Some Comments from Users:
Code:
[B][U][COLOR=Red]MaartenXDA:[/COLOR][/U]
[/B][FONT=Comic Sans MS][SIZE=1]UMS Works on Windows (8) and Ubuntu, tested both.
ADB Works on Windows (8), didn't test Ubuntu.
Backing up works.
Seems to turn the screen off when doing nothing for 2/3 minutes, that's a feature right?
ROM flashing works. Mounting /system and /data works.
No graphic bugs, for as far as I've seen.
Didn't experience random reboots, but I might have been too impatient.
[COLOR=Blue][B]Every new function working,[/B][/COLOR] might have missed one or two.
Restoring works, md5 check doesn't fail.
[/SIZE][/FONT][U][COLOR=Red][B]vogonpoetlaureate:[/B][/COLOR][/U]
[FONT=Comic Sans MS][SIZE=1]Tested the following:
ADB,UMS,Wipe Cache,Wipe Dalvik,Wipe System,Factory Reset,Backup,Restore,Fix Permissions,Installed Various Zips (including some I know won't install),Install SuperSU,File Manager
[COLOR=Blue][B]All appear to be working fine. [/B][/COLOR][/SIZE][/FONT]
[COLOR=Red][U][B]Stereo8:[/B][/U][/COLOR]
[FONT=Comic Sans MS][SIZE=1]"Aroma file manager works fine, backup and restore is fine, screen dimming is fine, but the process bars are a bit misleading...
UMS, and adb in windows???? [COLOR=Blue][B]Perfect[/B] [/COLOR]without any special drivers, only HTC sync"[/SIZE][/FONT]

Have a go !!!

Finally... a fully working TWRP
Thanks Yasir.
Tested functions that I mostly use and yess... they are working fine, mount usb storage, backup & restore, install, wipe ... haha... almost perfect.
Just a tiny thing (not important to me), the progress windows has no text, only progress bar visible.
Thanks again for the good job

You have reported the bug. I have posted a possible solution. Whenever you reboot to this recovery, the automatic driver thats detected is not the USB Mass Storage, but if you unistall, refresh, and then select manual location for drivers and pick USB Mass Storage, it works properly.
Now i have spent 2 nights and 28 build attempts to fix the USB mount issue. It will be solved when it is solved. Please keep the thread dev related and try to post solutions rather then known issues. Or atleast post your recovery logs. I am not focusing on usb mount issue currently.

For skins, they work. In sdcard goto TWRP folder. Inside, create a folder "theme". Paste the downloaded theme file there and rename it to "ui.zip" and reboot to recovery.

[recovery] twrp 2.8 OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL

Team Win Recovery Project 2.8, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It’s a fully touch driven user interface – no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

I had the same issue and fixed it via adb sideload.
I have uploaded the latest binaries to my dev host account.
1. Download and extract these to a directory and copy the rom over into the same directory.
2. Boot up your phone into twrp recovery.
3. Select advanced and adbsideload (Your phone will be waiting for the file transfer.)
4. Open command prompt in the above directory you created with the binaries and rom.
5. Issue command "adb devices" (You should get the serial number with sideload next to it)
6. Finally issue command "adb sideload rom.zip" (rom.zip will be the name of your rom)
This will start sending your rom to the handset and will automatically install.
Hope the above helps

Wow. I didnt even see this. I couldve added it to my toolkit lol. ill wait til people say if it works and then ill add. Thanks Lloir!
if it work's i'll talk to dees_troy about making it official
So it's still untested? I would like to install it but I'm afraid it will brick my phone somehow..
Edit: Flashed it but I can't seem to browse through the sdcard, just the internal system (/sdcard vs /sdcard1) where the app/system etc. is located.

Just a few comments:
- can't mount SD Card in Recovery (or at least can't access to it)
- backup/nandroid is saved in (SDCard - DATA) / TWP
and not in (SDCard - DATA)/media, so can't access to the back-up

cant access it from TWRP? or? i cant test sdcard mount as linux is being a *****, but it looks like it mounts fine, i have a nandroid and i can see it to restore......
*edit*
nevermind see what you mean, i'll sort it for the next build
I can confirm that mount points are borked at the moment. While in recovery the sdcard can be found in /sdcard/media. Backing up seem to work ok but backups are insanely huge (6.6GB for a compressed backup!). This is probably because everything including the whole sdcard is backed up. While TWRP itself finds the backups just fine, when android is running they are located in /data/TWRP. I haven't tried to restore a backup yet.
I'm a little bit worried about what will happen later if I try to restore one of my backups that are made with the current TWRP version. Will the fixed version recognize and correct the mixed up mount points of the current version? If not, I can forget about all of my current backups .
---------- Post added at 01:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:10 PM ----------
Just two more minor details: Time and battery values displayed at the top of TWRP are wrong. The battery stays put at 66% and time is shifted by a couple of hours.
Thanks again for your work!

Welcome to CMB Roms- CM done Better... Dark Themed for his/her Pleasure
Why CMB?
We are just better , in a nutshell we set out to give you the best of CM, with none of the annoying features (see list below), all this wrapped in a custom black theme. We used the KISS principal when deciding what to offer, we based our frameworks on CM alone (not FrankFrameworks like some others out there), enabling us to provide updates and bug fixes as soon as CM does. This doesn't mean we are only relying on them for development, it just eases merging.
Features
Based on Android 4.3_r3.1, CM10.2
All current features CM10.2
Dark Holo Theme, with drawables from TeamBaked)
Dark Mms app (thanks to my mates at TeamBaked for the start)
Dark Calendar
Dark Contacts
Ramdisk security tweaks, you can adb as root now!
Bash "tab to complete" now works
Remount helper, in adb shell
Old
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
New
Code:
remount /system
Better Right??
We plan to add more features, suggestions are welcome (but sometimes ignored )

So far, restoring apps with titanium backup does not work with superuser. Which is a common thing under 4.3.
Installing superSU solved this problem. Might want to update the superuser binary.

Sorry for my imprecise english .Yes, the dock is recognized by the tablet (the SD Card put in the dock is recognized too) : everything is actually working fine with the dock except the usb port.
Here is what i'm calling a "usb key" that i put in the dock port and that is not working : http://www.pixmania.fr/cle-usb/cors...11985866-a.html#srcid=11275&nopopup=1&merch=1

Yes, it did recognised it with stock ROM. As a precision, my version wasn't exactly the one i put in my previous post : it is USB 2.0, not a 3.0 one.
So far so good, running fast
Dock functional keys - the only working are "Back", "Browse", "Volume down", "Volume up", "Lock", all others are not
Well, to be honest, the only thing that worries me is that I can't disable the touchapd, all the other keys have a replacement
And a question - I'm not a big fan of theme customization...is there a way to revert it back to stock? For example the Google Play app with the new custom dark background and white item cards looks a bit inconsistent
Anyway, so far loving the rom!

No worries on your English, we are all here to get the most out of our 201. I am looking into what maybe the problem with the dock. Its not so easy because you will see that CM, the ROM our ROM is based on only supports the 201 up to 10.1 and then they just stopped. will let you know what I find out...Thx as always lj

Yes!
also people reading the article on the portal, the tool does not use fast flash commands, it uses the dd method for those flashes, when i add kernel flashing and backing up your device as .img files then i will be adding fastboot flash commands, so yes, the flashes occur when your device is booted!
Can I ask what version of TWRP is installed, is it the latest?

i am almost finished updating the tool i will include it in the next update!! but you could more then likely find them in the general section!
ok cheers, no problem. Will wait for the new version to be up, no rush. Thanks for your commitment to provide a tool for us noobs/lazy people!
Would you recommend running your tool before first boot?
Just a few questions: when there is <waiting for device> for 5 minutes, that seems like my drivers are wrong? It was possible to unlock, but not to install a recovery, so i am trying to update my drivers...
And can i run the tool and select unlock, install recovery and root even when my device is already unlocked?

[TWRP][PORT] Holofied Themes 480x800

Want to port your own TWRP Theme?
So, if you don't know then I will share it here and inform the masses who read this .
I wrote two scripts, TWRPUI and TWRPIMAGE, that will port a TWRP theme from one resolution to another. I'm continuously looking for ways to improve it but for now it works VERY good.
It is best to grab a TWRP theme which is based on a higher resolution and port it to your lower resolution and for good reasons too. Enlarging the theme from a small resolution to a larger resolution could cause wear and tear on the theme by making it not appear as crisp and clean as it should.
Anyways, I will keep it short, but please note that GraphicsMagick is required in order to use TWRPIMAGE. I have compiled it for ARM devices and it can be found in my repo called, gm.
In addition, both scripts require the use of busybox.
Feel free to play around with it and if you come up with an idea for either of the scripts please feel free to share your insights with me.
Remember, the only stupid question or idea is the one which is not shared or expressed .
https://github.com/ModdingMyMind/TWRP_IMAGE_PORTER
A. To use the TWRP Theme:
You must go to /sdcard/TWRP on your device and create another folder named, theme.
Then take the zip and rename it to ui.zip.
Place the ui.zip inside of the theme folder.
Reboot in to your custom recovery and enjoy.
If you wish to not use it anymore, then just delete the zip file.
If you enjoy these themes, then a simple click on the thanks button will suffice. Please be sure to go and give thanks to the original author as well.
Credit goes to @z31s1g for the following themes. He has these available across many forums for many devices with close to or similar resolutions. You can check out his signature for further details. You can get a glimpse of his work here. The shared thread link for his themes are used as my base for porting them over from 720x1280 to 480x800.

Once I finish Light and XDA, there will be an update to all of them. The update will be specific to TWRP 2.7 due to new features that the TWRP offers within the ramdisk. Also added options and a different feel to them as well, thanks to z31s1g's hard work.

We don't have TWRP 2.7 yet, only TWRP 2.6.3.0 which is working for some people and 2.5.0.0 which is working for most people. So it would be great if the themes are compatible with that older versions as well.

Yeah, but those are unstable, built from an old abandoned tree.
Well, regardless of yalls current twrp issues, I plan to still share it, and when the time is ready, yall will be able to use them . Maybe, @xpirt, could take a closer look at the "abandoned tree"?
Sent from my C525c using Tapatalk
He's right:
- TeamWin's used tree: https://github.com/TeamWin/android_device_htc_protou/commits/master
- neXusPrime's updated tree: https://github.com/ProtoU/device_protou_recovery/commits/twrp2.7
There are some new fixes, cleanup and updates made. @neXus PRIME or others should tell TeamWin to update the tree to get latest version of TWRP.

I don't know much about those recovery but for example, I can see the recovery.fstab inside those recovery (e.g 2.5.0.0 & 2.7.0.1) is for ICS not JB.
As most of us are on JB, those recovery is no use for people with JB ROM.
2.7.0.1, ADB in recovery doesn't work .. even though it is easy to fix that, but I believe there are more issues other than wrong mountpoint and ADB.

Yea, I was looking at both githubs that xpirt shared in his previous post. Any reason why those mount points were erroneous and or if correct at that time, then changed later? Been reviewing the commits and scratching my head asking myself, "why do that", lol.
Sent from my C525c using Tapatalk
Were there changes made to yalls partitions and such when upgraded? I'm more in less just curious
The themes that I will be providing in the future which work mainly off of TWRP 2.7 should also work on 2.6 and 2.5, however, there will be missing features that will only be applicable for 2.7 and so therefore any previous versions won't exactly be able to use nor have the full experience. The current themes I am porting will work for you guys though without any issues and the updates I will be providing shall be kept separate within the OP and attachments. Whoever is yalls current/active recovery developer - contact him or her and have that person reach out to teamwin. Hopefully this can be resolved :-/. If I had this device I would assist but unfortunately, I do not.
Sent from my C525c using Tapatalk
Future ports are on hold right now. Currently putting themes on to my github so I can keep track of changes. The main hold up was due to me tracking down apps to use on my device so I may be able to work on these when not by my pc - which I finally found two of them. This will also allow me to make branches so I can leave the master project alone and if working properly then merge the branches later on. This will be extremey useful so I don't have to keep making backups upon backups on my pc which can be tedious and hard to keep track of.
Also, this will allow me to commit any changes so I may provide it here to the public to review for ease and comfort that those who do use the themes can know that such changes have been made, and as well, know that solutions to problems are being implemented.
With that said, I will be adding the current themes I have shared on this thread to my github and once everything is good, I will continue my work on porting these themes. I just need time to set up my "work station". Thanks and enjoy.

Sorry, been busy with working on some binaries, building a vrTheme, and also starting on a launcher APK theme.
I haven't abandoned this project, just got to fit it in to my free time lol.
Also, these themes will work just as long as your device resolution is 480x800. As for the curtain image. That is found within the actual TWRP recovery itself. Has nothing to do with the ui. In order to change the curtain you will need to unpack the ramdisk within your TWRP recovery and then replace the curtain. Afterwards, repack the TWRP recovery and flash to your recovery partition.

If anyone notices anything off with these themes please speak up about it so I can fix it really quick. I only have two eyes with a busy schedule .

I was just hoping you could port one for this resolution. I'll replace it in my Omni/TWRP repo so I have it going forward . If not, that's fine, but I figured I'd ask. If you need a copy of the jpg I can upload it for you.
