t-mobile P769BK kdz file found!!! - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

I found the p769bk 10g firmware, but it's since been taken down. after I figure out how to host the file, i'll post it.
edit:
here's the link:
http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/413820/V10G_00.kdz
here's an alternate link:
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=18
also, flashing this version means losing root and cwm.

Awesome!! Im gonna test it and see whats in it. Link is broke for dropbox

Downloading KDZ now, thanks for the KDZ
OK, I dont think this is for a GSM phone, I took apart the KDZ and found parts for CDMA phones and not GSM.

I flashed it on mine and it's all working fine so far. Haven't gotten it rooted, but otherwise it's running like a scalded ape.

Cool! When you get it rooted see if you can pull the recovery.img and post it, i want to poke around in it.

1.) Does it have all the regular T-Mobile bloatware?
2.) Does it include working wifi-calling?
If these are both true, it really is a T-Mobile KDZ.
One last question.
3.) Is the digitizer more or less sensitive that the 10e firmware? Thank You.

I have owned 6 P769BK devices so far. All of them have been difficult to root. Try the official root a bunch of times with reboots in between. It may work eventually. that is what happened for me.

I wonder if its an "official" update that just wasn't ready which is why it was pulled.

No joy. Back on 10e it worked first try, but I guess I was just lucky

I got root first try as well

What steps did you perform to get back to 10e? I want to flash this new KDZ, but I need to know that I can get back to stock. Thank You.
Is this firmware for the P769BKGO?
What is the difference between P769BK and P769BKGO?

I think you misunderstood, or I used bad grammar. I meant to say that back when I was on v10e I rooted first try. The one I found was P769BK, not P769BKGO. Still trying to download P769BKGO, but every time I try it says:
Forbidden
Your client is not allowed to access the requested object.
as for the differences, I can't say, as I don't have the latter one yet.
sorry for the confusion.
also, if anybody does have the v10e or v10g p769bkgo kdz, could you send me a fileshare link, seeing as apparently I've downloaded and flashed the wrong kdz, even though it works perfectly

unlock bootloader lgms769(metropcs)

ok i have a lgms769 from metropcs i flashed the t-mobile 20vf kdz( the lg p769) i have root but cant unlock bootloader or install recovery but i have root, i had it unlocked til i flashed a wrong rom and had bricked it.
someone please help
+1 this.I'm not gonna even bother flashing a TMO ROM. Too much headache.
I'm also frustrated that there are no kdz files or ROMs specifically for the L9 MetroPCS version.
Lgms769 is exactly like P769. Another thing (to OP) you would know if you unlocked the bootloader. Unlocking bootloader requires flashing euro kdz 20b, and you will mess your phone up if you don't do some reading.

but with the P769 firmware, does the phone still function properly on MetroPCS's 4G ??? And is there no simple way to unlock it? Seems to be way too complicated.
Check phandroid there is a cyanogen mod by bobzhome and I believe they are near perfect (both versions).

Second question
Yes it operates fine on the T-Mobile ROM. MetroPCS and T-Mobile have merged together.

I downloaded rom toolbox and ran the cpu info script and the lgms769 has a lg p769 board in it, i have root and recovery on lgms769 v10b so its ok i guess im woeking on a custom rom.
And for update binary ro.product.device is u2.

On OP is a tweak to add move 2 sd, and a swap script that will allow you to install large games. Since you have rom toolbox just use it to change the build.prop and add the swap script (set at boot)
CM 10.1 P769
Metro already allows moving to SD card. That's where the script idea came from I believe

I added it to the build.prop, not unless they changed something when it finally came out. That option was not present in the build.prop of the kdz I got from lg. I found this out by comparing the build.prop of wind and T-Mobile.

I am a newbee to embedded devices, can someone help me or let me know what I can do with this mobile (LGM769 MetroPCS)?
Can the bootloader be unlocked and can I run custom ROMs on it? I read a lot of posts which just confused me (Maybe it's my Multiple Sclerosis) maybe I am just thick either way some help would be much appreciated. I know this mobile is getting old but it's the only thing I have.
Thanks,

No brother, this phone is definitely a nightmare. Unlocking the bootloader is the tricky part. I haven't tried myself, can't afford for my phone to be down while attempting to unlock the bootloader. There are those who have succeeded on the first try and there are those who have tried many times and failed.
If you have plenty of free time on your hands, then I'd give it a shot. But, before you do, make sure you have LGs drivers installed on your PC as well as the OMAP4 fastboot drivers. Because of the OMAP4 fastboot drivers, this phone is practically unbrickable. Just search the threads in the L9 forums for 'fastboot'.
As for your device getting old, I still have a Optimus One variant, P509, that's still running today. And there's a KitKat ROM for it too. I really wish the L9 was as easy to manage as my Optimus T is.
Best of luck
Thank you for the reply I'll check it out because this is my only mobile right now. Might have to rethink it. I read the whole thread and noticed that this so-called "devil phone" is not worth the effort. Next time I will just purchase a mobile that has been boot-loader unlocked and root potential and be done with it..lol
Cheers!

If you've modified system apps OR removed system content (bloatware) it won't allow you to update because you're missing "required" files. And by that I mean, they're upset that you removed their "important" and "exclusive" content, so they refuse you the update. Don't worry, the update it useless for most users.

The thing is I don't get 2G, 3G or 4G at work where I really think I probably would. I would like to think this "update" would help.
I didn't go bloatware removal crazy on this thing (like I wanted to). I made a backup of Amazon then uninstalled it using Titanium Backup. That is the only thing from the rom I removed. If I restored it, I wonder if it would work. I'll try restoring it then post back.

Now to find out if reception is any better.. I guess bloatware will in one way or another haunt me forever. Not going to buy a branded phone again! :crying: Now if only I could move apps to SD &/or have T-Mobile's WiFi calling on CyanogenMod.

Do the update. And then it'll show a dead android. Then just turn it off (Hold power down or take out battery) and reboot, it'll never notify you again.

I agree. It would also be useful to put the failed root methods in the OP so people know what doesn't work
Failed:
motochopper
saferoot
cydiaimpactor
framaroot
kingo
LG Spirit root method
IOroot
and manually pushing the root files via ADB
Yesterday i was chatting to a guy on oneclick.com or something like that.he wanted $30 for the root.so there is a way for sure.

I honestly wouldn't trust it. If it's this difficult to get a proper root, even on xda, then he might just be a scammer.

Root
I'm glad we separated from the other thread to focus on the MS323 I hope we can get it rooted as it has some nice value for a $50 phone. I you guys don't mind is there a phone that has not be able to be rooted?

No stock recovery....

Just bought an LG G3 from CL and someone must have been tinkering with it (as Im about to) but when I try to reset the phone from the menu or with the hardware keys it just boots up as Im not doing anything re-flashed with LG Tools still nothing?

Have you rooted it? Try 'reboot recovery' in terminal. What happens?
Yes its rooted..Now to use TWRP since I could not get the stock recovery to work.
Nothing Just reboots....tried re-installing stock FW with the Flash tool and when I upgrade DL it gives me the Factory Reset Status 2
If I Upgrade Board DL.......I get to the OS but no recovery
Have current LG Drivers Current Flash Tools.......Im stumped (No Pun)

We probably will get lollipop via TWRP before ota. If not it won't take long to rip the required parts and package them for TWRP.

I have not, I'm 95% sure it works though. Try it before you need it though just in case. Also you may still not be able to take an OTA as you will be rooted and modded.

Don't take ota's ever! A Dev will make it flashable. Taking the ota can make bump not ever work again and only chainfires new su zip get root on L. Just put that stock recovery image in the trash.

ZV4 to ZV6

Hello,
So i wanted to somehow manually update my phone from ZV4 (Did the .tot downgrade) and upgrade to ZV6 so i can get Wifi Calling, i have already removed/frozen alot! of stock Sprint Apps (Mainly removed lol) and i wanted to update to ZV6. I want to still keep my root and update, i saw a thread someone had posted and it said something about if you removed sprint apps it will error or fail to verify or something. Any suggestions on how to upgrade to ZV6 and keep root? Thanks
My recommendation would be to flash BarRin, which is a pre-rooted, debloated stock ZV6 ROM with a few tweaks:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/development/rom-barrin-odexed-deodexed-t2950747
I will do that!
So correct me if im wrong but i would flash v3 then the update then gapps?
Also is there like a live chat room for the LG G3 for instant support?

Also can you confirm that you have wifi calling since you are running zv6 as shown in your signature?

Yep. I'm running BarRin v3 and WiFi calling works fine. I did a clean install of v2 and then a dirty flash of v3.
If WiFi calling doesn't work on any stock ROM, entering ##RTN# in the dialer should get it back. It will do a factory reset of your phone, though, so make sure you back up anything important.

Yeah i would do the ##RTN# but i don't want to chat/call and get my MSL code so eh, anyways yeah i thought it was weird when i downgraded and i didnt even see any mention of Wifi Calling, hopefully zv6 has it
Thanks for the reply bud!
I found a way to get my MSL without calling Sprint. Let me see if I can find it again.

I posted a link to a g2 thread a few months ago that worked perfectly for me, and let me push prl's too. I haven't tried It yet on zv8 yet, but my Wi-Fi calling on zv8 seems a lot more reliable than it was on zv6.

I cant find the LG drivers on their site anymore, but this is the driver i downloaded if you need it. It is probably an outdated version by now, but its for our G3 and works for my phone.
http://tool.xcdn.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=UW00120120425
Follow the directions in the thread i linked to exactly except using the above drivers. It wont show up in the program if you don't set it to charge only. Also, the program may be blocked by antivirus(i had to disable symantec endpoint protection to extract it)
Haha i just looked at the driver the original post points to, and its this exact driver too.... so nevermind on that statement lol

This is the method I used to get my MSL. I did this on ZV4, so I don't know if it works on ZV6 (probably) or ZV8 (try it and see).
