[Request] AOSP Kernel - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Moderators,
Please forgive me if this post does not belong here.
First off thanks Adam Outler and team for the remarkable work on unlocking the verizon note 2!
Kernel Devs,
If any of you have the time I think i can speak for a lot of people when i say we would greatly appropriate an AOSP(CM10/10.1) kernel.
Again thanks and forgive me if this post does not or should not belong here.

Yeah an aosp kernel would be great. I would love some more aosp development. The devs we have now though are doing great work on aosp/cm10.

I've talked to k'toonz and he was trying to get a verizon note so he could port his aosp which was the best on the gs3 but he just can't get the funds. But when I talked to him it was right after Christmas and we had just had the donation for scrosler.

ROMS for N7000 on I7I7??

Do the roms that are built for the N7000 work for the SAMSUNG-SGH-I717?? I only ask because...
1.) The I7I7 has only one ROM available and its not ICS where as the N7000 has several ROMs available.
2.) I know its possible because I run Desire HD roms on my HTC Inspire.
Thanks for all the help guys.

why dont you give it a try and see if they work?
Sorry no the n7000 has a different SoC than the i717 trying to put one of those roms on this phone = brick.

Is there any other ROM that is available for the I7I7 than Saurom? Or is development still really early?
Sent from my HTC Inspire using xda premium
saurom is a great rom. I've had no issues with it. and my phones super quick and looks sexy. but its still too early right now. I'm sure in the coming months well see some new ones though
Development is just starting
CHILL!!!!!!!!!
I am so tired of these threads asking why only one rom or where are all the developers.
They have jobs and lives outside of xda and do mods in their spare time. Plus this phone is only a month old

I'm not demanding ROMs dude, I'm simply asking. I didn't seen any threads asking my specific question so I figure I'd ask. I understand they have lives, I'm just curious as to what's going on. No need for an abnormal use of exclamation points.

Apples and oranges. The Desire HD and Inspire 4G are basically the same phone. The hardware is the same except for some minor differences with the sound hardware. The international Note and ATT Note are completely different phones. The only thing they have in common is the size, screen, pen and they have similar cases. That's it. Everything else is different.

Absolutely questionable response and uncalled for...even suggesting that isnt humorous and maybe you should be concerned as to what people will perceive about you. Im just about sick and tired of all the rudeness and blatant self rightgeousness on these forums, members need to show some self-respect by not being rude. This forum has some NEW RULES as the base subscriber is no longer DEVELOPMENT ONLY the majority of us are not developers...they have their own section for each device to which noobs are restricted and should be, so giving people and noobs a hard time for something posted in the GENERAL and Q&A sections is ridiculous, so maybe show a little restraint if you choose not to help and just move on without posting anything!
Listen, I know a lot of noobs and others make mistakes and dont follow the rules but why jump on them outside of the DEV's threads? If you do as a senior or junior member then you also are breaking the rules!
NEW Forum & Marketplace Rules;
2.3 Flaming: XDA was founded as a group of people sharing information about certain mobile phones. Sharing does not involve virtual yelling (flaming) it does involve working together to solve problems in an environment of mutual respect and understanding. Losing your temper and flaming another member, or group of members, is not acceptable behavior.
2.5 Courtesy towards other Members: Treat new members the way you would like to have been treated when you were a new member. When dealing with any member, provide them with guidance, advice and instruction when you can and always with respect and courtesy. Never post in a demanding, argumentative, disrespectful or self-righteous manner.
10. Help others if you can.
If you see posts from others where you can help out, please do. This place exists because people are helping each other, and even if you are relatively new to the matter, there's probably already quite a few people newer than you that would benefit from what you've learned. Don't be shy.

It also says USE THE SEARCH BUTTON because what you are asking might have been mentioned 100 times + the fact that there are two different forums for these 2 phones should tell one that these phones ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT!

I did search but was unlucky upon finding something. There are 2 forums for the Desire HD and for the HTC Inspire but the Inspire can ROM Desire HD ROMS so I wasn't sure. Better to ask than ruin a brand new 300 dollar phone....

Hola Galaxy Note devs!

Hey I come here from the Gnex sections. Recently I talked my brother into rooting his Note and so on, but hes a little bummed at the lack of any JB roms. I had posted something on the TeamBamf post about this here on Xda, and one of the devs said that if anyone wanted to try to get a working port of Bamf with JB, they should message him and see if its possible. They do not have a Note to work with so they "officially" dont do it.
Now im not sure what would all go into porting a rom from the CDMA Gnex to the GSM Note, but if anyone is interested send a message to Thatdudebutch from Teambamf.
hotwire has a cm10 kang readily accessible and is contributing to cm git i believe. And cyanogen and team are also actively working on it. JamieD also added PA to hotwires cm10 and its posted here.
I doubt this is the right forum for this to be posted in as well.

gunna do this for sh!tz n giggles LOL if its any good ill get ahold of them.
btw hes right wrong section to be posting this.
Dear Lord !!!:victory: i will pray nightly for this to come together !!:victory:
sorry about the wrong thread. Since its relating directly to a possible development I didnt see where else to put it, Guess I could have put it into general but how many rom devs browse there to even see it and isnt CM in preview stages atm for the note?
Also if a mod wants to move it by all means feel free. Guess I just dont want it to get lost in the shuffle and hope to see it come to some sort of fruition
Moved To General
You should be aware of the dev section rules, there the same as the Gnex. Dont post in the dev section unless it actually contains development, this clearly has no place there. Using the excuse that you want the attention of devs is not valid and goes against the rules. Maybe a fresh read of the stickies may help you out.

The Maclaw comeback thread!

A GREAT developer Maclaw left our forum due to some spiteful remarks about his dev'ing. This thread is for everyone who wants maclaw to come back and continue developing ROM's .Without maclaw there would be no cm9 on galaxy ace. Let us show him that there are more people who appreciate his work than he thinks.:thumbup:
And for haters: :banghead:Screw you.

What's the point of this thread? And,no you are wrong.Axel2033 is the man who brought CM9 to the Galaxy Ace,wayland continued it,he had to stop development at a time,so practically your facts are wrong,CM9 was always possible and was always developed on by great developers. And going by your join date,I don't expect you to understand
So let me get this straight, you want to bring back a person who left the forum for good, by creating a thread at that forum itself? I wonder what could go wrong
Double post-sorry....

anyway, its not like he work alone, he had his team woking along with him, so credit not just goes to him, but to his team too, which arent well known by the public because u worship him alone. u should worship his team members too.

I agree. Macław is a responsible person. If he decided to leave - let him leave.
I'm closing this thread. Just for safety.

[Q] Favorite Rom for Note 2?

Just got my note 2, and I am not sure what ROM to get for it. Does anyone have one to recommend that doesn't have many bugs or issues, or is worth it overall in the long run to get?

All ROMs are good and stable for the members that use them. You will need to read through the top ROMs in Development and decide what is right for you...no one can tell you what you need to run.

Everyone will give you a different answer based on their own wants and needs. Best thing to do is just dive in head first and see which you enjoy more. IMO out of the ROMs I have flashed I found myself sticking to BeansRom. Love myself some TW and this is coming from an ex Galaxy Nexus user.

I've tried them all and I keep coming back to CleanROM ACE. It's not even that I love it that much... it's more that there is at least one thing about all the others that I don't like.

We don't do the whole "what's the best_____" threads, unless it's "who's the best moderator" and well, we already know the answer to that (yours truly) so I'd probably close that one too.
Thanks
