some functionality different or something like that.
You can easily compare both phone on gsmarena[dot]com.
I thing No, You can't flash custom roms of different model as by doing that may brick your phone.
Every phone has a model No. like s3 normal is GT-I9300 .
so you should download and flash for that specific model only other may might loose your phone.
Press THANKS if I helped you.
Different processors and neo has extra 512mb of RAM. And that's just for starters.

Nope you can't. First we need custom recovery. I think however latest stock rom from samsung, is really good ! Be sure to not update, but keep what version of android you find when buying the phone otherwise you can't root.

You are in the correct forums. Yay. Last stock for this device was 4.1.2 Jellybean. However there is a bazillion custom Roms that have been developed for this device up to and surpassing this version. Every individual phone behaves slightly different...keep this in mind. There were Telus, Bell wireless, Rogers and AT&T versions of original firmware available on this phone, possibly others. Most customs will likely work though. There are different methods which can be found in these forums of rooting your device and installing a custom recovery with which you can flash custom Roms. Have fun. Read lots and Google is your best friend. The community here can also be very helpful.

Your status 7 on gapps means you were using an outdated recovery. This may very well have been your issue. Though you switched to new cwm, you could have upgraded your twrp to gimmeitorilltell's 2.8.0.0 and you likely would have had no problem.

Absolutely not. I just read the info at the link too and it says nothing about using that for any non Nexus device.

It does say any phone read the second paragraph
"Flashing an Android image is super easy, especially on a Nexus device. You can use this tutorial for installing the image on your Nexus or for flashing any other image on any other phone."
Yes, but not the Nexus imgs on any other phone. They have to be specific to the phone. Also, that's still not even close to correct. Most manufacturers have their own way to restore or update the phone and many use different formats that are not compatible with other types of phones. Samsung does not even have a fastboot mode, so obviously there would be no way to use that guide or anything similar to do that.

While it does say flashing an Android image is easy, that applies mostly to Nexus devices. For other devices like Sony, Samsung etc they have a specific version of Android that must be flashed with the brand of phone to make it work. For example:
Samsung - TouchWiz
HTC - Sense
Xiaomi - MIUI

That's the reason why ROM ports exist. Using the manufacturer ROM as a base ROM you're able to port ROMs from different manufacturers to your device provided you know how and what you're doing.

AOSP ports are not built upon manufacturer roms. They use vendor blobs, but that's it.

No this is not true. Each device needs a kernel built by the OEM for the device.
The nexus devices use a majority of opensource software as to where the s4 doesnt.
The best you will find is a buggy port in about 6 months or so and that is even if someone can hack together a working kernel.
