(WIP)Deodexed stock ROM - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Currently working on deodexing stock ROM from P769BK if anyone is interested I can upload the ROM for future develp and theming.

That would be a great contribution for the community
Sent from my Lg Optimus L9 P769BK using xda-premium

having a little hiccup with the deodex program I am using though so it will be longer than expected. Was hoping to have it uploaded by now.

If the recovery consist a opinions to change the backup type back to tar, it would be much more easy. As tar consist img, can be extract by unyaffs, then just put the Rom into kitchen

Are you making a KDZ or bin/fls? If KDZ, can you share the steps involved in extracting the KDZ and re-creating it? It would be nice if the KDZ could be pre-rooted too.
Also we need a clean stock KDZ for un-bricking.

When i get home from work i will look into formatting a KDZ since we seriously need one for our phone i believe I have the LG tools still. And finish deodexing.

Wow this sounds great! I was just looking at the google now apk for ICS. Of course I had it when I was on jellybean on my other phone. I love this phone, I rooted it thanks to all of you guys, and I have CWM on it. Though it's broken down into two parts: 1)backup 2)blobs. Backup has a 27.5 MB file and Blobs has 1.35 GB. Thanks to artas182x for the CWM btw! I'm very nervous about trying to load the recovery since we don't ahve a KDZ for this phone so thanks a lot for your help!

Why people say there is no kdz for this device ? Of course there is, read the downgrade to 10a firmware guide and get the 10a or 10e firmware kdz from the sites mentioned there...

There is no KDZ for the Tmobile P769BK for the other variants yes but not this one.

What about V11a for P769? A Canadian Wind Mobile KDZ for P769 can be downloaded here
A user also confirms it worked for him in this post
I dont know it can be rooted or not as I dont own this and not tested, but official KDZ for P769 exists and at least UNBRICKING is possible on soft-bricked P769 phone.
At least, we can say, a Canadian phone is better than DEAD phone. Lolz

Yes the system is working, only the LG keyboard is freezing (force close) so I restored its apk and odex.
It seems that other apps are working. I followed this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1767392
Edit: the LG Keyboard app still doesn't work after restoring apk and odex and reboot. I will install another keyboard for now ..
And forgot to say that I was on stock rooted 10E.

I don't need to deodex the rom, I already done that following the tutorial on my previous post.
The only app that gives problem is the LG stock keyboard.
Boot time was reduced on my device

[REPOSITORY]P500/P509 Stock ROMs[.zip]

I think the title is pretty much self-explanatory, but let me explain the purpose of this thread.
Back when I first rooted my phone and flashed a custom rom, I made a backup of my stock rom (as recommended). Days and months began to pass by, and I decided that I would not need the back up anymore, so I deleted it. Bad move, because later on, I wanted to go back to stock, but that meant flashing the stock rom using KDZ. To this day, I've used KDZ only once, and I don't want to use it again. I decided to make and keep a backup of the stock rom just in case.
Recently, I've been thinking about making a thread, or a repository I should say, for all the stock roms out there, both froyo and gingerbread. That way, if we want to revert back to stock, we can just flash a zip.
Also, if you want to SIM unlock your phone, this is an alternative to using KDZ.
I can see how privacy may be an issue. However, I would like to say that these backups should be backups of a clean install. When I say that, I mean they should have been made right after you flash with KDZ so that the rom is clean. This way, privacy will not be an issue (the only items in my backup are: boot.img, /META-INF, /system, and installbusybox which I added myself due to problems with su).
Keep in mind that:
1) This thread will not help you if you cannot boot into recovery. That means that if you are stuck in fastboot, emergency mode, or the LG logo, I believe KDZ is the only option left.
2) Flashing these backups will not change your baseband. You need either KDZ or LGMDP for that.
3) These zips will not overwrite your current recovery.
There are two methods of obtaining this backup:
1. Use KDZ to flash the stock rom, and then make your own zip with /META-INF, /system, and boot.img.
2. Use this tutorial.
If you are interested, please PM or post the link to your backup and specify the language of the rom.

If your phone receives water damage, I believe it should be safe if you flash the stock backup, and then unroot your phone. Your method with KDZ works too (at least what I have read from others).

[Q] How to revert completely to stock?

I have the prepaid optimus l9 from T-Mobile, and have rooted it and deleted several of the bloatware apps. How can I return this phone to its out of the box state, as in unrooted and with bloat intact? I am not returning the phone, if that helps, but I am giving it to a parent, and want the OTA updates to work properly for them.

[Q] How do I unlock the bootloader? [read on]

The youtube video I found isn't thurrow enough for me to understand, if someone can either direct me to a much easier video to comprehend or in steps on this thread how to unlock it and then root the device itself. Thanks!
EDIT: I have a T-Mobile LG Optimus L9 P769 if that help's any. Thanks for any responses!
EDIT2: Also I tried this with my phone and all it does is reboot it, so at this point, I do not want to either soft brick my phone to the point of no return, or just break my phone. So any help would be nice, thanks once more!
~Joe
Whatever I give up on trying to unlock the bootloader on this, I'm not smart enough to follow any tutorials or anything, and no one is going to help me anyways, and all there going to say if someone DOES reply is "use the search" or this or that, whatever. I'll just leave it as stock and use the phone like it is.
Unlocking bootloader for P769 is hard. I assume the youtube video you mentioned is from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277639
This post is the most complete tutorial on the topic, and this is the only method that works so far. The method in your "Edit 2" only works for P760 (so it's bad it self-claims to work for all L9 variants). If you feel the youtube video is too hard for you to follow, giving up is not too bad.

[Q] Requesting Help With Bootlooping E970

Hey guys. I am not from around here. You will normally find me hanging out in the Nexus forums. I need some help trying to correct an issue my noob buddy caused on his E970. He brought it to me today in a boot loop and apparently he rooted it an uninstalled some GAPPS and now he has this security error and BL. Now, so far I have managed to install the drivers..... that's it. I have worked on a variety of different devices but I am really having trouble with this. I think the issue is I can not find a thread that is comprehensive enough to explain what alot of the different tools are and what they do. I mean there is
1. LGNPST
2. Teenybin
3. Freegee or something like that
Then there about 14 different file types depending on the tool you are using. I have seen;
1. dll
2. bin
3. kdz
4. tot
I have to be honest with you guys this is confusing as hell. I keep coming across dead links and old downloads and stuff that may not work. I REALLY don't like using stuff not linked from XDA as that is all I've known for many years (not to say other sites aren't reputable but you never know) I can follow instructions and figure out most stuff on my own but due to the in completion of alot of this stuff and dead links I am kinda stuck I am gonna give it another go tomorrow but in the meantime if someone wants to drop me a link or word of advice as to where to at least start it would be awesome. I am pretty handy generally with this kind of thing but I guess that goes to show you sometimes you are only as good as the tools and directions you are working with. Thanks XDA Community! :good:
Okay the first three.
3.lgnpst is the program you will need to use to fix the security error which was caused by removing bloat without unlocking bootloader.
2.teenybin is used with lgnpst to unlock bootloader, update partitions to jb, and install recovery. It doesn't install firmware but could be used to restore if a rom was copied to sd to flash.
3.freegee is used to unlock bootloader and install recovery on a working phone.
Next four.
1.dll are files needed by windows.
2.bin is the extension the file needs to be for using lgnpst.
3.kdz is stock firmware for use with lgflashtool (used mainly for international phones)
4.tot is the extension the stock firmware is released with which will be renamed to bin before using lgnpst.
In the additional info section of teenbin thread there is a click to show content button that will have have links and guide for lgnpst. Use the tSilenzio version and it will register the DLL files on install.

Thank you. This is exactly what I needed. Someone just to say "these are what these things are and what they do". I do have to admit I don't fault my buddy too much for soft bricking this thing as of all the devices I've rooted or flashed to this seems the most confusing. And also it's very odd that if you remove BW without first unlocking the bootloader you get this error..... Why can't they all just be as easy as a Nexus? Lol.

And also it's very odd that if you remove BW without first unlocking the bootloader you get this error..... Why can't they all just be as easy as a Nexus? Lol.

A few other things that may help.
1.lgnpst is a pain with windows 8
2.it will not work with USB 3.0
3.be sure to right click lgnpst exe and run as admin
I got my OG right after release but had already been following forum, and would hate to have to jump in now and try to figure things out.

Well its especially difficult when someone just brings you a phone and you've never even seen it booted up and you don't know all the weird quirky rules it has (like if you uninstall GAPPS without unlocking the bootloader then you get a bootloop.) lol Otherwise it seems like a solid phone. It has almost the same specs as my Nexus 4.

This link is for a flashable zip of rooted stock jb. If you used the teenybin files with lgnpst then flashed it with recovery the end result would be stock rom with unlocked bootloader, root, and custom recovery.

Real quick.... So once I've got everything back to stock and get the boot loader unlocked.. Will I then be able to modify system stuff, uninstall bloat etc and avoid that evil security error boot loop?

Yes, once you're unlocked & rooted you will be good to go. I would recommend flashing an established rom and installing the GApps that are recommended. It would be a lot more convenient and less of a hassle.
Make sure you are using TWRP, CWM was causing bugs with flashing of some roms. Hope this helps.

Awesome and once I've flashed a good rom. Would that then circumvent any future boatloads caused by modifications etc.? So in other words are those proprietary (catches) cooked out when the devs set up a rom? I would imagine so. I know most of us folks hate that kinda thing... Lol
BTW any tips on a good solid stable Jelly Bean Rom? Would want it to be pretty stable since it's not my phone... Lol

I really want an LG G2..... Oooh yeah... Thanks again everyone and maybe some one will find the instructions in this thread helpful.

USA Metro PCS LG L70

Here you go guys I figured there to much clutter on the other thread so maybe this will help us root THIS phone and not have other phone's in there. So please don't post comments or questions about any phone other then the USA MetroPCS LG L70.
LG L70 still NOT rooted
MK902 ROOTED with 4.4 custom rom
SAMMYZ is the person that posted this else where I posted it here to help us root THIS b*t*h!
Alright let the MS323/D415 development begin.
1) There are new drivers here (v3.11) uninstall old drivers:
http://tool.xcdn.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=UW00120120425
2)MS323 (Metro L70) firmware here:
http://oudhitsquad.com/android/?dir=LGE/Firmware/MS323
3)D415 (T-Mobile L90) firmware here:
http://oudhitsquad.com/android/?dir=LGE/Firmware/D415
4)D320 (International L70) firmware here:
http://oudhitsquad.com/android/?dir=LGE/Firmware/D320n
I will be adding more D320 firmwares as I find more, beware weird looking file names as those would be incomplete files that are still uploading.
Just to let yall know that I just copied this from the other forum and it's not my work.

I agree. It would also be useful to put the failed root methods in the OP so people know what doesn't work
Failed:
motochopper
saferoot
cydiaimpactor
framaroot
kingo
LG Spirit root method
IOroot
and manually pushing the root files via ADB
Yesterday i was chatting to a guy on oneclick.com or something like that.he wanted $30 for the root.so there is a way for sure.

I honestly wouldn't trust it. If it's this difficult to get a proper root, even on xda, then he might just be a scammer.
