I will try it later today.
But what i do know is that normal usb cables don't work on the dock itself, so the inside of the cable is different.
You will hear from me tomorrow!

crunchie-uk: It works!

USB audio via this cable does NOT work for me without the dock. When the cable is plugged directly into the phone, it just plays through the speaker still. I am guessing the special circuitry in the dock that triggers the phone to go into vehicle mode also triggers it to output usb audio.

Does the Video Out Cable work connected to Charging Headset Adapter?

Hello,
I want to purchase accessories for my soon coming Touch Pro 2.
Wanted: A solution to use video out, charge the phone AND use 3.5mm handset at the same time.
The HTC OEM Charging Headset Adapter (SC5310) has 3.5mm, 2.5mm and Mini-USB Out.
Will the Video Out cable work from the mini-usb port on the charging adapter? Or can the charging adapter with headset and charger connected work through the mini-usb of the video cable that is directly connected to the phone?
Are there any other suggestions?
Thank you in advance!
You can try No2chem's nueTVOut app. Haven't gotten to work for me, but it may for you...

I just tried this for you and it works fine - Video out cable plugged directly into phone, headset and charger plugged into video out cable. Everything works
Got my video out cable from meritline, in case it matters.

car dock mode not launching

i jsut got the car dock and having some problems with it not launching the car docking mode on the phone. im running the homebase 4.2.0 with faux 0.2.3 kernal. i check Titianium backup and do have to cardock mode on there unfrozen. i tired plugging the dock with phone into the charger that came with the dock and still nothing. the reason why i want this is so that i can plug the 3.5mm jack into an fm transmitter which doesnt work if im using the charging/3.5mm cable that came with the dock. i still have to plug the 3.5mm cable directly into the phone to get sound out. can anyone help me with this?
I had the same issue till I exchanged my car dock.
The dock should launch the car mode with out any cables attached to it. Once car dock mode is working. The cable supplied with supply audio from the end with the 3.5mm on it. The phone routes audio over the usb in this mode.
you are right, the new one i got works perfectly. im guessing its a bad resistor in the dock. thanks.

Audio out through usb

Is there anyway to output audio through the usb port and into a set of ear buds? Like a micro usb to headphone jack adapter? I hate having the audio jack on top and would love to use the bottom usb port instead.
Bump
I dont know of a actual stand alone adapter for this, but, if you get a samsung car dock, infuse dock for example, the bottom piece should route the audio.
That piece of the dock plugs into the usb port and that piece has both 3.5mm aux and the usb so you still can charge. I havent tried, but a usb extension cable should allow it to still work without having to plug the bulky adapter directly into the phone.
Thats the only option ive found so far.
I would like to see this more often...Apple has so many great docks where you can charge your device while outputting audio. I wish Android had more support for this.

[Q]No USB Audio Out?

Do we not have audio out through the Micro USB port on this phone? I can't find a menu setting for it anywhere and searches here and on google didn't return anything helpful.
My car has the audio cable in the pic. It worked fine for my note 3.
Edit: the picture shows the end of the cable that connects to the head unit. The other end is standard Micro USB, just to be clear.
I have read for headphone jack to plug, unplug and plug in again. Maybe same for the USB option?

Yeah, I tried that. Luckily the headphone jack seems to work fine.

Headphones and charger splitter

I've read that some of the usb type C to 3.5 jack adapter are working now with a proper DAC, but I can't find a splitter that works for our HTC's or even for Pixel 2. People mention dongles made by certain companies, but I head to their websites and there's nothing available...
Can anyone help me find a viable splitter to charge and use headphones at the same time? I'm getting desperate, to be honest...
Thanks!
I have also tried several usb type c hubs but could not find one that works with htc headphones unfortunately.
I ended up buying an Bluetooth receiver to plug my headphones into when I need to charge too.
Not ideal but it works for me

Hey, that doesn't sound bad to me. I've never tried anything like that, though. Could you send me a link to your receiver or tell me any reference to start searching? Thanks in advance!

HIFI Bluetooth 4.1 Audio Transmitter & Receiver, Lenuo 2 in1 Wireless Music Adapter for TV / Home Stereo System Headphones Speakers MP3 / MP4 iPhone and More https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XRM8GXD/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_2ePXAbY8J5FFD
Look for a Bluetooth Receiver that supports wired headphones, i.e. it has a 3.5mm audio out socket.

Checking that out as we speak. Thanks mate!
Hi guys,
still trying to figure this out. I hope you can help me with this idea. All I want is charge and use headphones at the same time :
If I plug this hub (or similar one) to my U Ultra's usb port https://m.es.aliexpress.com/item/32846535696.html?trace=wwwdetail2mobilesitedetail&productId=32846535696&productSubject=USB-C-Hub-USB-C-HDMI-Ethernet-Adapter-for-Macbook-Pro-Thunderbolt-3-Type-C-Hub
And then use this adapter (with DAC integrated) into the usb c of the hub: https://m.es.aliexpress.com/item/32832480232.html.
Will it work? Or the DAC needs to be placed exactly in the usb out of the phone? I'd really appreciate the help.
For these hubs to provide charging you need to connect the charger in the type c port of the hub which is marked with the lightning sign. To connect the 3.5 mm adapter you will need another adapter from usb type a male to type c female. Such adapters exsist but when i tried to connect the htc type c headphones via the hub and such adapter they were simply not detected by the phone so i doubt that the 3.5mm adapter will also work in such configuration.

Thanks for the info, mate!
If I decided to go for Bluetooth earphones... Any will do, am I right? No DAC thing to be worried about, I guess...

That's it, exactly. Take any BT headset you like and can afford, they have the DAC already built in.
