Seriously i need help! Think its a kernel problem! - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Heya:laugh:, well ive flashed 2 Roms in the past 2 days and even soft bricked my phone (now fixed)
I installed another Rom today jellyblast 3.0.4 and it was working brilliantly but now my phone seems to go at a snails pace occasionally (sometimes it works perfectly) i mean even when im not doing anything and simple things like moving the status bar or switching screens on home page, and if i try to open anything when its like this is slllloooooooowwwsssss right down and i reboot my phone...
it was doing this on my other rom Razordriod and i thought it was because of this rom but now its doing it here
i have NO CUSTOM APPS installed as ive just flashed jellyblast yesterday and its lagging i mean WTF?
also what apps an i delete from jellyblast, the ones that arent needed...
and does anyone know why my phone literally pauses everything (it becomes so slow it might as well be paused)
im using a S5830I obvs
running jelly blast V-3.0.4 as stated above
and have Rafael baugis 2.6.35.7 Kernel installed from when i got Razordroid
I think its a problem with the kernel?
can anyone answer my question
WHY IS MY PHONNEE SLOOWWWWW

Getting serious!!!
My phone now takes ages to boot up, or do anything its getting quite serious i keep thinking its bricked and then 10 minutes later it responds
please someone!!! (Boot takes ages just sticks on rafael kernel image)

go back to stock rom and check !!

Yes i had this problem at a time and the only solution has been to reflash rafael kernel with his instructions.
Send from my s5830i thanks to Chuck Norris, hit thanks button !

[Q] Touchscreen Unresponsive

My SGS II is currently running on:
ROM: CheckROM RevoHD V4
Baseband: I9100XXKI4
Kernel: Dark Knight v2.5.2
Sometimes, the touch screen will no response to any touch. nothing happen no matter how hard i try to press the screen. but the buttons are all working fine.
the only way to get back to normal is i have to switch off the phone by taking out the battery, put it back and restart the phone. and i need to perform this a couple of time before the touch screen get back to normal.
any idea how to rectify this problem?
i already tried a different kernel but the problem still persist.
Sounds like you are having a SOD (Screen of death). Usually happens due to the CPU being overclocked or undervolted.
I would recommend checking with SetCPU or Voltage control apps if you are undervolted.
Another thing worth trying is to create a Nandroid backup of your ROM with CWM then trying to flash a different custom ROM (Hyperdroid, Villain or Foxhound Batista) to see if it persists.
You sometimes don't need to do a battery pull to reboot your phone. If you hold the power key for 10 seconds it will reboot from an SOD
PM me if you need any help
Go back to/reflash stock firmware & see if the problem persists. If it does, then it *might* be an issue with your screen/something else. If not, then it's clearly a rom/kernel issue.
Tq for your suggestion.
Before I flash a different ROM, how to reset the configuration of CPU?

Not sure what you mean by "reset the configuration of CPU" What exactly do you mean by that ?

What I meant was to ensure that the configuration is as per stock ROM.
Btw, I already flashed to the stock ROM, as suggested. Now, just wait and see.
Unfortunately, using the stock ROM, I lost the video feature of Google Talk. :-(
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
If you're running stock then you'll be unable to overclock/underclock, etc without root, so the CPU will run up to 1200mhz if that's what you mean ?
I've never used Google Talk (was one of the first things I froze when I rooted my phone), so I can't say how/why it doesn't work for you.
Re: whether you can reproduce the problems you were having with screen responsiveness, let us know after a day or so of running stock whether that issue has resolved itself. As mentioned previously, if not, then there's obviously something with your previous rom/kernel causing that. You could then ask the dev/users of either or both the rom or the kernel for advice about maybe fixing that problem when running same.

At first I was thinking of configuring the CPU as per stock ROM without flashing it.
But, on second thought, I think it's better to flash it to the stock ROM.
Unfortunately, I am not able to reproduce the error. So, need to monitor it for a few days.
Will update you on the outcome.
Thanks!

[Q] freezes on boot up

I just flashed "phone-bricker" ICS rom on my phone. I went to install the roms update, and when it restarted it froze on the first boot up screen.
I've tried to get to:
download mode
CWM
and normal restart
it always freezes on that screen
is there any way I can un-brick my phone?
Am i being trolled?
any power = not bricked

I just had the same problem with another ICS Rom. I ended up going to recovery and and wipe data/cache.
Pretty sure it's one of the apps that I downloaded since yesterday. Probably Antutu battery saver.
I appreciate all the hard work and sacrifice made by early adopters.
Anything that underclocks your device WILL cause it to crash - this is the case for all I9100 ICS kernels, stock or custom.
It almost surely applies to the I777 leak kernel too, since that build is an older codebase.

+1 Don't underclock I had my phone enter a sleep of death and then got really got while it was in my pocket. It then would freeze on boot until I wiped data.

[Q] Random reboots in Miracle V4?

Hi guys
I was using Miracle V4 for some weeks but now I switched to MIUI GB.
I flashed Miracle V4 on my gf's galaxy Ace. She loves it but there's a big problem.
Sometimes her Ace reboots - well, not, it doesn't reboot, it just get to the bootanim and then return to the desktop, without asking for a PIN or anything.
It's very ennoying. Do you have an idea about that? I tried to reflash, didn't worked.
She has a lot of games, maybe that's the cause of the problem?
Another rom could solve the problem?
Thanks !
This usually happens to me when I overclock my phone to an unstable frequency.
If its not overclocked try clearin ram.

Try flashing TheAceKernel BETA 4 Non OC. I used to have the same problem when using the kernel which is included in the package. Then I switched to OC version of TheAceKernel, I didn't OC but problem was still persist. So I switched to non OC TheAceKernel and the problem has gone!
Sent from my WAREZ impulses.
Have you partitioned the sd card?
I had the problem
If the sd card speed is not sufficient the phone will reboot

Just flashed it, waited for about 30mn and it just did the same. Wasn't OC'd at all...
Should I underclock?
That's really ennoying guys. What other CM-based rom should I try?
ive been with v4 for almost a month..but havent exprienced any random reboots..try doing a full clean flash..
full wipe then flash a fw package through odin and then flash any rom u like..kinda hussle..but works for me evrytime..

Ok guys, still experiencing the same problem, reflashed a stock rom via ODIN, formated SD card (class 4 actually) in FAT32, reflashed Miracle V4, restored some apps via TITANIUM Backup, waited for around 1h, was watching TV without touching the phone and... rebooted. Now it's stuck on bootanim, with or without SD card, still the same.
It did the same with Official CM7.2 (last nightly), with or without OC kernel.
I didn't overclocked at all.
Maybe an app is the cause of the problem?
Or maybe the gorvernor, SmartassV2, I really dont know.
Please heeelp
Hmmmm very strange the problem persists even after flashing via Odin
Check your apps and see delete some which you never use and error check sd card in computer ^sd card drive ^properties
Try to start from scratch
Flash your rom and personalize it manually like installing each app from market
Idk any other solution wait for a better one
EDIT : Does this happen to every rom?
If not then you might as well use a different one

It happened on 3 or 4 CM-based rom, now trying a stock one.
I'll try to reinstall everything from market and I'll see if it works.
Errors checked on SD card, nothing found.
Ah and, I restored from a backup of 05/05/12 via CWM, it seems to work now (FrozenAceTeam CM7), let's wait.
I deleted all useless apps and games. W8 and see...
Ok guys, now after formating SD, reflashing stock via Odin, reflashing Miracle V4, reinstalling everything manually, the problem persists. That's really ennoying.
It just happened twice right now. No new ideas?
EDIT : Something new! now it reboots, shows "process com.android.phone closed etc..." during a half a sec, and reboot again... What about it?
im using a few weeks and not have trouble its amazing rom

[Q] galaxy s2 won't start unless pluged in and stops randomly

Hi guys.kinda need advice. I had this s2 for 2 days, ran beautifully, benchmarks and all, gave it the works. I installed root and installed custom roms, everything went super. I was on Resurrection-remix_ics_V2.1_AOKP-B37-4.0.4 and installed SPB.Mobile.Shell.v3.5.3.Build.9885 and I was out with my daughter. I made some photos (by the way I applied the patch for the camera from resurrection) and at one time I was taking a photo and my phone turned off instantly.
after that i rebooted, it was ok, even the poto tat I made was saved but after a while when I tried to take another photo it turned off again, this time when I tried to reboot got stuck on resurrection logo. I turned it off and tried to flash the rom again on the spot.I must have had about 80% battery. Nothing. it started to turn of as soon as Samsung logo came on. Scince than I flashed about 8 times a few custom roms and 1 original for my country. I got it to turn on (today) but it turns on completely only if I keep it pluged in (comp. or wall socket) and if I try to run demanding applications it turns of. what could it be....a voltage problem of the batt, or cpu wise? I really need help. Thx If any additional info is required I will provide it.

[Q] Xperia Mini Constantly Rebooting

problem: my xperia mini constantly rebooting after flashing rom or kernel.. as well as after flashing stock GB and stock ICS... it will only be stable its boot if its connected to either usb or by charger... i encountered this lately.. i was using rage kernel since i unlocked my bootloader for 6months, 3 days ago i decided to try radeon kernel v1.0 at boom this problem occured.. i tried radeon kernel v2.0 still the same. i tried Lupus and i tried also going back to rage kernel but still same issue... last night i decided to downgrade to GB and going back again to ICS.. on stock GB as well as its stock kernel i still encountered random reboots on my phone likewise after upgrading to ICS. if im not mistaken i followed instructions carefully and i see to it that before flashing my phones battery is fully charged..
help...
here's my thought about it maybe because im using a windows 8 OS by flashing kernel... but then flash tool drivers was successfully installed
kernel tested:
rage kernel 3.2
Lupus ICS
Radeon versions
Rom tested:
serenity
octane
ultimate hd
flawless
real ics
here a clip similar to what im encountering http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhJhBGCdizc

maybe what u are encountering is a bootloop
It happens even with the best of us!!
try system and cachr wipe before instaliing kernels and roms.
first revert to a stock rom and then flash a custom rom.
if still doesnt work then remove ur battery for 5mins and let it cool then try flashing.
the next problem cud be hardware failure.
i once dropped my phone due to which it never enter into a bootanimation.Just the splash imge .
try the above steps 1st to make sure
