[Q] Charger Port Flex Cable.. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

So it turns out the i717 White Galaxy note I purchased is having issues with charging (Having to move wire and cautiously have to leave it so it will charge). I've already found a video tutorial here ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pD9R-YUT69Q <--- I'm concerned that if I buy one it will mess up my phone. I normally wouldn't act like this but because of the video's website it actually says there is a flex cable solely for the white version that is different from the black version of the note. That comes to my next dilemma... ---> http://www.durapowerglobal.com/Sams...ort-Flex-Cable-Replacement-REV-10_p_5083.html <--- It's been saying that they are on back order. Im not sure if anyone else has experienced this issue with the same thing and having the white note and all. Any suggestions? Has anyone tried using a flex cable for the white note that was intended for the black note and if yes had you any problems? Thank you for taking time to read this.

I had that same problem on mine when I bought it. I actually had no idea there were different charger flex boards. This is the one I got;
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=120983752234
and it worked on my (white) phone up until now. It has to be replaced again. I think the charger flex board is one of those things that's a weak point on the i717.

[Q] Optimus T from ebay: touchscreen goes haywire, did I get the wrong charger?

I just got my first Android phone, an LG Optimus T from eBay. I'm loving it, however the touchscreen is extremely flaky while the phone is charging. Googling this problem suggests that this is a common problem with cheap phone chargers.
The eBay ad said that the phone was basically new and that the box would contain all of the things that it came with. The charger that was in the box, in an opened plastic bag has no LG branding anywhere on it. It does not have a USB port on the charger, just a permanent cord with the MicroUSB plug on the end. It just has a small label that says "Travel Charger/Type TGR-025/Input:AC110V-240V/OutputC 5V-12V".
My question is: Is this the charger that came with the phone when it was brand new in the T-Mobile packaging? Or, did the seller send me a crappy charger in the original box instead of the real deal? Is there anyone here who bought the same phone direct from T-Mobile and can clarify what their charger looks like?
Thanks for any help you can offer. Based on your responses, I will take this up with the eBay seller and get it made right.

I ordered two chargers from ebay, and both of them have USB ports on them that you plug a USB cable into (with a microUSB at one end). Sounds like you did NOT get everything that came with it, and you should complain to the seller/ask for some money back.
I got the T-Mobile Optimus T phones (which are identical to the Optimus One), but I don't know if they come bundled with the exact same chargers or not.
Same problem
I have the original charger and i have the same problem with the touchscreen when i charge the phone...
any solution? or its a bug of the software?
when I use my friends htc desire data/charger cable to connect my phone to pc to charge, the touch screen goes retarded. but when I connect my own cable, the phone works perfectly. so it could be either the cable or charger.
the original charger comes with a small sticker that says travel adaptor and there us an lg logo in front of it.

[Q] No service after charging port replacement

I have a second hand Galaxy S2 which was unlocked to all networks and randomly the phone would connect to driving mode. I used GoLauncher EX to delete Voice control but then it started showing that it was charging constantly. After a lot of research I found the problem was in the charging port.
I ordered a new charging port online and I've put it in instead of the old one and now the charging problem is gone, but now my phone gets no service on a Three UK sim, I'm quite sure it wasn't on Three UK to begin with.
Is it possible that changing the charging port might have locked the phone to the original carrier again?
and is there anyway to unlock it(without root) or get it working again a different way?
(This is my first post. Forgive me if I've made any mistakes. )
Got quite a few views. Does this mean no one has any idea on what it could be?
Take a look at the antenna wire sometime you touched it and it's not connected properly
Yeah I have seen a lot of people lose signal who replace that port. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the antenna. Make sure you have knocked it by mistake

I experienced the same problem with my Samsung S2. I had destroyed the charging port by being careless when charging it which meant my phone would not charge at all; although if I was lucky I would get about 10% charge every day.
To resolve the problem, I bought a cheap charging port flex cable off ebay for about £4.00 which I thought was a bargin. After taking the phone apart (with help from a YouTube video) I replaced the port, turned the phone on and it charged perfectly. Then all of a sudden I lost all signal. I moved around the house, hoping to get the slightest bit of signal but no, nothing. I did a lot of research online as to why this has happened and everyone said it was to do with the antenna cable that runs along the left hand side of the phone so my immediate thought was to buy a new one. I did a factory reset to see if that helped but it did not. As I was desperate, the following day I went into town to see if I could find a shop that sold an antenna wire. I went in shop after shop but nowhere sold what I was looking for. I went into a shop and described my problem to the man behind the counter, and he knew exactly what was wrong. On the flex cable there is "REV" followed by a number, and he told me that if the replacement number is not the same as the original then the phone will have no service.
In the photos you will see my original cable that was "REV2.3" and my replacement cable that was "REV2.2".
Long story short... when replacing the charging port make sure the replacement flex cable has the same REV number as the original otherwise you will have no service. Your problem is not related to the antenna wire.
I hope this helps!

New Charging Port - Still not charging!

Just replaced the charging port on my ATT SGII i777. Still not charging. Any ideas on what to try next?
The charge port I bought was for a i9100 but I was under the impression that they were interchangeable:
I've tried several chargers so I'm pretty sure it is not the charger,

Cable? Have you tried a different charging cable?I know it sounds ridiculous but I remember someone posting that fixed their issue.

Yes. Charger and cables. tried like 4 different one including two samsung ones.. I also plugged it into the computer and it is not detected at all.
After my original post, I noticed that my cellular service wasn't working either. Cleaned up the old port with a good dose of rubbing alcohol and a soft toothbrush and put it back in. Charger still not working but the cell service is back.
The markings on both boards say GT-i9100 and rev2.2 but the original says R.B82 and the replacement says says R.B84. I doubt that means anything.
Any other ideas or testing to do? Luckily I ordered an external charger and extra battery so I am not dead in the water.
Just a quick update - I bought several other charging ports before I finally found one that works. The one that worked was on ebay from muchbuy-outlet. I emailed them prior to purchasing. They said it would work and it did. Here is the link will expire at some point...

I tried this one from ebay and it did not work (can't post link so it's ebay item # 330880743336
Im thinking of trying the one you linked. Could I ask when you bought your GS2? I got mine about a mnth after it came out. If you got yours at the same time maybe ill take the risk of buying another board.

you know, I didnt use my i777 for 6 months, and I went to charge it and it wouldnt charge... It would just sit there with the captivate lights blinking rapidly like it wanted to start, and didnt... Long story short, I took the battery out of my i777 and used my t989 as a temporary charger just to get some juice in there (to about 10 %) and switched it back to the i777 and the i777 charged it no problem after that. I think there could be an issue with the i777 firmware which doesnt charge a battery that has gone to complete dead.
I have no issues charging or connecting to adb now

It is because the usb port that we have on our phone is not that great. Before I got my port fixed by Samsung, it would not be able to charge an empty battery, but now it is fine. Although sometime when the battery get too hot, it just through the phone in a loop of charging just enough to boot then shut down again.
You need I9100 gt model Rev 2.3 to replace sgh i777 At&t usb flex cable.
I just changed mine. Mine was rev 2.3. I got mine ebay at the "Cellphone-Repair-Shop" Search for "usb flex cable i9100 gt" model. It has to be the Gt model and it has to be The rev 2.3. So ask your seller before you buy. I believe the cellphone repair shop only sells 2.3.
I did put the Non-GT model in first because I read several reviews that it would work if I bought it from a specific store. This turned out to be a misplacement of many reviews. I am returning that one tomorrow. The wrong one charged for a day. Then nothing... and it caused all kinds of reception problems. Pretty much made phone useless.
Now with the Gt model in, when I connect to computer (wouldn't work before) it reads in explorer that this is a i9100 gt model phone. I do believe it is the new usb port that causes this to be read as a Gt i9100 and not the warning screen caused by rooting.
I wonder if this will cause any problems when flashing roms or anything else like otg usb mounting.

Bud,
When I plug in my charger the charging circuit goes on and off. I have a tone that dings once (or makes a "BEDUP' sound) indicating the charger is charging and it sounds like a bell indicating that the charger circuit connects and disconnect even before the BEDUP sound can fully complete! LOL Well instead of just one 'bedup' sound it bedups then bedups again! and again etc. The actual indicator on the battery icon goes on then off in sync to the bedups. I suspect its the dock connector charging port but am not positive. I have two I777's; the second one charges fine with the same usb cable so the cable is ruled out. I also had trouble using ODIN and getting my drivers to load in windows "Intermittently", but only on the SUSPECT I777.
Sometimes I can get it to charge by holding the USB cable either pressed upward or downward but it I change pressure at all it will go out.
Were the actual metal strips on your dock connector worn out? That is what I am thinking my issue is. If so It will require another charging port.
After reading your post an reevaluating my issues I am even more sure it is the charging port, but would appreciate any input you may have about your experience!
Thanks for your input!

Hey, thanks for the info.
My i777 device has the same issue. But the item in the above link does not ship to my country.
So I checked on ebay for another S2 REV 2.3 usb flex cable and found this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140959296482
But in the cable you have bought it says "R.CB4 28 GT-I9100 REV2.4" and on my selected cable it says "R.CA4 GT-I9100 REV2.4"
Is that a big difference or should I not worry about it?
Thanks!

Sorry I missed this but anyone having this issue should first try cleaning the port with a small brush (soft toothbrush or I used these: http://www.dentek.com/product/144/easy-brush-cleaners/) dipped in isopropyl alcohol. That may help (or not). If that doesn't solve the problem, you are going to need to swap out the charging port. -- Bud

[Q] Charging port issues PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Hello, I purchased a i717 off eBay and my luck i figured out after I got it and had no cell signal accept in a few real good hot spots. I figured out the seller replaced the charging port flex cable... I read that the part numbers matter a lot on this phone andhe don't have the original now.... I am trying to get this figured out it as on the case v0.3 so I'm guessing the one I needed is a rev 3.0 and I can't find it anywhere or a rev 2.0 for that matter... So does anyone have any idea how to tell which one i need and do they actually say rev 2, or just the second numbers are different but it says rev1 in the top line.....I've checked the antenna cable and it charges fine..... Please help........ I sold my iPhone 5 and found this amazing phone that I can't use:crying:

[Q] I9100 charge without usb port

Hi there,
I am looking for a way to charge my i9100 without using the usb port, as it is broken. I do know some phones have external charging pins hidden under the battery cover - my wife's Nexus S has those. Nonetheless I couldn't find them on my Galaxy S II. Anyone had some experience with this? I do know one can buy and replace the usb port together with the whole bottom circuit board, which would probably fix my problem. But I got the phone for free to use before buying a new one and I did not want to put any money into it

Hi namarath,
I have the same problem. The usb flex cable I bought to exchange the broken one was broken itself, which is common. As a solution I bought an external battery charger for just 5 Euro on Aliexpress. Works fine since I have two batteries. The indicator light switches from pink to blue when charged. Be warned that this light is bright like disco lights
Cheers

Buying a broken replacement USB port/board assembly is NOT common......buying the WRONG version of the board IS common....There are 4 different non interchangeable versions.
See this guide that I wrote for explanations.....

But yes, I agree, an external charger and spare battery is a good option....I have done this for both my S2 and S5......

Hi keithross39,
Well, unfortunately in my case everything but loading the battery did work with the new flex cable which indeed had the same version number. So I was one of the few to pick a broken one But thanks for your work in that area!
Cheers
