i want to remove the google search bar in ics 4.0.3 and use that space for apps or widgets so the phone will look bigger
i have zopo 300+ rooted

Only one way.. Use a custom launcher.. If you are running CM then the launcher has an option to disable the widget.
Disable it
Disable the widget
CyanogenMod Launcher that is the Trebuchet has the option to disable persistent Search Bar. But I don't think it could be done in AOSP based ICS phones which uses stock launcher. Custom Launchers like Apex, Nova etc. have the feature you're looking for.

Hi,
I would like to replace the stock drawer with an alternative drawer but at the same time I want to maintain touchwiz 4.0. Is there a way to get rid of the stock application drawer?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I use OPEN HOME from the Market (paid) and then use different Themes which are free, and for the lockscreen use lockbot (pro) gives my phone the IPhone lockscreen although you can choose different ones
If you just want to change the drawer maybe you might to have some knowledge of how to change them from withing and some DEV might assist you with that.
My suggestion would be try different launchers they are more fun and customisable although you loose abit of touchwiz

I would love to simply replace the contacts launcher with the browser one! I think I read the bottom panel is not customizable within TW4?

Look for "Alt Drawer" on here on Xda you can replace it on your home screen by using launchers like launcher pro or others to replace the original drawer on your dock, it maybe available on the market????

Currently only running a rooted device. I have the ICS Theme from the Android Market and have GO Launcher to use it. However I am experiencing a bit of lag and was therefore was thinking of another launcher?
Heard of a few but in peoples opinions which is the best?

Using GO Launcher myself.
It is also the one integrated on Hybrom.
Works great for me.
ADW launcher (the default Cyanogen launcher) has a lot of themes and there are launchers you can get that try to fully implement the ICS features in gingerbread, Phoenix launcher for example.
But it's getting to the point where you can safely take the plunge to unlock your bootloader and put on one of the 4.0 ROMs. I've been using MiniCMSandwich for a while and it seems it is even better (in terms of battery etc.) than Xperia gingerbread once it settles down.
There is also zeam launcher which is very light.Give it a try.
tried GO, ADW, TSF, SPB, ICS launcher, Nemus, Regina, but still STOCK home is the best for me...

I too use go launcher..the stock launcher makes the screen look small with icons on 4 sides
Then try the modified launcher without corners. It also has a 4*4 grid.

I am using Nova launcher Prime. I like to fully customize my home screen.
It has lots of options and themes and it's pretty fast. So how about you?

Solo Launcher. Its free and easy to customize. I wish there were more unread count options though and the unread count icon kind of sucks but all in all, I like it.
Stock launcher (with minor mods). It works great and hard to see much reason to install a third party launcher. .
The mods I made were aesthetic e.g. dumping the Accuweather widget, replaced some icons, like the ugly app drawer one, removed the home row icon labels and five icons, instead of four per row.

Hello! I have a problem with launchers non stock for my X829. I have EUI, not rooted device, and every launcher that I install I put it as the default launcher. When I lock my device and wait a few minutes, when I unlock it appears the multi task screen and I must to press two times home to go to the launcher. Did someone experience the same? How can I fix it? I tested Nova, Evie, Blackberry Launcher and now I'm with Fairphone 2 launcher

That problem has happened to me with several launchers. But with Nova Launcher all right, its only problem is that it does not let you put personal icons of the theme store, I am currently using Evie and it is the best one I have tried so far since you can configure it and adapt the custom icons.

Sometimes the homescreen fails to load. It just shows the wallpaper and status bar. Normally there are widgets and apps. Any idea why? I'm using Nova Launcher but on other phones it worked fine.

it's a weird bug with the pixel 6/Android 12 and third party launchers, I experience the same thing with Niagara launcher and have yet to find any solution to it
YES!! I thought I was the only one experiencing this. Also using Nova and 12L on Pixel 6.

Looking at your home screen and the notifications. It looks like you have a lot running tasks in the background.
Find out which app or mod is interfering with Nova.
I am using Nova with root and the basics, without issues.
I have the same issue in a ZTE Axon 40
Everytime I swipe up to go home, if I make a quick press after the swipe, the home screen goes blank nd I have to swipe up again to recover the icons and widgets
