Flash CF-Root
AND NEVER TOUCH ROM MANAGER EVER AGAIN
yes, re-flash the ROM/firmware may solve that problem.
I also have bad experience using the 'fix permission' thing. I did 'fix permission' from CWM recovery. Although CWM said it success to fix the permission, but then make all application FC. Then I re-flash the ROM.
Iam a noob can you please tell me how to reflash

Galaxy Ace have separate boot and recovery partition. So, to flash the recovery partition flash_image binary or write-raw-image command have to use "recoveryonly" switch.

[Q] Trying to get Clockwork recovery on 2.3.6

Okay hello everyone im new on this forum as well as +1000 users so its ok if you hate me, well aside from that i own a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 with android 2.3.6, the problem is that i dont have clockwork recovery, i tried to flash it from rom manager but it didn´t work, so i searched in the web and i found this video:
youtube /watch?v=ByZ2okDu3CI
Everything went fine until the Odin part, i have Kies installed with drivers and everything but in the video it says i need COM18 and i get COM6, what i want is to get Clockwork so i can get started on this flashing scene and that stuff because i like to experiment and im a curious person, but as i dont know alot about Odin and i dont want to brick my phone im asking for your help, thanks for reading this far and i hope you can help me, and sorry if this has been asked before, i searched in the forums and i didnt find this problem
check the CF-root link from my signature and select appropiate CF-root kernel for your Firmware, and flash from Odin.
Dowload mod and Odin flashing guides also there in links

@ZACQ8,
I rooted my son's S2 using this method -> http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s2-newworks-on-all-galaxy-s2-variants/ and now need to install CWM. Was thinking of "touch", but don't know how.
Went to the CF-root link in your signature but not sure which one to choose ... my firmware before the root was 2.3.6, but has now gone to 2.3.5 and the base band is XXKI4. Can you suggest the exact file I should download? Can you also tell me if the touch version is available?
Thanks,

Umm on Existenz 1.0.0 this doesn't work and stays stuck on Sony Logo then after sometime goes back to rebooting normally?
Please help guys I want to flash 1.37 OTA update
After installing the experinz ROM you need to flash the NUT rebootmod that was posted in the op of rom.
I had issues with this 2nd time around. Try installing busy box then install into system then flash again even (after 2-3 try it should stick)

Solved : Deamon not running error in Xperia SP
some one got an error like "deamon not running" error for xperia sp, especially in 64 bit computers. I found one solution
just download the attachment from my post and follow the steps
1. Extract the file to adb folder in CWM 6.0.3.0 For Locked Bootloader ( replace the old adb file )
2. click install.bat
note: I'm not modifying any of your work. this is the latest adb file works with 64bit computers also. I dnt know any one else found it or need it. its works for me.....
Thanks

Welcome new XDA user,
Right now, you have stock recovery and with stock recovery, you won't be able to flash anything.
In order to flash a different rom, you first need to flash a different kernel or recovery using ODIN.
You can flash a kernel like DorimanX or Gustavo Kernel which contains CWM recovery. From there, you will be able to flash ROMs like normal. You require the .tar kernel files to flash via ODIN. Kitkat or Lollipop kernels will work fine and should allow you to flash most zips. Apolo kernel will also do fine too.

Did you make sure your phone was in download mode (volume down + home button + power key) when using ODIN? Rom manager is an old application and shouldn't work on CM13. Instead, the app flashify should work better, that's if root is enabled of course (development settings, enable root for apps).
regards, gsstudios
To add to what @gsstudios has said.....
I seem to remember reading that rom manager breaks things on the S2.....specifically I recall it being mentioned that it breaks recovery mode....
Probably best not to use it as if it hasn't broken things yet, it eventually will do.....
