I guess it's late because they wanted to fix the ExynosAbuse exploit, possibly along with some other small bugs. Keep in mind that the later it comes, the better it will be. This is especially important since 4.1 is probably the last update we'll get.

True that !!

I just realized I dreamt about an app trying to abuse root without permission.
Man I gotta get off xda for a while
Let me know when official JB starts rolling.

More to the point, who honestly cares ? What enormous technological advances are you expecting with a mid-level upgrade to a phone OS; turning a dual core phone into a 24 core phone ?
And they say Apple fanboy are bad.

Where CM9 is almost ready for SGS & SG Nexus S 2 but we haven't any ICS Port yet! Our phone is one of the most powerful among the market..So why not anyone come forward?
Being a Tegra2 device we need some support from the manufacturer. Good luck with that one, it'll be a long wait.

I'm just wondering. Does ICS for the XOOM count as support from the manufacturer.
Nvidia says theyre finally going to help us, only a matter of time before official CyanogenMod support, says Ricardo.

The last time someone said this, someone actually said yes! The response to that was... don't bother. You need experience and knowledge.

XOOM is an official Google device.
SO you can understand it as support from Google.

True, ICS is brilliant on custom ROMs, but how is it on stock? She's kinda phone illiterate, so is it worth it?

GB touchwizz and ICS touchwizz is practically the same..
The only big differences you'll see is the system menu and the multitasking menu (long pressing the home button).
Soo yea.. why not

ICS feels smoother overall, for example moving from one screen to another doesn't "jerk" as much even when a conservative governor is used.
There are a few things I don't like, but I don't regret the upgrade (on rooted stock, doesn't feel the need for custom).

You're welcome. In future just press the thanks button, that's what it's there for.

cross that bridge when we come to it?
for me, I know will just be flashing a ROM that already has root on it.
I am on CheckROM, probably stays on CheckROM.

cf-root works like charm in leaked jelly bean update... chainfire himself has tested this first hand and had given confirmation.
well this may or may not change in the official update. i.e., Samsung may put in some other security features to prevent hacks.. but still it's very less likely.
Not usual to test the future in advance .

Install windows 8 on Samsung galaxy II

Hi there,
Is it possible to install windows 8 on Samsung galaxy II?
After trying Android for the past 3 months I can surly say that it is not such good OS.
It’s full of bugs and keeps crashes all the time.
If it is not possible to install windows 8 on it will it be possible to install Symbian instead…
Regards,
Sep
Epic first post, looking forward to more from you.
No.

At least it`s not possible now. If you want Windows 8, sell your device and buy a Windows Phone.
For me it`s the other way around, I think that Windows 8 is pretty ugly compared to Android. And Android doesn`t crash all the time, at least not on my device.

Even if it could happen, OP, it wouldn't work nearly as well as the Android OS you're trying to get rid of.

Just Got Notification for an (JB?) Update

Could it be Jellybean? I just got notification of an update that is 336 MB. I would have to assume that an update that large would be another whole version. Right? Anyone else get anything?
You and me both my friend. I'm rooted and unlocked though

In order to close thread hit the report icon and request it there. Mods are usually very busy and do not have time to read every post in every thread that they moderate.
Not true. Some mods have more time than they know what to do with. You can find plenty example of mods over-reaching their power. Apparently, some mods DO read everything AND more.
