Thanks to:
milaq - for the CWM Installer for Prada. I was basing on this recovery.
About SD-EXT support
I added support for sd-ext partition. For now only ext3 partition works. To use compatible with my recovery sd-ext parition I reccomend to partition sd card usung Advanced>Partition SD Card in my recovery. All data will be deleted! After this paritioning sd-ext works with my recovery and Link2SD. If you partition SD Card in recovery don't try to create swap partition, because we haven't got support for swap.
Changelog:
1.5.0.0
Support for Jellybean and other roms
1.4.0.0
Stable SD-EXT (ext3) support
Fixed ADB, now working correctly
Changed some text to make installer cleaner
1.3.1.0
Changes only to test version
SD-EXT support, but it is still in testing. See Notes above changelog, because sd-ext don't work in 100% (you must partition sd card with recovery)
1.3.0.0
All bugs fixed
Can't still mount Internal and External SD because can't mount in recovery through MTP, please copy files through adb or use this app to copy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1057059)
1.2.0.0
Fixed Internal SD
Some texts in apk changed
FAQ:
Q: How to install and use this?
A: Everything wrote in this theard.
Q: What is CWM?
A: Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/ClockworkMod_Recovery
Q: When I do Backup in CWM and check backup folder size i see size about 20 mb, my backup should be about 1 GB?
A: Don't worry. CWM since 6 version use diffrent backup format. CWM don't store everything in backup directory, It uses diffrent directories and backup structute. Everything is OK!
Q: I installed CWM and it don't boot.
A: Check if You propely installed this CWM, nad check if you propely boot to recovery. Maybe you tried to install other recovery? If It still doesn't work reflash firmware with KDZ (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344), and try to install on clean, rooted rom.

Any word on the 769?

I fixed not mounted internal sdcard! Now interanl sdcard works, but data must be mounted to internal sdcard work.

thanks so much, works perfectly on p760.
no need to keep pressing VOL -.:good:

New version with fixed Internal SD is here (updated theard). Internal SD won't be working in 100% (see "What isn't working), because internal sd is located in /data/media directory. Internal sd is on the same partition as data.

Should this work for 769? Ive bricked the phone once dont want to risk something and try again

Recovery not working:
"Error while restoring data!"
after restart - hangs on LG logo

Was this error when restoring data, system, cache, boot or recovery. I restored cache and there wasn't any error.
I know, unmount all partitions in mounts and stortage first before restore in recovery. For me works.
Wysyłane z mojego LG-P760 za pomocą Tapatalk 2

I made a backup, then reset the data, and choose Restore.

The phone not boot. Only LG logo runs in a circle.
Rescues: volume- + menu + power = reset
PS. Restored the phone, once again made a restore (with out wipe)
The result is the same - "Error while restoring /data!", and no boot.

Before restore go to Mounts and Stortage then Unmount data, next restore from backup without restart. I did that and It works.
I did version with fix, and fully working internal stortage (I must do only usb mount). You could install zips from internal sd!
EDIT: New version avilable

artas182 if for restore backup requires unmounted partition, this should be written in capital letters:
Before restore go to Mounts and Stortage then Unmount data or you will get a device that can not boot!. (I spent the whole day on restoring phone)
By the way, [RECOVERY] [P940] ClockworkMod Recovery + TeamWin Recovery for LG Prada 3.0 v1.0.1.0 runs fine on P765 without unmounting data

Works in p768?
Enviado desde mi LG-P768 usando Tapatalk 2

no recovery
i installed the recovery 2 times and tried everything to get into it, but it doesn't work.
the firmware is fresh flashed per kdz and rooted with "root_with_restore". the recovery installer says it is installed.
btw the leds on my lg l9 (german) didn't ever BLINK on boot, but turn and stay on the last 2 seconds of boot process.
when i then press vol_down, the phone goes into "safe mode". per rom manager, i can't boot into recovery, it boots
into a "fallen down android with excl. mark on opened stomach"^^
i wonder, if my phone does even HAVE any kind of (stock) recovery...and as it seems, THIS kind of recovery isn't
installed where it should usually be on other android devices (so that rom manager can find it).

Now you don't need need to umount data I fixed it in new version avialablr here. Everything works fine.
I don't tested it in P768 but It should work.
If recovery don't work you must do somerhing wrong. For 95 % of users it works. Maybe try to hard reset.

On my p765 now everything works fine
and restore is also working without unmounting data
thanks

The first version works very well on my phone (except the internal sd card), the lastest version doesn't start.. i see blinking leds, then I press volume- and I'm stuck on the LG logo.. Same thing if I reboot from the app.
Edit: It's working fine on my P760, thank you again!

Which format best for backup/restore - tar or blob?

The last version works fine on p760,dont need to press vol - or any button.

Installed in p768 and Works fine

[RECOVERY][5/6/11] ClockworkMod Recovery for X10mini / X8 - 3.2.0.0-r3

This is ClockworkMod Recovery (v.3.2.0.0) ported to work on X10mini / X10mini pro / X8
Introduction
ClockworkMod Recovery is the default recovery option by the CyanogenMod, it has several additional features over plain old xRecovery and uses Edify exclusively:
CyanogenMod said:
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
Click to collapse
Despite the non-support for Amend scripts, it's the future of Recoveries and cooks should get used to this kind of scripting when making their zips.
Update:
CWM 3.2.0.0-r3 introduces two new features that validate and restore the currently installed recovery and it's deps before reboot / shutdown. If the current recovery doesn't appear to be correct, it will prompt for a recovery restore option that at least guarantees that the phone can boot into recovery. This is NOT:
- a way to make any ROM that you installed boot
- an idiot proof mechanism (e.g. if you are prompted and omit restoring, you are on your own)
Features
ADB root shell
reboot system now
apply update from sdcard
wipe data / factory reset
wipe cache partition
install zip from sdcard
backup and restore
backup (also backs up ext partition and installed apps to sdcard)
restore (also restores ext partition and installed apps to sdcard)

Usage
When booting your phone and when the 'Sony Ericsson' letters appear, press and release continuously the 'back' button.
Once you are in the CW recovery, use the volume keys to navigate upwards / downwards, the 'home' or camera button key to select, the 'back' key to go back.
Requirements
Stock 2.1 ROM
Busybox from the market
Root
Installation
EITHER:
If you have xRecovery: Flash the CWM recovery Amend zip
OR:
If you have a previous version of CWM Recovery: Flash the CWM recovery Edify zip
OR:
If you don't have a recovery installed, using Root explorer: manually extract any of the above CWM recovery zips and copy the contents of the system folder (system/bin and system/xbin) to /system, then give 755 permissions to those files, especially to /system/bin/chargemon, or you'll get bootloop.
Notes to everyone
Do NOT use this recovery if you are not in Stock 2.1 firmware. If you have a custom ROM, your cook should incorporate this to his ROM first
Notes to Devs/Cooks
To incorporate this to your ROM, extend the chargemon file to contain the needed part required in order to boot your ROM, the rest of the files need no changes.
Switch to Edify when giving updates for your ROMs. Search xda and google for that, there are plenty of resources out there. E.g: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936175
Also use the attached update-binary which is modified and tested to work correctly with this recovery.

Nobody.... I have one question. Though my phone gets stuck up in SE screen the CWM recovery works fine and shows up on repeated pressing of back button. Now once you upload the rectified ".zip" file can I not reflash it with CWM recovery and boot my device normally instead of going through the entire process of updating through SEUS?
This seems great as with all your work. May I bother you enough to make it work with MiniCM6, as the one you posted effed up my cellphone?
Keep up the great work, nAa

Hi,
This thread is for Stock 2.1 ROMs only.
At the state you are, you need to reflash with SEUS and restore with xrecovery.
Good Thing I reverted Back to 2.1 ..
One question, If we use xRec and Flash it, will xRec be removed?
Is backward compatible with xRecovery? I mean themes updates and Backups made for xRecovery will work?
Sent from my X10mini using XDA App
It replaced xRecovery.. No problems at all... Works great... Thanks dude..
When want to replace my recovery i get:
E:Can't chown/mod /system/bin/charger
(No such file or directory)
E:Failure at line 4:
set_perm 0 0 0755 SYSTEM:bin/charger
Edit: well it seemed like it worked, well recovery is orange now
Now it is stuck on SE screen, i dit revert back to stock 2.1
nobodyAtall please help
a couple of questions,
1. i did a backup with the new cwm so the old backups from xrecovery wont work so can i delete them?
and
what is key test?

Testing report: fix permissions IS working, as normal it take a while, exactly equal that on xRecovery, so test it again people who are having problems, will take about 2 mins, seems to be that clean battery status it's not working.. im doing tests

So I take it CWM still doesn't work with binary updates...
CWM doesn't support old update-scripts, I don't know which ones (amend or edify) - you have to convert them.
Xrecovery is using Amend script and CWM Recovery is using Edify script
Hi just want to ask for what we have xrecovery and cwm recovery? Its the same as i see

ClockworkMod recovery has a purpose of existence.
CM7 is build on Gingerbread sources so it is vital to use a common source based recovery.
Also edify scripting and the advanced syntax check that CWM performs, is by itself, a proof of superiority against xrecovery.
The correct order is think-search-discuss and NOT vice-versa.
Regards, D_d
But ill stay on xrecovery,i like it better.

yes, because almost all of those custom ROM for X8 now is using Amend script (update-script), and i think only miniCM that is using Edify script (updater-script).
you know, that CWM can backup EXT partition on your SD Card?
CWM and Xrecovery/FreeXperia Recovery is different, and you should have noticed it if you see the options on the screenshot
also, if you want to convert update-script to updater-script, you can use dsixda's kitchen, just search XDA, and its a very easy thing to do.
So, to understand, if i'm in stock 2.1 i can use this and flash whetever cyanogen rom-mod (as hackdroid) i want (if i use the amend one) or i can use it if i'm already in the hackdroid rom? thanks
So i cant try it on xgin 5.1 ??

This ROM broke my phone. I'm not even recover Brick via KDZ. I do not know what to do.
I use this ROM and have no problems. Have you done backup in cwm ?
Wysłane z mojego LG-D605
White how you install that rom on your mobile?
In this soft you have only kernel and system partition - hard brick is impossible.
Please explain how you hard brick your LG

One small advice regarding the updater script. Never use numeric device name (e.g. "/dev/block/mmcblk0p13"). In general this is safe but never assume that it is in each and every case.
Safe way of doing it is by using the /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/ path.
I need that for correct compile recovery from AOSPA - by-path are incompatible now (maybe in future someone add that?)
What do you mean by "incompatible"? By-name are simply symlinks and Linux should handle it. It should be enough to modify the updater script by hand and replace these paths with by-name ones.
android_build from AOSPA don't use by-name prefix in fstab and crash when I use that in soruces. But you have true - I change by-hand that in updater script. Thanks!
OK - changed rom is available to download from http://api.crxteam.info/pa/lg/d605/pa_d605-4.3-BETA7-20140531.zip

Can not install it.
Try it twice. Phone can't boot. I made all steps.
One notice
I could not restore the system to cm11 from my backup.
I restore it first with my stock kitkat backup and after restore the cm11.

- format /data and /data/media (/sdcard)
After I install the zip file
I can not see boot animation, only the first LG logo.
When formatting dalvik, I see message "E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]"
1. Make backup
2. Copy whole datas (internal and external sdcard )and backup to PC, format external sdcard in PC and copy rom inside
3. Install rom like up
4. After install rom format all sdcards again
5. Wait +- 3-5 min for first bootlogo
6. If you don't get it put sdcard to PC, copy your backup and finally restore him on CWM.
Please remember to download latest build!

Flash twrpimgmount_ramdisk.img through fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrpimgmount_ramdisk.img
Press and hole both volume + power on to boot to erecovery OR volume up + power on to boot to twrp (i don't know which combination is of which one) i suggest you to flash twrp to erecovery_ramdisk partition using twrp too.
Backup/restore and flash image functions are tested for system/vendor/product/version/cust/oeminfo/recovery/recovery2/boot rest of them are not tested by me but should work.
Note: It is suggested to make a complete backup in memory card before rooting your Honor 7x.

TWRP on my OREO Beta Not Detecting My Phone on Pc no Response Please Check Ur Recovery
Can I do this with the Bnd-L24 model that has the bootloader unlocked with TWRP installed?
Great bhai
I was able to get twrp booted, but had issues backing up system & data
its mentioned elsewhere, but i didn't see mentioned here. this twrp is unable to read the /sdcard partition (internal storage), so you have to use a microsd card (external_sdcard).
My Process: (BND-L24 USA Honor 7x Oreo)
in bootloader:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrpimgmount_ramdisk.img
then reboot phone into recovery by holding both volume buttens + power
(i guess the ramdisk is loaded instead of the stock recovery)
once in twrp, i backed up the MANY partitions to my microsd card.
the backup failed for 2 partitions:
1) Data
Code:
createTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255
2) System
failed at 87%, no error in the backup log, however the log was speckled with
Code:
unable to find partition for path '/system'
UPDATE: i was able to backup system using the file "complete_twrp_ramdisk.img" attached to this thread.
Other notes regarding this TWRP:
Computer doesn't see phone via USB
TWRP reports "no OS installed"
TWRP cannot read /sdcard (internal storage)
I look forward to trying future versions, and would be happy to help test things on my device if devs don't have this specific model.

Computer doesn't see phone via USB - Known bug
TWRP reports "no OS installed" - Intentional, it has to work like this.
TWRP cannot read /sdcard (internal storage) - Your internal sd is encrypted and this twrp has no decryption support

Hi, I'm glad to report that although the first recovery that is twrpimgmount_ramdisk.img failed to backup system as I got the same error message as above but I was able to flash some other partitions like kernel, recovery etc... I actually selected a bunch of them.
Anyway most importantly after flashing the complete_twrp_ramdisk.img, I was able to backup system successfully. I'm using the Indian variant BND AL10 MODEL. I hope this helps some one out there.
I have a dumb question: Now, that the system is backed up with twrp, if I mess up my phone ever, can I simply restore this system img and be able to boot back into the os? Do I need to install any other partitions? I don't care about data. Please let me know.
Hi, I flashed this complete_twrp_ramdisk.img and now I want to go back to stock recovery of oreo which is bnd_recovery_nocheck.img from the other post. I tried using adb and it fails. I tried using the this twrp but it shows a lot of partitions to choose from and I'm confused example: ramdisk recovery, recovery_vendor, recovery_ramdisk etc... there are sooooooo many. I tried recovery_vendor and also ramdisk but it doesn't work. Can you please tell me how to install the stock recovery?
Does anybody have a BND-L21 backup of the system partition?
Edit: nvm i found it
Can someone tell me how to install stock recovery after installing the above complete_twrp_ramdisk.img as I'm unable to flash using adb. I tried "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" and also "fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery.img" I tried flashing the BND_recovery_nocheck.img from the other post which is a stock one.
I also tried flashing it using this twrp to the partition recovery_ramdisk and gives the error saying "the size is larger than the device" Please someone help.
I have tried couple times to install new release

But I can only get to twrp splash screen.
OP change-log has no information about this new release, so maybe is still not ready.
telegram group has mention of this , but did not help Yet.
**EDIT**
It was suggested by DEV in telegram to just be patient and try again. This third time installed 4-7-2018 released version it loaded right into recovery, without any delay.
Don't know if it is coincidence or not but before I was on RRos ROM. and now I am back on EMUI 8
Well, the mess here you have gentlemen, nichrome you do not understand where the root for 7ku, where to 8ku, what tvrp to put for 8ki for everyday needs.

Which TWRP can I put in order to flush the root on the 8th oreo?
What TWRP should I be using on RROS Room? In order to install Magisk?
what are the 2 images with dates for? twrp_ramdisk_oreo_19-4-18.img and twrp_ramdisk_oreo_7-4-18.img?
i tried flashing both in twrp after using fastboot to flash the inistial ramdisk and neither one boot into recovery they get stuck at the twrp splash screen but the image labeled complete_twrp_ramdisk.img boots fine.

Afaik they are test builds (ports) of data decryption enabled twrp.
I had them working when on the Oreo beta but cannot get to work on RR or the new official Oreo.
