[Q] Unlocking HTC Evo 3D - HTC EVO 3D

I have no idea how to root my current version of my phone, any chance someone could point me in the right direction?
HTC evo 3d (No SIM card)
Android 4.3
hboot 1.63.0000
Rom version 2.29.970.7
-- UPDATE --
so i got an unlocked boot loader >.> apparently the HTCDev website is really picky about what fking days you try this crap, cuz i tried it about 200 times yesterday and always got back error 170 or 175.
Anyways here is the correct information as of this writing sorry for the bad information the first time.
Information
Android Version: 4.0.3
HTC Sense Version: 3.6
Software Number: 2.29.970.7
PRL Version: 00051
Carrier: AU by KDDI (Japanese carrier)
startup screen (when you press down-power)
*** LOCKED ***
SHOOTER_K PUT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.63.000
eMMC-boot

The information you've given cannot be correct, Do you perhaps mean Android 4.0.3? And what carrier are you on? and any and all information you can think of (Correct information) will be helpful here.

Plus hboot and ROM version don't correspond with each other. I believe he is gsm too due to his bootloader being 1.63 I mean 1.53.

It's the second time I have seen that hboot, good luck unlocking it, AFAIK HTC Dev will not unlock that bootloader. Google is your friend

It's a Shooter_K, And Japanese, So it's a different phone, I saw a post from Dastin that said that to flash a CDMA rom to that it would still have to be ported because some things are different, It might not be doing down for you buddy.

[Q] Close to bricking my Flyer - need help

Hello!
I think I'm close to bricking my HTC Flyer Wifi 16GB and could use som help from the bright minds of XDA.
What I'm trying to do is to revert back from DexterJB to stock GB/HC and going S-On again since the tablet is beeing sent in for service (bad screen). However, when downgrading something went wrong and now i only have access to the bootloader (volume - and Power).
How did I get here?
As I said, I was trying to downgrade from DexterJB, following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346200
I got to step 11 where an error told me the device ID was wrong and the update process was aborted. Now the tablet only reaches the HTC white bootscreen and stops.
My cidnum is: HTC__Y13 so the RUU i was using should have worked: RUU_Flyer_HC_S_HTC_WWE_3.55.405.1_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.07_M_release_226690_signed
I also tried these RUUs:
RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_1.36.405.5_R_Radio_20.35.30.089BU_3809.05.0401.04_M_release_189803_signed
RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_2.23.405.3_R_Radio_20.3504.30.089BU_3809.07.04.06_M_release_204108_signed
All of them just hits me with the error: 130 wrong model ID.
What can i do to fix this? Willing to donate a beer to the one who can help me out with this since i need it fixed ASAP.
Well, what version of the Flyer do you have (region, etc.)?

Bought in Sweden (so region should be Europe/North?), Wifi edition so not branded - HTC_Y13, thats about all information I have.
Ah, got it working again! Followed the steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358758
Now i just have to figure out how to remove REVOLUTIONARY and go back to S-ON. Guess I'll have to buy myself that beer now.

I think Europe is all WWE version, so that you were right about. But for WiFi only, the RUU says "WiFi" in the file name. So I think that is why the RUUs your tried resulted in version error. At least that seems to be the case for RUUs listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062184

The method in your OP seems to be the way to go. Downgrading the hboot should get you S-On. Running the stock RUU will get you back to stock recovery. I think its just a matter of finding the right RUU for your version.

Meanbean question

Question.
I just came from mean ics and loved it and now I'm mean bean and absolutely love this too. (And thank you fit sure) Will any of the options from the folder (4x5, OC, or more) work in mean bean? If not is an OC or roxie coming? And if I'm late to that party can anyone tell me how and where?
You all rock! Thanks

The old ones will likely not work, but you're welcome to try. You'll likely bootloop, if you're not sure how to fix a bootloop I wouldn't venture that way. All the mods will come, but they have to be ported to the new base. Relax and give the devs some time, it's only been two days.
Trust me, I'm patient.. I can wait for a while if needed. And since these smart people (unlike me) that can do things like this so well I was just curious...
For avoiding bootloop I'm not sure at if that's what I'll get but I'll try later when I get home since I don't want to screw up my phone while at work.. Especially how restricted my internet sites are..
Thanks for the quick and informative response, I never am disappointed !

When I go into my bootloader
JEWEL PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT- 1.12.0000
RADIO- 1.02.12.0427
OpenDSP-v25.1.0.32.0405
Currently I am on the latest MEANBEAN Rom and has been working for the most part pretty damn good, few tweaks that are finicky but that happens.
I just started reading the entire thread and realized that i was no where near updated as I should be
As of the Jelly bean update no, I have been with Mean for a long time, prolly since I first rooted it and then I just went from the ICS to JB MEANrom once I noticed it was up.
DirtyRacun is pretty painless if you follow the instructions to the letter I helped someone a couple weeks ago over gtalk get S-OFF using DR

I would suggest s-off dirty racoon style. Then flash your radios through bootloader. When the jb base came out I was s-on and decided it would be smart for me to future proof so I took the plunge. Follow the instructions for dirty racoon step by step and you should be okay. I've also read somewhere that s-on users who have taken the ota update to jb and then unlocked bootloader through htc have been having some issues getting radio and other firmware to stick after flashing through bootloader. It made sense to me to s-off. Pretty painless if you follow the directions. Hope this helps you out but to each his own.

For every one that helped I want to say thank you to them officially because now I'm s-off and running radio 1.12.11.1119. Now that I got this accomplished is there anything else I should know or update? I saw pri or prl not sure but was told since I am in roam a lot for my job I should probably get the business prl? Anyways thanks again and if there is anything else please let me know!

You are probably already on stock software since it's s-off and it doesn't say UNLOCKED or RELOCKED on top. Download your current RUU or later and try flashing that.
Some stock evo 3d roms are at
http://www.shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Shooter
make sure you get the right one for your phone.
Since I think it was broken before, it might be a hardware issue and you could possibly get a replacement. What language are you most comfortable with, seems you do not have a lot of experience with english and you might be able to get your point across better in your native tongue? Idk, there's google translate. Trying to help...

rooting advice needed.

Years ago, I rooted my HTC EVO 4G and I was a flashaholic. Due to life's issues I have not had the chance to root my LTE but would like to now. I've been out of the rooting world for some time so I'd like a little guidance in the way of websites or just a general direction.
Also, I tried to get ADB to work on this phone and would not recognize the device. No clue what I'm doing wrong there.
Here's what I have, I don't even know if I can root this phone. Is the exploit available?

Thank you.
Check out Bigdaddy's guide for rooting. Click on the link in my sig, as it has a link to his guide, also. Lots of other useful info there, too.
Not sure if your OG was S-off, but it's highly recommended on this device.
I came from the OG EVO myself. Welcome Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any questions, or just ask here in the forum.

Thank you! My OG was rooted using UNREVOKED and I believe that gave me S-OFF and threw a custom recovery on--possibly, it's been a while but I remember that it was very easy and there were literally hundreds of combinations of kernels, radios and ROM you could flash. That unit was truly customizable. I'm not sure why I moved on to the LTE. Oh well, it is nice and is fast, maybe that's why. I'll start with your sig and go from there. I just needed some to show me the gate.

Not sure if you're still looking for advice but if so, via htcevohacks.com and download the EVO4GLTERoot2 zip. Follow their instructions on how to root. Simple and easy to follow. As far as S-off goes, try facepalm (look for it here on XDA) but being that you are on the most recent firmware, you may have to use dirty racun like I did. A bit complicated but it works nonetheless. Find dirty racun at unlimited.io

[Q] Root gratia (aria?) in 2014, Confused

So, i have the HTC Gratia A6380 (wich i've understand is the same as aria, just the EU version)
and been trying to find a way to root it. But i havent managed to yet. I have looked around in the dev forum
but it seems that most of the tutorials are either old or have dead links.
I've tried some auto 1 click rooters but those i've tried just restarts my phone before the end.
So im wondering if anybody knows a working tutorial that works as of today and the links aren't broken.
Also, i figured i could provide my device info.

I understand this phone is old and these forums half dead, but any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance !
I would recommend to S-OFF the phone first via this: http://revolutionary.io/
I think you first have to OTA up to hboot 1.02 so this can work, but I'm not sure... maybe it works with the old hboot as well. Just try out. When you have S-OFF, just flash a recovery via fastboot and flash SuperSU via recovery and you are done. Good luck!

For recovery, use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446778
I had an old Aria with CM7 on it, HBoot 0.57 and S-ON. Ran through a bunch of things before getting it to work...overall, the "right" way is quite simple...
I used the official AT&T 2.2 Update package to get Hboot updated to one that revolutionary would be able to root, then revolutionary ran without a hitch.
Once HBoot is at 1.02 and S-OFF, you're pretty much free to install any recovery or ROM as needed - I am giving 4.4 a shot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2737497
i managed to get hboot 1.02 and then s-off with revolutionary. Gonna give the last part a try during the weekend, gonna post results then, thx for the help so far!
