Kindle FreeTime - 7" Kindle Fire HD Themes and Apps

I bought my son a Kindle Fire 2 and rooted it to install the Play Store. I also installed a custom launcher to make it easier for him to navigate. The default launcher isn't that great for kids. Anyway, I was really jazzed up to use FreeTime but I can't seem to get it to work properly. I can't start a new subscription to access the premium features. I assume this is because his device is rooted and/or has a custom launcher. Does anyone know of a way around this?

hopefully someone can port of Freetime so we can use it on the roms.

Has anyone got a backup of kindle free time.I'm trying to set up a kindle fire for my nephew and free time would be nice
(Edit) never mind the kindle updated and added free time

[Q] Asphalt 6 HD

Hey folks,
The Amazon appstore has Asphalt 6 HD (Kindle Fire Edition) on sale for $0.99. It shows that it is not compatible with the NT.
Has anybody tried this game on an NT? (all reference I found are for the NC).
(Has anybody had luck with other Kindle Fire Edition type of apps?)
Thanks.
I tried it. It says that the App is not availeble for this device, please ask the store for a refund. But it works on my galaxy s2
Thanks Pete. I just saw that it was also available on the Android Market for $.99. Will probably get it there!
well it also doesn´t work from the android market, the app is just not compatible with the nook tablet :S
I spoofed mine as a Nexus S, downloaded it through the Market and it works great!
Spoofing?

I tried the droid 3 build.prop and no dice.
Tried the market version of Asphalt 6 and also a diff version I found online. Won't load past the intro screen. On the up side I did get Modern Combat 3, Dead Space, and Shadow Gun running flawlessly.
If you can get the apk, it will run.

Try the nexus S build.prop info. That's what's on my tab and it's running.

Install Google Play store apps on A Kindle Fire when you don't have another Android d

I just found this article online. This is perfect for anyone with a computer and a kindle fire they don't want to root. NOTE This is not just a guide on side loading apps.

Yeah, Bluestacks is definitely one way to go at it but still too cumbersome for most people. I've got a page where I have posted common apk files that people need and willing to add more on request. Just leave a comment on the page for an app that you need. http://androidcowboy.com/android-apk-files-download/
Do you have any Kindle friendly links to work with? I tried to download them directly, and of course mega being mega, wants you to download the desktop version of chrome to download. :banghead: (Darn you Mega!!!) I know a lot of people will download from their Kindles, so you know.

Appreciated the article, got as far as 'bluestacks' only to be told that my Windows needed 'SP2'. Not being massively computer literate this confused me. Does this mean in order for this to work i need to update my software from somewhere or am i going to have to shell out for a new laptop??

Sky Go Struggle on-going
I have followed the instructions on the original link and managed to get Sky + working on my kindle and Sky Go installed on the tablet. However, whenever i try to open a channel the same old 'device not supported' text comes up!?
I thought i was getting somewhere only to grind to a halt. Any ideas from the floor?
Blue stacks is great! I have Play Store installed, and it force closes every time I open it; however, I've the log-on services framework installed. Maybe a few other things. I use blue stacks to access my existing play store apps I paid for, back them up using ES File Explorer, and upload onto google drive. I haven't had a problem installing and using paid for play store apps; play store closes, but it only really needs to be installed. It never lets me get past the terms of service agreement before closing.
Anyone getting past that without rooting? That kinda messes with the stock apps--considering I need those to work, rooting will never happen for my kfhd8.9.

I'm talking about the version you use on a Windows or Mac computer. I was using a copy of Chrome for Android already.

I don't trust chainfire. Especially since I don't have a recovery.

Everything installs except vending.apk so I have no Play store. I am rooted. I don't understand because there is already a vending apk in system/apps but if you click that it won't install either. Writing over t with the new one just leads to not being able to install the new one, re-booting doesn't help. I am stuck.

Chainfire has a issue regarding recovary. We shouldn't use it unless we have another backup option.

DraStic
Agreed, you definitely should be on DraStic as it runs every game at full speed. To my knowledge all the other emulators are based off the pc emulator except DraStic which was written to run on ARM (what the DS runs on).

Problem with Root and Screencast

Hi guys I have a problem with Screencast, a problem with root!!
The video that have recorded is black!!
I have a Kindle Fire with SuperSU, and how I can solve this problem?? Please help
I have only been able to get screencast to work on cm 10.1 (and its variants).
Sent from my JellyBeer Fire HD
Ok thanks man. Is there another application thai support the 7 inches (17 cm)??? Or tenere is a method with pc? Thanks in Advance.

I don't think we ever found a way to do this, don't take my word for this, but I'm assuming you can't use this app correctly for the same reason vnc server is incompatible when used on kindle fires native os. Not sure if it has anything to do with grabbing the images from the frame buffer or not, but like it was said it works fine on cm.

App request

Could someone please upload the kindle fire mail .apk. I want to put it on my phone but I can't get it from my kindle because it's not rooted. Thanks
Sent from my KFJWI using Tapatalk HD
You could pull it from the update file on their website, that bin file is just a zip file with the extension changed. Also system apps on the kindle have a tendency to rely on the amazon os's custom framework so there a chance the program won't work on your phone, but it would be interesting if it did.
