Can I install cwm from RomToolBox Pro if I've rooted my VZW note 2 with exynos abuse? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I feel stupid for asking this but can I install cwm from RomToolBox Pro if I've rooted my VZW note 2 with exynos abuse exploit?

I believe you will need to unlock your bootloader first. I would go back to stock (if you already rooted) and the follow adam's instructions (run the casual exploit and flash the suckitverizon bootloader). You will have TWRP automatically at that point. I think from there you can flash CWM, but I would search that process out.

You have to be unlocked also in order to install CWM

Yes, be sure to unlock first or you will recieve the verizon yellow triangle of death and always make sure you have the stock restore file handy in case you have to odin back

Is it ok to root using this method if you just want wifi tether and freeze bloat? I dd try this and installed custom recovery. Not good, I flashed back to stock and was afraid to try again. Can someone post detailed how to safely use exynosabuse. Thanks.

Don't use CWM, it's not compatible with exFAT format for those 64 GB sd cards

I just unlocked and rooted my Note 2. I want to put CWM on it but didnt know how to put it over TWRP. So do I just go to the market, install CWM then go in the apo and flash it? Thanks.

Rooted, but can't boot back into Clockworkmod.

I rooted my Sprint GS3 using odin with no problems. Got a pass, rebooted, went into CWM ect....
But now I can't boot back into CWM. It goes straight to Stock recovery instead. The only way to get into CWM now is to use Rom manager to reboot into it. Has anyone had this issue? I want to install a rom, but don't want to do it if I can't boot into CWM manually.
Thanks!

Unlock bootloader

Im a new owner of the Note 2 and a new member to XDA. I have been doing a lot of reading over the last couple days regarding unlocking the bootloader, flashing CWM and rooting my phone. My question is, is there a certain order that this has to be done in. For example, the bootloader then the recovery or does it not matter

Hint: You can't load anything until you unlock the bootloader.

1.Flash revision3 via odin following the guide in its thread. (This will give you root)
2.Follow the bootloader unlock process in adam's guide from its thread (this will unlock your bootloader and unless hes changed it flash twrp a custom rocovery.)
Now you need to reboot into recovery and make a back up. To do this you need to go into recovery (twrp or clockwork mod). You can get to recovery by powering off the phone and holding volume-up+home+power. Now go to backup and back up. If you have an external sd I would recommend selecting the option to backup to it.
After that select a rom you want. If you want stock rooted you dont have to flash anything. Look in your app drawer if you see an app called supersu or super user you're rooted. If you want another rom follow these steps to flash it.
1. Read rom thread for known bugs so you know what youre getting into.
2. Download rom. DO NOT UNZIP.
3. Check md5 sum.
4. Move to external or internal sd where you can find it.
5. Boot into recovery.
6. Select install.
7 navigate to rom file.
8. Swipe to install. If it has aroma follow instructions if not wait for it to do its thing

It seems like CWM is the preferred recovery among most flashers and ROM developers. But I could be mistaken. Somewhere on xda or elsewhere I read a comparison of the 2.
Personal preference I used to use cwm but once I made the switch to twrp I did not look back. However some roms like cm10 say you must use cwm.
I used cwn on my nexus and twrp on my note 2. It seems if its touchwiz they recommend twrp if its aosp sourced they recommened cwm

Sorry if this was addressed elsewhere, but I did try to seek it out first. I am stock rooted (Exynos abuse method) and I have added in the all apps in multiscreen modification. Two questions:
1. From what I can tell, I do not need to flash revision3 first (since I am stock VRALJB rooted), just run the casual exploit and then flash suckitverizon, correct?
2. Does the add apps to multiview mod conflict in any way with unlocking the bootloader or flashing a new ROM?
I think I know the answer to both (yes and no respectively), but I like to measure twice and cut once. Thanks
Im not exactly sure. But in all honesty it would probably just be best to odin flash to stock and start over.

1. just did everything yesterday. i rooted with the exynos exploit but couldn't get odin to flash suck it verizon, so i rooted with casual, unlocked the bootloader with odin, which also installed twrp. i then hooked it up to my computer, copied clean rom to the sd card, and installed. no need to install revision if you don't want to. go straight to beans/cm10/PA/cleanrom or whatever else you want.
summary - root, unlock bootloader, install whatever rom you want. no need to install roms then overwrite those roms
2. if the rom is TW based, you can make any app multiview. beans and cleanrom come with the modification there already afaik. cm1-/aosp roms don't have it, as it's part of touchwiz
Followed the advice to flash back to bone stock, then unlocked the bootloader and flashed cleanrom. Piece of cake as advertised. Only hiccup was getting Odin to recognize my phone...had to start it a second time, but that was it. Thanks for the help.

Rooting doesn't give you the ability to flash ROMs, you have to have the bootloader unlocked and have a custom recovery such as twrp or cwm.
Thought you needed it unlocked to have a rom on it to start with. It has the cleanrom se1.5 on it now

Ok, you didn't say that you only said it was rooted.
What steps are you taking to flash a new ROM?
You said it fails, what's the failure?
Have you tried going into recovery mode? Turn off your phone, press and hold volume up+home button+and power button till u reach the boot animation then release the buttons. You will either be in cwm or twrp. If you reached this step, then you can flash a rom that is built for your specific note 2 version. From the recovery menus you can follow the necessary steps to install. Let us know what you see.
Ps make sure you do a back up just incase

To do this get GooManager from the Play Store, and follow the directions in the description. I believe you press menu and then install a script.

I'd clean the phone up and return it to stock. Start from there.
Also, are you using a custom recovery like twrp or cwm? also, is your BL unlocked?
More info is needed to assist you further, broseph.

Did you check the md5 and what ROM are you flashing?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
how does a person check the md5 and i have tried the beans11 and jedi10 and both have errors and fail
There is an option in TWRP that makes it look for an MD5 match... but unless you have the MD5 accessible to TWRP it will fail and not install.
Make sure the option is not checked when you go to flash.
To manually check the MD5 yourself to verify your downloads... you need an app on your PC that has the ability. Google will point you right.
Then to check the MD5, you have the app analyze the file and compare it to the MD5 provided in the ROM thread.
thanks unchecked the md5 stuff and it works thanks

[Q] Clockworkmod Touch 6.0.3.2 on the Verizon S4, did I mess up?

Could someone help me with this question?
I'm afraid to flash anything until I figure it out and I can't find a response regarding the Verizon S4 anywhere.
I rooted the S4 using the instructions on the site.
Followed all the instructions and flashed OuHS CWM Receovery with LOKI.
Everything has been perfect with the phone. I had ROM Manager running and it wanted to update my Recovery. So I let it update to Clockworkmod 6.0.3.2 Touch.
The recovery works fine, and I created a nandroid with no issues. But I keep reading that I must have a Recovery with LOKI to flash anything.
Does Clockworkmod Touch 6.0.3.2 have LOKI, or do I need to go back to OuHS CWM Recovery?
If so, what's the easiest way to do this since ROM Manager will only flash thier own Recovery.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
thx!

So leave Clockworkmod Touch 6.0.3.2?
I am o.k. to start flashing ROMs? Is my bootloader "unlocked" after the following the full root method on my MDK S4?
Thank you for the quick reply!
You can use cwm or twrp. I prefer cwm myself because ive been using it for so long. You cant restore backups on a different recovery tho so if you use twrp to make a backup you cant restore via cwm. The bootloader isnt actually unlocked on the standard phones, hence the need for the patched recoveries. Thats my understanding of it atleast. But using rom manager it flashes the patched recovery for you so youre good to go.

[Q] Verizon S4 Will Not Load Recover

Hey, sorry if this is already answered somewhere else, I have not been able to find an answer. I have a rooted Verizon Galaxy S4 with MJ7. Root seems to work fine. The problem is when I try to install CWM from Rom Manger it says it installs, but when I reboot into recovery it gets an error and default to the system recovery. If I try to install TWRM it bricks the phone and I have to reflash MJ7 from ODIN to get it back then have to reroot. Any thoughts on what I can do to get a custom recovery installed so I can load some custom ROMs?
