you can downgrade or upgrade to any android version if you have a proper CWM recovery. Just wipe data, cache and dalvic cache..Then install any compatible rom

done that doesn't work!
Does it start normally after you wipe after you flashed?
I would try to flash stock 2.3.5 GB or 4.0.3 ICS with stock recovery and the flash cf root with odin.
Try this and then try flashing some roms

[Q] Cynogenmod boot loop

I installed CM9 using clockworkmod and i got stuck in cynogenmod's boot loop, i am running Jelly bean 4.1.2
Try to format cache and dalvik cache
you are not running jellybean if you flashed CM9, because it's ICS.
Always do a factory reset when changing ROMs (wipe data).
And clearing the cache won't help, you have to wipe data

[Q] Downgrade from CM11 to Jelly bean 4.1.2

Hi guys im an xperia s LT26i user and i have an unlocked bootloader. Im currently running cm11 rom by raymanfx. The last time i tried to flash 4.1.2 rom i did NOT wipe system and i ended up getting a bootloop and soft brick. So if i am running cm11 and if i want to downgrade to 4.1.2 do i need to wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache? cache and dalvik is a must but if i wipe system and data will it work?
You should make a full wipe probably everytime you switch your ROM. So:
- factory reset
- wipe dalvik cache
- format system
So your entire system is clear and if this don't work flash latest Stock ROM first and then the ROM you'ld like to run on your phone

Ok so i formatted my whole phone with the suggestions you gave and when i flashed the existenz rom by niaboc79 which is the stock rom it says "E:Error executing updater binary" and "Error flashing zip" and im on TWRP Recovery mod version 2.6.3.0
Ok i fixed it i just had to flash doomlord kernel which gets me back to cwm then flashing again fixed the problem. Thanks alot for your help though it did help me at some stages.

How to downgrade from CM11 to CM10.2

Hi
I flashed CM11 on my rooted Samsung S3 LTE which was running stock 3.5. I am thinking of going down to CM10.2. (I hear it isn't as tough on the battery)
Do I just wipe cache and dalvik, factory reset, flash Rom and Gapps, wipe cache and dalvik and reboot or is it more complex.
Thanks in advance
Z
